My man, we got a lot to get to here on this program. We're going to have the one and only the King of Connecticut. Will Hill is going to join the program. You cannot wait to get into the daily diamond today because, of course, we're going to max goodman on to talk all things New York metropolitan. So, you know, I'm jacked up for that one. And Zachary Cohen, as well, is going to join the program here a lot to get to in the association and also of eastern.com. If you're not of eastern pro subscriber, you should not wait any longer. Hey, Jensen, how about some legal tampering to set the juices flowing here on a March, Monday? That's where we get with our highlights and headlines. Help your bottom line with today's highlights and headlines. Illegal tampering. Well, that's a no-no. Legal tampering. Fireway, boys. It begins today high noon in the NFL. So, Jensen, this is just semantics. Trust you, me, they've been legally tampering here for quite some time, but you can officially do it today. It's interesting. You get all these
trades that are made. All these moves we can't announce them. You can announce them, but they're not official until the league actually begins our new calendar. But yet, you can legally tamper starting today. The NFL does anything they can to stay in the headlines headlines. And this is another way to do it. Well, we really didn't even need this with all the moves that happened over the weekend. Let's start at the top. Of course, the big one is Max Crosby, headed to the Baltimore Ravens for a handful of first round picks. With the increase in the salary cap, Dave, to a little over 301 million, that also means the Raiders have upwards, I think, of a 121 million plus in free agent acquisition space, if you will. We would anticipate Fernando Mendoza at number one overall and then an additional first round pick now with the Crosby deal. The other major one and we talked about at the end of last week is Trent McDuffie going from the chiefs to the Rams. He ends up agreeing once the league a year begins officially four years, $124 million extension with a $100 million guarantee highest paid quarterback in NFL history and the other headline
because we know this is a quarterback driven league. I know Lou Finicero was on with us on Friday and he said, I don't know if the Vikings are going to be that team for Kyle Murray. Man, I'm seeing a lot of smoke, buddy, around the Vikings and then maybe KOC said, no, I think I can get through to Mr. Joystick himself here. Let's see what happens once we get that league year underway beginning as well at noon. You know, I did that last week and stock up and I mentioned Kyle Murray. I got some pushback from that like, oh, Kyle Murray stock up and I'm like, hey, I'm not signing the guy. I'm just telling you, there's going to be a home for Kyle Murray and his stock right now for him in the free agent market. It's bizarre and I might not agree with it, but that doesn't, it just takes one. As we've seen before from one team to say, I'm going to kick the tires and this guy and make him a starter again. I might not advise it for KOC, but he's, he knows more than me. And if that happens in Minnesota, that'd be interesting to watch from a money perspective. What would happen if that becomes official, but you can legally tamper right now kids tamper away at high noon here
in the east coast. Let's talk about some college basketball here because Michigan did beat Sparty again, 90 to 80 in this one. So they sweep the season series here in this one, not a big surprise test, depending on the number you, they got to push where you got to win with Sparty, there were some 10 and a half. As you mentioned, Jensen earlier in the program here, but I do feel like Sparty, they're not going to move off that two line, right? I still think they should be projected as a two seed. We'll find out what happens here in the big 10 tournament. Yeah, they will be a three seed upcoming when that gets underway at the United center in Chicago tomorrow. Michigan already the one seed Nebraska with the win yesterday over Iowa, makes themselves the two seed and the fighting a line eye. They took Maryland's best punch. I'll tell you that. There's a little dicey there at the end, but the line I get through with the double buy. So your top four seeds in a big 10 tournament Michigan at one Nebraska two, Michigan state at three Illinois at four. You would imagine a winner to locks up a two seed for Michigan state at the very worst, I think, for them when selection Sunday comes around.
