Wake County School Board Reviews Budget, Device Policy, and Capital Improvements

The Wake County School Board in North Carolina is meeting today to go over Superintendent Robert Taylor's budget plan for next school year. They're also voting on an updated policy for student devices and reviewing drafts for future school calendars. On top of that, the Board will check out Capitol Improvement Project's plan for the next five years. Earlier this month, on March 10th, Wake County Public School System shared details on its fiscal year 2027-33, Capitol Improvement Program. Officials point to steady student growth and the popularity of public schools as big reasons for these updates. Many buildings are getting older, so the district has to plan carefully. The chief of facilities says this growth means they need additions, renovations, and even new schools to keep up.
