And we get so much to get to is that the madness continues certainly in the NFL and beyond as well as we get ready for golf. UFC 326 on top of our college basketball Schmorgas board that we've got. Reed Kuhn pretty much the father of analytics in MMA is going to join us in hour two with a huge UFC 326 card. And Jensen as we continue the daily diamond Scott Merkins going to join us to talk all things white socks

2:00and a very interesting team potentially. Yes, on the south side of Chicago today. So we're going to get to all of that. As I mentioned, Jensen, the NFL they stopped for nobody. And that's where we begin with our highlights and headlines. Help your bottom line with today's highlights and headlines. It's kind of what they do. They being the Rams in a situation like this. Sometimes they say picks don't really need the picks. Four picks going to be exchanged for Trent McDuffy coming over from Kansas City. He's going to get a new deal once the lead calendar officially begins here to stay with the Rams long term. It's going to be three picks in this year's draft. One pick in next year's draft, including a number one pick this year, Jensen. What do you make of this move? I think it's a huge one here to kick off the NFL calendar. No doubt. Okay. So obviously this is the Rams understanding. They've got a finite window here with Matthew Stafford. They're going all in very far for the course for the old less need.

3:04You know, blank those picks. We don't need them because we want to try and maximize. Also works well for the chiefs here because they get some cap relief. Believe they were what? They're close to $50, $60 million over headed into this off season. So they were not going to be able to make McDuffy one of the highest paid cornerbacks. They're able to kind of get out from under that. So interesting to see if that opens up some opportunities for the chiefs now to be able to upgrade their roster as well. It is interesting business models like we talked about it with Seattle and the way that they spend their money and what the Rams do with those picks as you mentioned here, they do have another number one this year because of a trade they made with Atlanta last year. So they still do have that one, but they are going to give away several picks, including the second number one this year to the chiefs for Trent McDuffy massive move there. I don't think this is a shocked anybody here. If you know what's going on off the field right now with Stefan Diggs, the Patriots have informed him is one year in New England is enough. He will not be returning to the Patriots next year.

4:06We'll see the legalities of Stefan Diggs and what's going to happen there. But he does feel like that type of guy now that if eligible, kind of a one year guy rental at best right now with whatever team he might catch on with next year. I think that's the uniqueness too of what are you willing to take on and because he is 32, I think he is going to be turning 33 if that is before the season or during the season. Either way, I think this is more so another cap driven move here. It was a low salary that I think he was going to have Dave, but the cap hit was upwards of 10 and a half million. So the base salary would have jumped significantly and his cap hit too. So again, we're probably going to see a lot of these as we get closer to the new league year beginning. Would you say March 11th is the official start of the new league year. So we'll see some of these dominoes start to cascade as we get through and all the bean counters get everything in line.

5:07Yeah, about midweek next week, everything will be made official. All these news and nuggets that we've been giving out here in the program all week, but they will not be official until that league year officially opens. And again, the step on digs, he did feel like he was having a turn back the clock type year last year with Drake May. And then you saw what happened once the stuff came out about what was going on off the field and he seemed like he dipped back in reverted. So I don't know if it was just all the off the field stuff with step on digs, but he was having a nice year up until the end of it, but it is now officially over in the wingland. Big one of the NBA last night, the Thunder, Thunder do hang on to beat the nicks at Madison Square Garden by three 103 100. We talked about these kind of now getting down to the end of of 82 here in the regular season, which games mean more could could we see it down the road? Could it be a finals preview? That sort of thing any takeaways there? They don't cover the number, but they get the win if you're OK. See this was a massive comeback to the thunder up by significant double digits

6:07against the nicks here in the first half. And then New York kind of put the clamps on if you were an under player like I was last night, you were keeping your fingers crossed. We were not going to get an overtime scenario there. So the under 222 gets home. I think overall you look at where New York and something we talked about last week, Dave, if you're a better looking at the nicks down the stretch and probably even into the postseason, they have been an outstanding cover team at home. So just this instance here because of the short line, not one that they get across, but kind of moving forward, they're not out of it. So a great live spot if you jumped in. Nicks were upwards of double digit dogs on the spread at one point last night. So a big comeback for them. But again, this is why the thunder of the defending champs. You know, it's interesting now too. We've talked about this. We've tried to stay on top of it each and every morning here and be sent by the books. The changing numbers in the Eastern Conference. And after that loss last night, the number didn't change. The next thing right at four hours of Celtics.

7:07Again, expecting Jason Taylor back, maybe possibly tomorrow night at plus two 50. The calves right there at three to one and then the pistons at plus three 80. So those numbers have changed. Here's where the real demarcation allies in the Eastern Conference, Jensen. Remember when the sixers are about 11 13 to one, they're 22 to one. So as those numbers have changed in the big four, it really feels like that. The chasm has just gotten bigger from four to five from the next at four to one to the sixers at 22 to one. And yes, you could still get plus money. If you wanted OK, see to repeat at plus $1.40 to win the NBA title two years in a row. College basketball last night, Houston gets a win against Baylor. Kind of waiting to see what Houston, remember, 10 to one in the marketplace right now. What they're going to look like if they're really outside of that last number one seed potentially 13 point win there. I mentioned Purdue about laying numbers against Northwestern boy got dicey even for boiler up. They get the win, but only by four against Northwestern Arkansas. Wow, how much on Cal Perry?

