I'm going to catch up with the King of Connecticut. Will Hill before this show is done. Jets and the Daily Diamond is back into our lives. You and I love doing this last year. As we introduce this to our viewers. And I'm going to bring it back, obviously, for this year as well. And we did the San Francisco Giants earlier in the program. I thought you had a great breakdown of that team.

The next team we're going to discuss today a fountains up there in Kansas City. Now, this is one of the first plays that I made this year in the futures market is on the Kansas City Royals. So I want to get your thoughts on that, but also going to get Joe Goldberg's thoughts on it. He does a great job with the Kansas City Royals in their broadcast team and give him a follow-on. X at Goldberg in KC right there on X. Join us down the progressive guest line. Joel, great to have you on the program here. Jets and I are very excited about talking about this Royals team this year. Came up with a bit short last year in the wind totals, but this year, maybe the expectations are a little bit low. And I kind of like that as a better. Where do we go get the royals this year? Because I feel like this team might be better this year than the one we saw last year. Yeah, I think that our Dave, good to see you and kind of good to see Jenson just kidding. You know, I love you buddy. But I think that just start right out of the way. I'm that one. Let's go. I think they feel like they underachieved last year,

which I know everybody's going to say he felt a little bit short, but they were the playoffs two years ago. They went backwards a little bit last year. They fully expect to go forward last year. And I think too, I don't know. You guys know this better than me. Is that number low because of what they did last year because two years ago, you know, I think the number I don't, you guys may remember it may not was higher last year. They also came in the last year saying, you know, odds are we're not going to be as healthy as we were in 2024. They're not the greatest predictors of all time, but odds would have told you that if they were so perfectly healthy or close to it in 2024, something was going to go wrong in 2025 and it did. Joel, we've watched enough of this team and I think last year looking out of the shoot, if this team offensively were league average and they had a healthy coal regans, I think they make the postseason and then some. That to me was out of the gates. They had to make up so much ground, if you will, with Detroit being as hot as they were. From where you saw them last year,

to what we have out in camp in Arizona this year. And of course, headline with Bobby with junior will be an MVP candidate. Is this team better year over year? From where you see them right now headed in 2026? Yeah, I think, you know, on paper, they're incrementally better. I think that they were able to make some small gains, which I think that they've said for a number of years, two gents and I think this is probably true of just about everybody in the division. I don't know, I mean, I suppose that, I mean, there's no Yankee type of team or any payroll like that. So you got to find a way to get better on the margins and I think that they did that on paper by going out there. I mean, they traded it on on health Serpa, who is a good, life-tested reliever for them. And they're able to get back Isaac Collins, who fills a lot of holes for them and a switch hitter and a guy that gets on pay. So that should make the offense better at this point. They also got a reliever in that deal. They went out there and they traded away Jonathan Bolin, who was a long reliever.

I was turning into a shorter reliever, actually, but a former starter and they upgraded to Matt Strong. And so they feel like they upgraded their bullpen. They feel like they did upgrade their lineup. They were looking for one big, not big name, but bigger hitter, someone that could get more towards the middle of that lineup. Maybe they found a piece of that in signing Starling Marta the other day, who I don't think will start every single day, but suddenly gives you a very proven bad against left-handed pitch, getting a good numbers last year. So I think they're better, but I'll still get back to the health and the pitching. They went in the last year with a decent amount of depth in the rotation and there came a point where they only had three guys. And that's why they ultimately ended up trading Friday for me for Ryan Berger and Steven Colelek and suddenly they had to rebuild back. We ended up seeing the debut of Noah Cameron last year because of the health of Cole Regans and maybe just a little bit earlier than some people expected. He ended up being third in Rookie of the Year, voting in the American League. So now suddenly they've got this rotation again.