Yeah, and what I think is interesting there is you mentioned Sparty's going to be a three seed in their own tournament. They might be a two seed in the NCAA tournament and yet a three seed in their own big 10 tournament. Sometimes the marketplace will tell you everything you need to know. Sparty, by the way, 41 to cut down the nets just on the kind of that second tier. If you get past some of those big boys in there, little guys that are punched in their tickets already to the big dance high point North Dakota state, Northern Iowa, Queens University, all going to the big dance. Jensen, you're looking at probably a lot of 16 seeds. I'm going to see a probably a couple of these teams potentially on the Tuesday night game here. We get that 16 against 16. Don't even know if I really like that. That some of these schools don't get to get to a Thursday or Friday showcase, but that's the lay the lay of the land these days. Would you make of some of these teams that punched their tickets? Yeah, you get a couple that knocked off some one seed. So four one seeds in tournaments completed and still ongoing that had been knocked out in those respective conference tournaments. One seed that's alive and the Horizon League
Championship tonight, Dave Toprank Wright state will take on Northern Kentucky there at the Cortiva Coliseum in Indianapolis. We'll have a couple more tickets punched tonight. Excited to see what'll happen here and really been a remarkable first week of conference tournament play. And again, you'll see some of these teams matched up at least two that would be matched up against the 16 seed. And as a one, that means you're going to be seeing the Michigan's the dukes. Certainly out there, the Arizona's against some of these teams we're mentioning today. Can't wait to see what those numbers look like when you get to next Thursday and Friday. If you can believe that the big dance is going to be upon us before you can you can blink an eye. How about the associations we get ready for the second season there and numbers are still changing and I think the biggest money mover so far it's the Boston Celtics. The team we talked about a lot waiting, waiting, waiting, then Tatum came back didn't look good early against the Mavericks and then they blew the doors off the maps in the second half. Tatum looked just fine. He looked really good
and when yesterday against the Cavaliers, they have shot up now to around a dollar $50 40 to win the Eastern Conference here. Cavaliers back over $3 here. So those demarcation lines, Jensen are starting to show and really it's the return of their superstar in Boston. I think selfishly watching my Cavaliers and full disclosure, I was on then the money line yesterday. I felt like this could be one of those spots you stand up. You had everyone back except for Jared Allen. Boy, did they get their doors blown off and then some other final score, not indicative of how dominant Boston was from most of this game should be frightening to the rest of the Eastern Conference. I agree with you in the market that the Celtics should be the top ranked team. I told it to you the last handful of weeks, right? I felt the Cavaliers best road. If indeed they're going to compete, not that you can cherry pick your way to the foreseed, but I told you I will take my chances with them. If they are able to get past that first round matchup right now, it begins the Raptors and then the pistons should take care of business against
the playing winner. I would wholeheartedly want them in a second round matchup with Detroit other than having to play Boston or the New York Knicks in the second round, not a viable path in my mind if you're holding Cavalier futures. By the way, Spurs blow out the Rockets. Rockets have drifted 20 to one now as they've actually drifted behind Minnesota. If you can believe that now as the fifth betting choice out west of Spurs plus 475, the Lakers get a nice win. And we kind of talked a little bit about it. An hour number one. It was we were kidding with JVT as we whether you take the Lakers seriously, they're 45 to one to win the West, but they really they do clearly show they're better without LeBron and the four, right? I don't know what you do with that. If you're JJ Redic in the second season, but the numbers don't lie there, do they? Listen, the Lakers are got off of with LeBron time to go, pal. The Knicks, you lay an egg, though, an opportunity to be able to go in. The Lakers were like Owen 12 ATS in this scheduling spot headed into yesterday. So that tells you all you need to know. No LeBron, no problem. Let me give you one quick note. And this from Sean
Grande voice of the Boston Celtics, he was talking about some comparisons. You mentioned the Spurs blowing out the rockets and the Celtics taking care of the Cavaliers. The NBA best record since February 1st, Dave, the San Antonio Spurs at one, the Boston Celtics at two, this per Sean Grande play by play voice of the Celtics, the NBA net rating since February 1st, number one, San Antonio, number two, Boston. The best NBA defenses since February 1st, the Boston Celtics, number one, the San Antonio Spurs, number two, guess what happens to tomorrow night, Dave, we get the San Antonio Spurs against the Boston Celtics. That is going to be a potential NBA finals preview right there. If you want to bet Okshay Betia to win at the players, the crown jewel, the PGA tour, some call it the fifth major, maybe they're going to make it a major after all. Who knows? You can bet Okshay Betia right now 46 to one to win this week. If you bet on last week,
