Watson's QB Battle Heats Up in Cleveland

0:00On April 29th, Dishon Watson came out of the Cleveland Browns mini-camp, looking like the top pick for starting quarterback next year. Reports say he's got the edge for QB1 spot in 2026, even after missing most time with suspensions and injuries, just 19 games. Since joining the team, he's thrown for 3,365 yards and 19 touchdowns with Cleveland, but his total QBR sits at 33 point. 1. One of the league's lowest, overall in the NFL, the Clemson alum has nearly 18,000 yards and 123 touchdowns since being drafted 12th overall in 2017. The Browns also reworked Watson's deal this month, freeing up about $36 million in cap space after his 80 point 7 million hit. Loomed large, he sat out 2025 rehabbing and Achilles injury from the prior year. Rookie Shadour Sanders and Dylan Gabriel are in the mix too. Sanders threw for 1,400 yards with 7 touchdowns and 10 picks as a starter, going 3 and 4 while earning a pro bowl nod.