It has seven, eight, nine guys in it. Joe, when you look at MVP and Jensen mentioned it here with Bobby with Jr. that he will be right now is the second betting choice behind Aaron Judge in New York to win MVP in American League. I mean, so I think everybody at least in the betting market says we know how good this guy is. For the people that don't watch him every day like you do. Can you tell the people that might not be watching a lot of Kansas City Royal baseball? Why Bobby with Jr. is up there in the MVP consideration? I think you just start with the fact that he's a legitimate five-two player and how many five-two players are there in the game anymore? And he's a legitimate five-two player playing shortstop. So can you bat him first? There's some talk about that actually right now because they've been batting him a little bit lead off because that's what he may do for the team USA for World Baseball Classic. So that could be interesting too because they haven't really had a lead off man and does he turn into that lead off man and you gotta start with him? Either way, he's gonna contend to lead

for the league and hits every single year. There's still more power in there but he could hit for power. The speed is obviously off the charts and the defense is just, I mean it's jaw-dropping to watch what he does. He makes one of those type of plays almost every single night. Here's the other piece to it guys and let's not forget he's just 25 years old. He's got four years in the big leagues already. He's a quiet kid, not someone that won't talk incredibly polite, he's a true Texas, yes or no sir, kind of guy as polite and respectful as you can but I think he's finding his voice a little bit too. He's considered one of the leaders on his team or a quiet leader but every one of those guys looks of him because he's doing freakish things. I mean the guys that are in that clubhouse right now know that they're playing with a guy that one day they'll tell their grandkids about. That's the easiest way to put it. So he does everything well. I think everybody at this point believes that he's a future hall of fame type. Obviously we're early in his career

but if you look at what he's already done and I love the fact that he says well I guess last year was a down year because he was a little bit under where he had been the year before and it's like no I think most teams would take that almost any day of the week but he's becoming more of a leader. He's becoming, he was never lacking confidence by the way. He understands so much of this team revolves around him. No doubt he could be an easy 30-30 candidate this year and that's where I want to go offensively big changes there at Kaufman Stadium and significant to our audience because it will not only affect how the offense may be overall here Joel but also some totals. When that weather gets hot and humid as you and I well know there ball starts to travel for people that don't realize how significant the changes are to left field and right field as far as the fences coming in from your vantage point. What will that do for the Royals offense right out of the shoe? You know what I think and Jenseny you loved pitching in Kansas City in say April or Cleveland or Detroit right I mean nobody likes to hit those places

in April or May and and there's something to that too. I mean why does Cleveland and and Kansas City why do teams like that seem to struggle out of the gate offensively they're not the only ones by the way playing in cold weather cities either but when you add in the ballpark and the weather it becomes a really tough place to hit early in the season. I'd say this guys that at least based on the studies they did and it's like if you're into numbers and I'm not talking the way that you guys are into numbers but but there's some similarity in the sense of just this deep dive of dissecting maybe what others can't find the amount of research that the Royals did and I suspect any teams analytical department analytics department would do this but the amount of research they did on weather patterns and what happens if they move it in this far and what does it do for this number and what does it do for this it's unbelievable what they did I think the number that they ended up coming up with is that they expect that this would lead to like one extra home run per series so it's not like suddenly there's one at two more home runs per game it's not like

suddenly Kaufman Stadium is a home run hitters park I think there are a couple things that happen and I think that this will certainly be of interest to to your viewers as well and to you guys is that I think it's just going to affect their overall offense I think you're going to see more doubles balls that we're going to be caught at the warning track now maybe going off of the wall we know I mean Jensen you you know that the challenge one of the challenges of pitching a Kaufman Stadium is all that open space in the outfield and so if flyouts to the warning track are now turning into doubles or triples up doesn't have to be another home run it does put a runner in scoring position so I think it makes this offense better how much better I don't know and I don't know how much that'll show up in your numbers but I think you will see more offense from the royals and other teams as well and then I think the other last piece to it is just the the psychological standpoint you know those players are going to be good about no not going on camera and complaining about this and that it is their home stadium and they love it there but there are a lot of times where they're going