tip of the cap to you people because I didn't see this back nine coming from Okshay, he started the back nine five back of Daniel Berger and he runs him down beats him in a playoff. He's now one three times in the PGA tour, all three times in a playoff, Jensen, this kid at 24 does not bow down a pressure. He's four million dollars richer and that putter. I don't know if it's legal or not, because it looks like it's very close to anchoring there. People were talking about that, but he's getting it done here with that long broomstick. Okshay Betia right now is that guy like Chris Goddard up, Jensen, the young guns have arrived in their 20s. There's only 24 and the kids make some noise in the PGA tour. Credit to him, you know, you always look at final round deficits, right? We would sometimes identify players that are three or four strokes back on a gettable course and it looked like the response yesterday that it was, but is this more of Okshay Betia capitalizing or is this Daniel Berger having yet again, another lead late where you can't get it
across the line. I think overall just a credit where it's due. Betia has really played consistently all the way through. Idea for you, because we know we like our cross board parlay is here. Okshay Betia is 60 to one to win the masters right now. If you parlay him with Duke to make the final four. So Betia to win the masters and Duke to make the final four, that gives you Betia at 94 to one to win the masters if you like that. I don't think he's going to win the masters, but I didn't think he'd run down Daniel Berger in the back nine yesterday either. So I'll figure that out. By the way, if you haven't downloaded the free upside app, again, free is the key word there. I've done it. You can do it. Can I wait to talk some Metz baseball here coming up a little bit later on with Max Goodman in hour number three. Of course Zachary Cohen is going to join us as well. But we're doing the daily diamond breaking down every single team before we get to opening day in Jensen. I mean, you start to do it. It's kind of be here. Pretty darn soon people. So let's get right to it with today's edition of the daily diamond. Been a long time since Kirby Puckett. It's back to the wall. We'll see it tomorrow night. Wind twins have not been doing a whole lot of winning here Jensen in recent years last year. Just 70 wins for this team. Totally underachieved. We saw the ownership shake up that they had there. What we're doing with some of our best players. Obviously did not make the playoffs last year. Is there any reason for optimism this year in Minnesota or could it
actually dare I say be worse? Well, it'll be fascinating to watch. Again, Derek Shelton, their new manager is second tour of duty there in the Twin Cities was the former bench coach of then manager Rocco Baldelli. So not a lot to hang your hat on and already some bad news with the injury to Pablo Lopez. And he will be lost now for a significant amount of time and not only through this year, but anxious to see with this Tommy John surgery. If he does end up missing time next year, we'll see every every guy is different with their rehab timeline. So huge blow losing their ace for the entirety of the 2026 season did get some good news here this morning that Joe Ryan will make his spring training debut and we'll be back with the twins after a setback in camp earlier in spring training. A lot of where you look at the Minnesota twins this year will come on the injury front. Unfortunately, and a lot of their key pieces
most notably on the offensive side, and Byron Bucston and Royce Lewis have derailed in the last handful of years. Now Byron Bucston was actually relatively healthy last year and you saw what happened when he's healthy. He's one of the more dynamic players in all of Major League baseball again. He's with team USA in the world baseball classic right now. So that's the hope is that he can get back to back years of production that will help really launch this offense. They bring in Josh Bell, your old friend there from your days in DC as a free agent in December. They did sign Victor Karen Teenie as well. He'll be their designated hitter at least to start the year. But this is still a lot of weight and sea on this offense. You look overall last year, they hit their fair share of homers. They were 11th in that department in Major League baseball. They were a bottom third scoring offense and and that's really in a division where there's not really a lot of offense is outside of the royals and the tigers that you're like, okay, all right, they're going to provide some resistance. It's hard to watch a team that you just don't know the
consistency of what they're going to score night in and night out. When I looked at this club for our Major League betting guide, the name that I kind of circled around was their top prospect in Walker Jenkins. Now he's had a couple of injury issues to deal with in spring trading. He's a number 14 overall prospect in Major League baseball. If this team is going to contend in the central division, I think it's going to have to be some influx from within. You look at Walker Jenkins, a young prospect they have in Emmanuel Rodriguez overcoming an oblique injury last year but is already off to a very hot start in spring training. I don't think either of these guys break with the Major League team, but Dave, if this offense needs a shot in the arm, it might have to be those promotions sooner than later. And again, in a in a division where I feel like people are going to be looking up at Detroit, you're going to have to find a way to stay with this group