8:08Something you alluded to yesterday, the program really put a weapon on Texas yesterday beat him by 20. Any of your takeaways there from the top 20 last night? Yeah, it's the team that Arkansas demolished there in the Longhorn. So they're probably still on that bubble watch here for the SEC conventional wisdom and things that we've sort of read here in in the last week or so seven quad one wins here for Texas. So their resume is still pretty solid, even after the blowout loss last night. Ninth overall right now in the SEC resume rankings, Bart Torbick, one of the great advanced analytic sites there that you can kind of look and see where the historical resumes have stacked up of teams making the tournament or not. Right now setting the at large chances for the long horns to get in. Up from 45% Dave the 77% even with the loss last night. So the SEC still in a great spot right now looks like seven locks from the southeastern conference Florida, Bama, Vandy, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia.

9:14The expected bids though Dave, that's the thing you circle might be upwards of at least another one or two SEC teams that could get in. So you're looking at Mizzou, you're looking at Texas Texas A&M and Boyle Boyle, you want to talk about some controversial Bruce Pearl and his son's Auburn Tigers now versus potentially the Miami of Ohio Redhawks, which resume should get a team in. So we'll keep on the bubble watch here as a SEC tournament will be getting next week with that win last night, produce number from 40 to one goes all the way to 40 to one. It does not move. We see that Arkansas with the with the win last night, they go to 60 to one, which is pretty much where they were a day ago. So these numbers starting to get cemented a little bit for some of these longer shots, but it is wild to see Purdue at 40 to one Kansas at 35 to one. When you think about the talent those teams had and where they were projected at the beginning of the year in college basketball and where they're rounding out right now. Well, what a big one. It does feel like with their Arnold Palmer, invitational. That's going to be getting underway here very, very soon as this East Coast swing continues down there in Florida.

10:20Of course, when you've got Scotty Shefford, teeing it up on a Thursday, you have to kind of look and see is he going to be a pace car this week is he going to get out there and run because if he doesn't Jensen. It feels like the plays and we'll get to our place here in the very next segment right here on Visa by the books this morning. I hate to say it, but I've said it before to you. It does feel like if Scotty does something on Thursday, it's almost like he takes care of business early when he has these bad starts to the week, which he's done here on the PGA tour in recent weeks. It feels like it opens itself up for the field. Do you handicap it the same way that if Scotty goes out and shoots a 500 in the first round to be very tough to do in this golf course, it kind of feel like he can put it to bed early. That could be the case. I think I'm interested to hear kind of your consensus lean on you for those first round rabbits and sort of where that could be from a live action standpoint. This this will be in as we we heard from Rex hogger yesterday, of course, West Reynolds giving us a preview of Bay Hill. If you can hit it a long way, you're going to be in good shape, but it's accuracy to with that link that's if you've got both early, you're going to position yourself really well to be in the weekend and possibly in contention on Sunday.

11:32Yeah, like a guy like Cam Young, who you know how much I like to bet him last year, he would be a guide, look for it. If he could hit the fairway with his Mike problem is, can you be accurate and that's where Scotty normally has an advantage over the rest of the field. I told you about this at Jack's place of the memorial once that eventually happens and it will be devastating in this part of the country just because of how much the golden bear means not only to the game but also to the overall community. I mean Dave for people that have never been to Dublin there in the early part of June. It feels like a fifth major that is the topography of the course there at Mirfield the competition it feels like all the big boys want to play there because. Not only the tournament but the ability to shake the golden bears hand there on the 18th green so you know Arnie and we joked about it a little bit last week we're going to be really checking that birth certificate when Tiger Woods.

17:03It's one of the honorable starters there at Augusta whenever that does happen but I think overall just the handicap of the course and how much of a difference now we have from the west coast swing Dave and those elements it doesn't look like we're going to have any weather issues which is great. Here for the weekend so you could see some guys that as we said the accuracy in the distance whoever you feel and that's why I lean on you for a couple of ideas for people that still want to get some bets in here. If you wanted a couple of rabbits with that in mind anyone that really jumps out even if you weren't betting it would you have recommendations of people do you want to play right away. It's hard to go against cashmere Keith in the first round leader like if you want to bet Keith Mitchell on a first round leader for a longer shop for a guy that normally does not I don't say the staying power to do it for all four days but he feels like that type of player I did not bet Keith Mitchell first round leader I did bet a couple smaller place half unit place here. On some first round leaders and it's not going to be a surprise to you because I like both these guys here in the tournament as well I don't know that Jake nap can win at Arnie's place.