back to the dugout saying that should have been something more and not three times a year or six or seven times a year for teams in the division that come there 81 times a year enjoying our conversation here with Joel Goldberg from the Kansas City Royals broadcast team we only have about a minute to go here Joel who should I get more excited about in this rotation should it be Chris Boobich coming off injury because he was up there we're talking about him up there for sight young for a little bit last year or Noah Cameron as you mentioned earlier coming off that rookie year which one of those guys are the quote back into the rotation should I be more excited about I like them both and they're interesting two lefties I think in terms of statistics and abilities I think that both of them you should be excited about but they're also in different places of their career Boobich is getting closer to to to free agency Boobich is getting with that maybe more of a trade candidate I've heard Cameron's name mentioned as a possible trade candidate as well with the surplus and pitching but you got a lot of years of service five more years of service here's a quick one and some people agree with this some people don't

but we saw a lot of this this past year Noah Cameron has some mark early in him for whatever that's worth he's just a guy that's going to figure it out and grind he's not going to overpower anyone but he's figuring out how to do it and he already has a pretty good idea at a very young age. Joel great conversation man thanks for joining us here on the daily diamond to break down the Kansas City was cannot wait to see what this team looks like in earnest going to do our major league baseball futures draft next right here on decent by the books. you're too dead to be sent by the books right here on visa we continue to be some of the most of the show spots right upside you can get paid right back every time you use the free upside app download the upside app right now you're going to get use the promo code books and it's going to get you back 25 cents per gallon on your very first fill up so it's very simple to do I've done it you can do it upside.com for all of the details great conversation with Joel Goldberg in the last segment talking off things Kansas City Royals baseball again did the giants earlier today so wherever you get your podcasts go back like subscribe to be some by the books you can hear gents this breakdown of the giants I do like their win total over 80 and a half check those during the break they're still available minus dollar 15 for the giants and I've already played the royals that was the first play I made a couple months ago here on their win total over same number 80 and a half as well so gents and I felt like we're pretty

bolstered in our belief after talking to Joel in the last segment we're going to have Will Hill join us in the next segment to get some of his thoughts on the betting card in college basketball and beyond but it's a very exciting time of the year not just march madness here at college basketball but with return of daily diamond we've got a new contest here and we're going to do a MLB futures draft lottery selection tomorrow right here in the network 1 p.m. Eastern on Veson and our YouTube page so Nickway one's going to host it it's going to be a snake draft there's going to be 10 participants gents and you sir our course one of said 10 we're going to have Adam Burke our managing editor gillog zander how would bender from fantasy alarm is serious xm Jeff Erickson from rotawire and right here at the network as well lance Lynn mark borscht going to be on the show as well so we've got 10 guys and Matt humans right there with Steve Phillips our former gm of the metropolitan says it's going to be there with Matt Brown as well so you see the

10 right there on fandal sports network if you're watching so what we're going to do because we are unbiased and a Lewis Ross administration we always transparent so we didn't want there to be any impropriety any looks of shenanigans on the network that's why I have this beautiful met sat right here underneath the gents and I have put the 10 names in a hat and I will then draft those names so we get the order of the draft for the show tomorrow we're going to go 10 down to one have you already looked at where you would like to draft obviously number one pick I think would be advantageous for anybody I think the snake draft part of it and knowing you know what the the certain criteria so for for us Dave we'll be picking a division winner we'll be selecting an american league or nationally pennant winner ale or nl manager of the year it got to pick a world series winner a win total over and a win total under american league nationally