out of April and even into the early part of May. So that lends me to Joe Ryan is going to have to be very good. Bailey Oberg is going to have to be awesome for them. The back end of the rotation Simion Woods, Richard Sintage Bradley, Mick Abel, maybe a guy off the beaten path. They have a youngster there that has had a really nice start to spring training. Their rotation is going to have to carry the day and the back end of the bullpen is going to have to close out leads. If they've got leads late early, you've got to get those wins banked because they can't afford to lose early series and find themselves a week at a first place when the calendar turns to May. Nine to one to win the central. You see the win total sitting at 72 and a half to make the postseason plus 425. Again, I don't know that they can win 85 86 is a wild card team. I mean, you have to go well over that win total to even be in consideration. If the Tigers are a 90 win team, win another Tigers are, but in that division, if you try to do that math as to how they could get
there, I think that postseason says to me wild card. I don't know if nine to one's really in play to win the central, but with the elephant in the room that is the workstoppage that almost feels, and you tell me if I'm wrong, it almost feels inevitable at this point that we're going to get some sort of disruption here after the season. Does that mean that at the trade deadline, the rich will get richer and other teams like potentially the twins with a buyer and Bustin, for instance, would just say anything that we have a value, fire sale, come take it. How does that affect certain teams, certain markets and how they approach it before we get to what could be baseball Armageddon on the horizon? Hard to say today, Dave, because everyone's zero and zero. And I think with especially teams in the mid market, which would be pretty much every team outside of Chicago in the American League Central, I'd be hard pressed to think this ownership group and they were going to sell,
they're not going to sell, they are going to sell, you know, it's remarkable to see kind of where that yo-yo was and it really did hamper how the twins could approach their off season. As I said, Josh Bell is their big quote unquote free agent signing or acquisition. And so a lot of where they're future is Dave is already internal. And unless they were to be just so far out of it by the all-star break, I don't know if you end up trading anyone other than Byron Bustin. I mean Royce Lewis is 26. He'll be 27 this year. Obviously, the injury issues have really hampered his ability to be an everyday guy. Bustin is going to be 33 by the end of this season. And if you do trade him, it ends up being a pseudo white flag, you know, because that is right face of the franchise. But I think smartly, and they also had a front office shake up Derek Falvey is no longer the
president baseball operations. That was kind of a come out of nowhere moment here before spring training really got underway and earnest. I think the twins would have to be double digits out of a playoff spot if they're going to entertain trading Byron Bustin. Again, as I said, way too early to look at those potentials at this point. But if there if this team is going to compete and I'll kind of go back to what I said in our in our visa embedding guide, the young fielders must take big steps forward for the offense to contend and you're looking at names like Luke Keishel. I think it's going to be a really nice young player. Trevor Larnick, they're left fielder Matt Walner, who's been around for a little bit now a couple of years. Ryan Jeffords, sort of their their veteran catchers got a little bit of pop in that back Brooks Lee is going to be their starting shortstop. Like there's a young contingent here, Dave. And as I mentioned, you could have Walker Jenkins, I mean, you'll Rodriguez up before the all star break. If they really want to see what they have for the future, it's been a boatload of turnover as far as the pitching
staff is concerned, the injury to Pablo Lopez for the year is massive. It's a massive loss. There's no getting around that. So if they don't have the offensive continuity early, this thing could get off the rails quite quickly. But if they tread water through April and May, you know, this is the American essential man, anything is possible. You saw the the Tigers give up a 15 and a half game lead last year. And the guardians were as bad of an offense overall as it could be, yet they come back to win the division. Yeah, I'm looking at this thing and you know, me try to be class half full. And certainly when I'm looking at win totals, I just don't see how I could play an over 72 and a half. That's gone up to and a half wins from what they only 170. So again, we're trying to find value here. And I'm kind of with you. If it feels like to me, this would be a team I'd look to fade. There's no way I can get involved at plus 425 to make the postseason. Doesn't feel like there's value in that number to me, looking at it as wild card or bus because I you're right. Anything can happen in this division. They're the fourth betting
choice for a reason. And I do we like the royals in this division. Obviously with the Tigers there, guardians always feel competitive. So I'm kind of with you. This feels like a team. I'm going to be staying away from the Minnesota numbers here before we see what they look like here in the first two months. Check out our friends over at Sharp plays. They were founded back in 2011. And they just completed another really good run in 2025. It's documented. That's how we know that it's true. So records and logs posted publicly at sharp plays.com for full performance auditing. Something that separates sharp plays from most of the betting industry. So they are respected watched and feared for a reason. Start winning with these guys over at sharp plays.com. So they're going to help you go up against those billion dollar books. You don't have to do it all by yourself. The NFL, that's a multi-billion dollar industry. We'll talk about the NFL. You can legally tamper now, kids. Who might they tamper with next year? Peace and by the books. You're too dim to be sent by the books right here on visa.
