Water Polo Coach Andrew McGinty Dies by Suicide

0:00On April 22nd, a 34-year-old water polo coach for Teen Gray Britain named Andrew McGinty was found dead in his hotel room last December, and, an inquest just confirmed, it was suicide by suffocation. He had checked into the village hotel in Barry, greater Manchester, on December 16th, and was supposed to leave on the 18th. When he didn't show, staff broke through the chain door and discovered his body on the bed. Tributes have flooded in from the water polo world, with swim England calling his death deeply saddening. Folks remembered him as a passionate coach who shaped young players across Manchester and led squads to national winds. He coached England and Gray Britain age group teams, worked with the city of Manchester Water polo club, and even got a visit from Prince William back in 2017 during an exhibition match.