MVP's a l n l sy young award winners and either an american league or nationally rookie of the year so the strategy similar to what we did for the NFL where we had that futures draft knowing you only have six divisions and we obviously know that there's going to be one heavy favorite there in the nationally west what will the strategy be for those that are picking down in the draft in the first round and when certain players or certain options leave how quickly the run in certain categories will happen all right so I've got the rally cap going here I've got the 10 names in a hat we're going to start going in reverse order remember there is a prize by the way 500-hour donation to the charity of the winners choosing so very very cool here for the MLB features draft here on the network very similar to the football one that I still feel like I should have won here we go the first pick of the draft jensen Lewis without looking number 10 it's jensen Lewis oh nice nice I do not know so number 10 you get that pick very

quickly I didn't think we'd be going to you this quickly in the pick what do you make of it you're going to get 10 and then 11 in the snake draft that's beautiful uh and again I would say most people would want to to kind of be in that bottom third just to be able to kind of see where those in front go and then be able to take you know some of those wraparound picks there I think that's phenomenal wow uh maybe maybe as good as I could have hoped to want to be either eight nine or 10 that worked out really well again notion and against jensen did not then then then mow me anything that was just the way it came out of the hat okay number nine right now in it it's mark borscht from a base winner so mark will be the ninth pick right after you that's going to be interesting because you're going to have to the go off mark here drafting here as we go so he's got the ninth pick right now in said draft let's get to number eight here we'll stop after five in the kind of reevaluate here jensen let me get through some of these names in the hat number eight on the bedding board will be Jeff Erickson coming in at eight so jensen you've got 10 mark is coming in at nine

Jeff now is going to be in at number eight from roto wire and of course there's a great job right here with Nick Whalen daily on the network let's get to number seven and number seven in the draft order will be Matt humans going to have Matt on the program tomorrow as we do our Tuesdays with Matt so Matt humans is going to be picking right now uh at number seven so Matt humans coming in there uh pretty solid pick there I don't know if he's going to like his position we'll talk about that tomorrow with Matt number six on the board right now in the draft order another Matt Matt Brown is going right now for Matt humans so the run on mats has certainly begun here as Matt Brown gets the number six pick okay before we get to the top five jensen what are you making this order of you mark Jeff and then the double match humans and Brown at seven and six boy what what a what a fascinating part here because uh you get four the five

visa and hose here and what strategy will be employed here I think that's the ultimate thing here what do you guys value most do you want to take not necessarily a sure thing because it's always tough and baseball with the six month marathon you know will you value a division winner early in the draft since there's only six and and there's a handful that I think people will gravitate to do you want to take a shot on on MVP we know that judge and Otani probably be off the board pretty early looking to stack up some wins where will guys prioritize what they want do not forget again we'll get to the top five here one second the the baseball features are not just guesses they really are investments you could have cashed out with some of our football plays we did we did yeoman's work to eat you in the black so tomorrow one p.m. Easter we're going to put the sharpest minds in one room for the twenty twenty six vison MLB features draft again former major leagueers GM Steve Phillips is going to be in this he's going to be in the one of the top five don't know yet big league arms like Lance Lynn he hasn't been called yet Jensen you're going to be drafting ten plus a lot of our any campers and experts right here gill out Xander Matt you

miss Jeff Erickson I'm going to talk to visual winners penets the world series champion and beyond it starts tomorrow the vison MLB futures draft tomorrow one p.m. Easter and on vison the sports betting network let's get to it number five the selection out of the hat Howard Bender will be going number five going to be great to have Howard on from fantasy alarm and series xm fantasy sports radio Howard Bender coming in at number five so we still have Steve Phillips our GM we still have Lance Lynn former right hander in the Bigs Adam Burke our managing enter in gill Alexander who's going number four the hat says it is the host of a numbers game coming up right after us here in the network gill Alexander coming in at number four can't wait to get gill's thoughts later on with Kelly good one where he likes if he likes his selection here at number four gill I did the best to get you number one that's his best I could do number four number three out of the hat

here it is the former right hander Lance Lynn coming in at number three black love getting different perspectives here Jensen in major league baseball like you as a former player now Lance Lynn what he sees this year and the value that he might find so the next pick is going to determine the next two how about this it's either going to be Steve Phillips at number one or Adam Burke our managing editor at number one here we go with the second pick in the MLB futures draft it's Burkey Adam Burke wow number two in our draft and that means Steve Phillips yes one of my favorites I know you love working with Steve too Steve Phillips former GM the New York Metropolitan's maybe it's because I had the Mets hat on set Jensen I'm not sure but how about that that Steve Phillips gets the number one pick in the draft he's going to love that and and that might be added pressure to Dave