We get to be sent by the books here on this Monday morning. You want to save money of the pump. It's so easy to do. So all you got to do right now is become download the upside app. When you do that at upside.com, you will save 25 cents back per gallon on your very first fill. It is quite simple to do. I drive all over the Tennessee Kentucky border and trust you, me, I'm saving money every day with the free. I stress free upside app. Just download it on your phone today wherever you find an offer. Go to the station, fill it up. Boom. You get money back right to back to your card or you gift card. Whatever you prefer. So again, upside.com for all of the details. I'm going to have Will Hill join the program in the very next segment. Will has got some very interesting plays out there in college basketball that we'll talk about in some in baseball, too, that I want to get to. But as we've talked about here off the top of the show, right now, you can not now, but a little bit later on this morning, high noon on the East Coast, you can legally tamper. But we've already got news breaking this morning. This is not unexpected. And it is official that we knew the new ownership there and certainly leadership,
with the GM and the head coach in Miami. We thought the John Eric Sullivan, the GM now, the new GM would move on from to a tongue of I lower. They're going to do that. And the new GM informing to and his camp that we will be releasing you. This is a post June one designation. So what that means by cutting to a they will still take on an NFL record 99 million in dead cat money. That will be split up over two years. So what about 45, 44 million or yeah, close to that, now that'd be right, 49, 50 million year for the next two years. However, they split that up. But we talked about John Eric Sullivan, Jeff Haffley. They wanted a fresh start at the quarterback position. Jensen, it is official to a not coming back to Miami. We mentioned Kyler Murray out there. He feels like there's actually going to be some sort of market for Kyler. I wonder what the legal tampering is going to do because now that he's going to be set for this June one designation, he will be available to other teams. No shock, other than the record amount of of cat money.
So anxious to see just from a veteran standpoint, you know, do you bring, I heard a rumor that with the injury to Michael Pennex that potentially the Atlanta Falcons might be a place early on where he could come in with Kevin's defancy, be a facilitator there. And maybe that is a bridge to where the Falcons might be a viable destination. So we'll see what happens, but may not alive. What a ridiculous amount of money that the Alphans have on their books. This is a programming reminder right here on Visa by the books. This is going to be a lot of phone. We do this. Did it last year? You're going to do it again this year for the next 32 shows to get us to the NFL draft. We'll begin our countdown in earnest here during the daily gridiron each and every day. So again, this will be our second year gents and the view and I doing this just like we do daily diamond. So we will be breaking down every single team in earnest one a day. And again, this news with the free agency period, which begins at noon today Wednesday at 4 p.m. is going to
be the new week year. That's when it officially starts here. So those are when these deals are finalized and they actually take action. Some of those deals that we saw and talked about Max Crosby big deal, massive deal here. We didn't know if the Rangers would trade them. Remember, we were talking about this last week about, well, would they really be willing to trade Max Crosby? They did for two first round picks. The rumors were the Cowboys weren't discussed this year, but they were only offering a first and a second round pick. And the Ravens offered two number ones. So that's why he's now in Baltimore. Gina Smith was released. Gina put out an interesting tweet there about how God is good. Seems like he's very happy to be out of that situation. We'll find out of Gino has a backup market out there. You mentioned Will Mac and hour number one. He is back one year, $18 million, fully guaranteed. Chargers really doing some things up front that people should be taking note of with the offensive line and the defensive line. Jordan Davis speaking of interior defensive lineman here for Eagles, three years, $78 million extension there. So Conor Governe
note hit know him very well from his downstays four year, 52 million dollar extension to state in Buffalo, talented guard center playing center these days in Buffalo. Jill Mixen was released from the from the Texans. And how about the Lions and Taylor Decker? He's gone. That offensive line taking a lot of changes there in Detroit. Is that your Franklin comes over to the Packers? So the linebacking core of Green Bay just gets better and deeper here. I think we have to start obviously with the Max Cosby news. Two number ones, Jensen. That was the going right in the end of the day here to get Max out of Las Vegas. Really good stuff here. If you are the Raiders because not only is it draft capital, but it also further expands what will already be an absolutely gargantuan amount of cap space over 121 million available in Dave in our day and age of where we are in the NFL. Yes, your backbone is being able to build through the draft. They're going to get their franchise quarterback barring something completely unforeseen at number one overall and Fernando Mendoza. They
now have another opportunity in this first round to be able to add a piece that you would envision isn't immediate contributor. Okay. So they're going to pick again right now at pick number 14. So you have number one and number 14 in this year's draft. Next year, you're also going to have something unforeseen to first round picks. But I think with this amount of cap space and what we have available via free agency, that leadership group is going to have to have an opportunity with Clint Kubiak and his idea that we're going to be able to to not only build this thing quite quickly. I think I saw Lewis Riddick say on ESPN that he thinks this could be in two years that they could get back the viability and contendability. That to me feels ridiculous just knowing that you would have to bank on Fernando Mendoza at least getting half the year of starts. I don't know if you're starting him right away. You probably bring it a veteran at least for the first half of the season