18:12Here's what I do know he's got stretches of golf and the way he's playing right now as good as anybody in the world I will take Jake to be you know Jake. Jake's my boy Jake is going to be my first round leader pick it at 30 to one I played to at at at quarter unit prices here Jake nap 30 to one outright leader with column work how. Who absolutely can win here this week and one thing I wanted to know is I did play the each way as we mentioned yesterday in the program that's one through eight. If you will that's basically four bats at one or two three and four five and six seven and eight at twenty to one reduced rate now the twenty to one is what's interesting Jensen when I made that play he was twenty seven to one in the outright to win and twenty to one in the each way market. Do you know what he is outright this morning at circa twenty one to one so I almost got the outright price for the each way because that number came way down and it tells me. And that's what I kind of thought wow this feels like a fair price and calling a twenty to one with all those different outs potentially and a guy that should have won this golf tournament last year now he's not the longest on tour he is accurate.

But overall it might be Collins iron play that I'm going to rely on he got around here just fine last year until Russell Henry rain him down with that eagle chip in and everything changed there on the back nine so give me Jake nap outright lead at fifty to one and give me calmer cala first round leader at half the price of Jake nap twenty five to one now. One price point here at circa that I couldn't say no the big sweet at a top ten at plus that the three seventy five it's a price point play for me gents and.

20:29He's playing better and I know right now he's kind of like the bane of my golf existence so far in this year because he's not been playing great but he's playing better so he got a top twenty the last time out two weeks ago in the last elevated field and I do think at a place like this and we heard it from Rex that every time he watches him on the range. He's not missing a ball he's not something is not transferring right now to playing more competitive golf at these elevated events so I'm not going to play him out right top ten for the big sweet at plus three seventy five that's my official card here for the API. Very good and again for people that are are just starting to dip their their toes into the shallow end of the golf scene here with us per what we did last year and very much you on on Thursdays. 23:00Step struck at forty six to one so again just trying to avoid the big dog and if he's right as you talked about then it's going to be tough sled and trying to run him and potentially worry McIntyre down as well. Absolutely this was a total that opened up at one forty three and a half went down to one forty one half pretty pretty much anything of one forty plus I do like the under here you've got yourself a Michigan state team that has been able to do an amazing job on defense and they do not let you get second chances nineteen point nine percent of opponent's missed shots becoming offensive rebound that is number one in all of college basketball top 30 team in terms of points a lot on a purpose as basis and it's not been great for Rutgers on offense they are outside the top two 60 in terms of points a lot for a possession basis and aside from last year when they had two lottery picks Rutgers has never played fast they're outside the top 70 in terms of total possessions premium Michigan state as you mentioned they're more around about

28:29280 fifth and with Michigan state I still don't understand this flip but they shoot over thirty nine percent for three parange away from home thirty two point seven percent for three parange at home so they've been a little bit of a wonky offense with that regard but I think that the defense just completely sucks the life out of Rutgers was seen this right around 18 F 19 F anything less than 20 I'm going to lay with Michigan state to go with that under very quickly the other game that tends to refer to their Michigan against Iowa if you don't like the Saturday total nine and a half is what we're seeing here one forty six and a half is the total I'm seeing Michigan right now is minus a dollar sixty to make the final four right but Duke is actually the betting favorite now minus seventy only three teams right now are in you got a lay price points here to make the final four Arizona is the first one at plus money that you'll get there are you concerned about Michigan all with the they lost one of their top reserves coming off the bench here is there's something we're missing with Michigan whether it's tonight and or I don't think they're in danger of potentially going deep in the NCAA tournament but is there any cause for

29:33to start with their health going into the conference tournaments and then the big dance itself I think they'll be fine that said I wouldn't be willing minus one sixty on any team to make the final four you just don't know what the draw is and in every single case in college basketball team can get overseed it under seated you don't want to be rolling those dice you'd much rather see the seeding come out and even if you did a money line roll over I'm sure that you probably get a little bit better the minus one sixty so that's something that I would not be Jones in the lay there that said I do like Iowa getting the nine to nine and a half year because they do a great job in terms of generating turnover say the one thing that does he may teams have had a little bit of a tough time with at Michigan the last few years have been turnovers they've a much better this year than they were a season ago that said they're so outside the top one sixty in terms of turnovers on a perpossession basis it's an Iowa team that has played much better when they've been at home rather than away from them then it's turrets has all sorts of versatility and Iowa out of three hundred sixty five division on teams they are three hundred sixty fifth that turns the

30:35total possessions for game they do a nice job of terms of slowing things down I think that that's going to be able to keep them lively here so with Michigan not willing minus one sixty on them to make the final four not willing to lay nine tonight I took the ship I took the points we are with Iowa shocker than Iowa a team in Iowa does not want to score a lot we are not the football season yet but that being the M.O. must be part of the DNA one of my favorite tournaments at least on on the lower levels here of the conference tournaments here Greg is the Patriot conference tournament because you get it at your own gym of the higher seeded team it's also unique too because you get a handful of off days in between some of these rounds two quarter final matchups I want to get your thoughts on today American and Boston University and then Loyola and Colgate I know you're looking at an under in one of these matchups and the great Steve McInton talking about looking at quarter final rounds the Patriot league tournament they've trended over is there a reason you like an under in one of these matchups in the quarter final today absolutely and I love
