From the streets of Durham to the world, this is Durham News Today. Number 5. North Carolina bounced back with a big 19-7 win over Brown in the cross. Junior face-off specialist Brady Wombod dominated the dot, winning 21 of his 24 attempts to tie his career high. They gave the tar heels control early and often against Brown's top face-off man. Coming off a loss to number 3 Princeton, UNC needed a strong start. Wombod's performance accounted for nearly all their face-off wins, helping them overcome an early 3-0 deficit by the Bears. Team mates say Wombok makes their jobs much easier with all those extra possessions. Head coach Joe Bresci praised his preparation and the support from the wing players who helped secure those wins. During a key stretch, Wombok won 7 of 9 face-offs, sparking an 8-goal run for UNC. He even forced violations from his opponents, keeping the pressure on.