and allow him to learn and on ramp. But but that's a lot of ability Dave to be able to shape your franchise not only in draft capital, but in free agent dollar wiggle room as well. I want to get back to the two of deal very quickly with John Eric Sullivan as the new GM their Jeff Haffley. This is the leadership group of Green Bay that's come down there. We don't know what they're going to do at quarterback. But there's a lot of speculation about Moeek Willis being that guy. But with this record and I'm doing a stress this a record cap hit of 99 million dollars in dead cap money. So that is I mean how many players right then and there do you lose the opportunity to sign in this tampering period that's going to begin here at noon on these coast. So that is a lot of money that you cannot spend. But we've seen recent examples of this just go to Denver when you had Sean Payton taken over very similar to what's happening here at Jeff Haffley in the GM in John Eric Sullivan that that Sean Payton said, I just don't want this guy in my my roster and we'll take a dead cap hit here for a couple of years in Denver. They did this
and they got better instantly once they made that move on from Russell Wilson even with the dead cap hit that they're going to have to take the reason why I bring this up is their win total is the lowest in the week Miami at four and a half. Again, it doesn't mean necessarily that it's going to be Malik Willis, but it does feel like if we're connecting dots that maybe it's not going to be cheap because we're hearing the going rate could be 40 million out there for guy like Malik. So you start to go how much can they really afford to spend at this position. They got quenures in the roster. I don't know that they want to go that route. But Jensen I almost feel like a blind trust. The schedule is not going to come out to what May 13th. I think it is when the official schedule comes out here for the dolphins and the rest of the NFL. But at four and a half wins at minus $10. If I wanted to blindly back the ownership group that they're starting to make the correct moves and they're doing that today with this two of news. I got burned playing the under and the Saints and the lowest win total year ago. I'm actually looking at this and I don't know how good the AFC East is going to be
as a whole with the Patriots taking a perception of a step back. The jets still look like they could be the worst team arguably with the dolphins there. Is that a playable number trusting the brain trust and the new leadership group in Miami? selfishly no. I won't play any win total at all blindly until I have pretty much the amount of information on on roster construction in front of me. But to each their own on that front. And again, if you are shooting across the bell in the dead of night at zero dark 30, then you know, that's that is a real leap, especially if you trust that front office, that green bay kind of thinking and knowing that the fence of mine at head coach, perhaps you're in some more games. Just looking at overall right now, when you have the dolphins as far as their cap room, they're actually just a million dollars over in their top 51 cap space. So they're actually going to have a little bit more wiggle room. I think then people realize, but anxious to see what happens on the court about you and I both know it starts with the signal color. You got to get that part right if you're the dolphins. If you're
going to have any chance to win games upcoming this year. And again, it's it's like one of those, you know, blink twice if it's going to be Malik Willis. You can't say anything yet legal tampering. But we, you know, like I'm sure you I think the biggest charade here is that they haven't had conversations already. You know, like John Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hathley have already had got like, because this period is supposed to start at noon, Jensen. I mean, I was in DC when Albert Haynesworth became the highest paid defense player in the history of the league. And they made the official announcement a minute after the window opened. I mean, come on. What are we doing here? But this is why they call this legal tampering, right? They've already been illegally tampering if you gave them truths here. Yeah. Agreed. The Tremac Duffy record breaking extension will become official on Wednesday. You know, we'll get the Khalil Max signing coming up too. So a lot going on. And when the league here starts on Wednesday, a lot more to happen as well. I think the Duffy's just blink twice. It's going to be Malik Willis. All right. When we come back, let's get to the king of Connecticut. Will Hills got some plays
that he likes here in some of these smaller tournaments today. And maybe even some baseball talk in the WBC. Very interesting conversation. Coming up next with Will Hill on Vs Medivots. If you are not listening to the should a bit more podcast, what are you waiting for there? Fantastic pod that our own will hill puts out here on visa and give a follow on X at not the will hill joins us down the progressive guess line. Got a lot to get to in college basketball, maybe some WBC talk as well. But we do have a debut. If you're watching on Fandool sports network, get ready for some ultimate cuteness on the program. Will can you introduce the newest addition to the will hill family here on visa by the books? Yeah, we got Charlie Hill here. So forget Connor Griffin, you know, JJ Weatherhole rookie of the year. It's Charlie Hill. It's his award to lose. He wanted to make his debut. So he is a star now. He is on TV. He wanted some film time. I think I could put you down in a minute.
We got him two weeks ago. He was seven pounds. He's all the way up to 12. So he is not as big. All right, not as easy to lift as he was a couple weeks ago. But he is being well fed here at the hillhouse. Oh my. Well, well, well, great to see. Oh, man, and he will be around because I would imagine he has some underdog picks that he likes. I know I'll see myself out, but really good stuff, buddy. Great to have him in the folder. And of course, a fixture will be here on visa by the books moving forward. Hey, this has been a spot that you have really advocated for, especially not only with early college basketball tip times, but also some first half unders. Do you have a couple of opportunities for the audience here this morning? Yes, we get two title games tonight firm in an ETSU and then Georgia Southern is also playing tonight. And I made a mistake yesterday because I played. So I'm playing both first half unders 165 and a half. The other 70 71 and a half shop around there. There's some varieties. But trafficking says both 65 and have 71 and a half.
But I made a mistake yesterday. I broke my own rule. I played. There was four title games. I played all four full game unders. The full game unders went one and three. The first half unders went three and one. And here's the problem. And look, unders are a good idea for title games because the pace slows down. Max intensity. People come out a little tight. Same reason you like game seven unders. But the fouling at the end of these conference title games makes the overs almost unbetable because you know, you get just down 15. These teams are fouling with 15 seconds left, down 15 with 30 seconds left. Fairfield last night, 15 point game, 15 seconds left, they're fouling. So it's very hard to bet these unders for the full game. I think with over time, the fouling, you're much better off just doing the first half. You know, it's a good thing that you introduced Charlie in the program today because I didn't know if we were going to actually have you back if you're seeing one of your picks in the A10. And I got a Charlie's wreaking havoc on Will going to set. This is fantastic. Will,
I got to ask you about a long shot in the A10 that you have my old neck of the woods. Is this 2000 and what six all over again? Do you really think George Mason might be able to make some noise here in the A10? Wouldn't it be ironic? Wouldn't it be interesting 20-year anniversary here of George Mason made another run 20 years? And it's hard to believe it's been 20 years since George Mason made a run. But look at their pace. Three 61 in the country out of 365. They play slow. And they're 40 to one to win the A10. The two top teams, St. Louis and VCU in that conference. They beat both of them. They just beat St. Louis by 30 points. To me, George Mason, I know they got to win four games in four days, but George Mason at 40 to one is very live. St. Louis is not played well here the last few weeks or so. I think George Mason's worth a flyer here to win the conference. A little too ironic, don't you think? It's in a little more set line there for dropping some bars for the kids back home. Okay, another double digit shot that you've got in a conference tournament
that starts this week as well. In the Mountain West and you're looking to the Rams of Colorado State, how did we get there? I mean, it's a very intriguing conference tournament for people that have not watched a lot of Mountain West basketball this year will. Yeah, another team I like here with a team that can control the pace. Colorado State 25 to one at Draft Kings. Again, they got a winning extra game. So it's always important. Look at the bracket. Is it better off to do the Moneyline Rollover? And we had one last week go down in a horrific fashion Charleston Southern 30 to one up seven, 29 seconds left about to go to the semis where they would have been favored and they absolutely gagged it. But to me, Colorado State, there's some value here. They play slow and they shoot almost 40% from three. So those are to me recipes for an upset. I like Colorado State here at a long number. I just showed my age a little bit guy speaking about George Mason in that run in 2006. I actually covered that team, Jim Warenegan company in Indianapolis. And I was doing a piece of boys on the on the bus with the players and the chew eaters. And I thought I am too old to be
on this bus. That was 20 years ago. Let's get to some baseball talk here, Will. And I am stunned that you're going to play. And I like to say you can make good money on bad teams. Arguably one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball. It could be the Colorado Rockies year in a year out. But Will Hill, are you going to take a walk on the wild side and actually believe that the Rockies might be able to win dare I say 55 or more games this year? I do like Colorado. I just think their floor is much higher with Cantana with Lorenzen. To me, they brought in just floor razors, professional pitchers, Depa Desta is an analyze guy. So I think they go over the 55 and a half here. I think this is, look, they played better second half of the year. I think they're much improved here second half in what they'll do this year. So to me, over 55 and a half, this is just too low. That's a lot of losses here for baseball season. I would agree. And Will, a great mind to think alike. That was the Mr. Irrelevant Pick, if you will, in our Vsyn MLB Futures draft by
yours truly. It was between the Rockies and the White Sox. Over 66 and a half was two of my top win-tools. And I agree wholeheartedly when you look at how the Rockies played towards the end of last year and what they have coming back. Yes, it's always a challenge to pitch their thank goodness. I did not have to do that myself. But I think the offense will be better. I think Hunter Goodman is a great guy if you're targeting season-long player props. He would be a guy at a 30 plus home run clip. That would be a great bet, especially having 81 home games there in Colorado. I know you and I and Dave, we'll jump into this and earnest here in the coming weeks. But we have a hell of a tournament in the world baseball classic right now. And we get a dandy tonight with Team USA taking on team Mexico. Now it has been a trip up spot traditionally for Team USA. There were one in three all time against Team Mexico. You got to go all the way back to the first round of the 2006 WBC in which they defeated Team Mexico to nothing. We get Paul
Skins on the Mount Captain America himself tonight. Maybe an overall feel for you on WBC and any actionable spots in this game or any others that you see moving forward. You know, just basic candycapping logic would tell me the value is on fading the US just because people want to bet the US or the best team. We're in the US. There's naturally value the other way. But I mean, if you look at the picture pitching for Mexico, it's a guy who's just a journeyman's putting it kindly, basically no experience. It's hard for C. It's hard to foresee him getting many out here. So the line looks justified to me. My problem with this and the people that love the WBC have to just go out of their way to not only love it, but tell you how much they love it and how you should love it too. My problem is it's just not competitive enough. You've got these spreads that are nine and a half, seven and a half. This is not, I mean, one is about how the US play a T-ball team. This is, you have too many teams in your tournament. If you've got these spreads of seven and a half and nine and a half Dominican was favored by seven runs yesterday. US is favored by nine and a half runs.
This isn't baseball. You just look, it's a good idea. It's a good concept. I like that the fans like it. The players are certainly into it. It's just there's not enough balance. There's not enough competition to justify this many teams. So that's, look, when you get to the semis, the finals, it'll be interesting. Those games will be fun, but it's just hard to watch these baseball games when you got such mismatches. I gave out Dominican to win at plus 450 Camanero and Soto, both MVP Flyers Camanero. Let's see. He was 80 to one. He's down to 16 to one. Soto's 28 to one. He's down to 20. So I'm rooting for those guys, but they got to do a better job balancing this and just having it more competitive. You know, we always talk about, and you talk about on your podcast, and this should have been more podcast a lot. You got to remember the wins that you shouldn't have gotten. I laid the nine and a half runs with USA the other night, never in doubt. If you go back and watch that ninth inning, I mean, that's one of the most remarkable, ridiculous wins of all time to cover that nine and a half run line there. So you would, you would though with schemes today, you'd laid the three and a half with USA. Yeah, I'd probably lean that way. I just don't know
that Mexico has the pitching here. It should be a fun atmosphere. Maybe this game's a little more competitive and it'd be nice to start to get some real games. I would lean towards lane it, but I'm not going to play these games. I'll start to tune. I will say this. They did also a better up with the schedule where they avoided March madness for the most part. The games are selection Sunday at night, the day after selection Sunday, and then the title game is that Tuesday, where all right, you're going against the Dayton games, but you're avoiding the start of the real NCAA tournament. Unlike three years ago, and they went head to head with the tournament. So better job from a scheduling standpoint here with the with the WBC. How's Charlie doing? Because I wish people at home could watch. We need a Charlie cam because he was really. Oh my goodness. What a disaster. What a terrible idea. I thought it would be a good idea. Get him on camera. Everyone loves the dogs. I put him down. He just starts trying to destroy everything. Who knows I thought you'd have like a house or a set up. There was a horrible idea. I apologize. Yeah, he's a cute dog, but my goodness. What a that was my favorite hit we've ever done with you will. We're all team Charlie here. Recavick on will. That was fantastic. There he is.