because it is the GM's in the front offices that do the real life drafting so very anxious to see where our great friend Steve Phillips is going to go with his first overall selection very cool man and obviously Tuesday March 3rd that's tomorrow 1 p.m. Eastern first hour will be in that usual spot for prop points and Nick Whale and do a fabulous job hosting for us that'll continue over on the visa in YouTube page because obviously we'll have money moves with Stormi and JVT I'm sure in real time they'll have some reaction there as to what the draft eventually is so looking forward to it kind of where I had hoped I wanted to be in the bottom third just for that that wrap around possibility of not having to wait too long to get my second pick in there so already adjusting the bigboard as we speak absolutely amazing so Jensen you'll be going 10th out of the 10 in the snake draft that means 10 and 11 coming right back at you which means Steve Phillips drafting number one not going to be drafting again until number 20 so very very interesting cannot wait to see how

that unfolds right here in the network tomorrow again 1 p.m. Eastern time got to check it out the MLB futures draft okay when we come back and it gets up with the great will hill the king of Connecticut he's got some baseball plays that he's already added to his card we'll see what he likes that's next right here on visa out of books you're too dinda visaing by the books right here on visa we are back these soon by the books and again there's no reason to pay full price for gas any longer we've got the free upside app it's going to give you real cash back every time you fill up all you got to do is download the app claim and offer it in nearby station and earn money on fuel you already need anyway so use promo code books you can get 25 cents back per gallon on your first tank upside users are earning hundreds of dollars per year just from everyday driving so download

the free upside app now use promo code books the start earning today offers vary by user and location visit upside.com for all of the details he is the king of Connecticut he is also the host of the should event more podcast should get you should give him a follow on x at not the will hill joins us down the progressive guess line the one and only will hill well not sure if you got to listen to the last segment where we did a draft lottery for the features draft here in a visa it's going to be one p.m. tomorrow here in the network. Steve Phillips got the number one pick in the draft do you think it was because I picked the names out of a mess hat do you think there was any chicanery that went on with Steve getting the number one pick. I do not I think you have the utmost in terms of integrity and trust faith all of that I think this was on a level so no tip down he stuff here I think this is all fair and square as far as the strategy here it's interesting where you know you probably got to hit some plus money stuff to to win this thing because with

with the competition at mine here you're probably going to have some people that invariably pick a three four five the one plus winner and get into the you know into the plus category so be interested to tune in here and see what the strategies are. Yeah I already targeting a couple of those getting the back-to-back picks there with number 10 and number 11. We've already got some daily diamond previews in the books today the giants and the royals let me go to the national league with you for a second a quick future that you have and and one that I think is worth a lot of our audience taking a hard look at it's in that worst regular season market the play that you had and how you got there will. Yeah and it's funny hope springs eternal everyone is undefeated this time of year everyone thinks all right we can compete this is our year somebody's going to finish last breaking news somebody's going to have the worst record I like Washington and to me it's just can you find somebody other than Colorado to finish last

here and a Colorado with you know minus 400 to me there's no value there and I actually do think they're going to be a little bit better I was I think of as I say that the the curb your enthusiasm Dave were the Larry Betz the back doctor about being better and then they argue what of what does better mean better doesn't mean all the way better but a little bit better you add Michael Lorenz and you add in the rotation here some some pitching Jose Cantana at least major leagueers Sagano who I think might have a tough summer here in chorus field but it's at least floor razors guys that can make you respectable Charlie Condon I think at some point will come up I've seen him in Hartford here he's a monster hitter so maybe they're just good enough and they played pretty well relatively the second half of the year so I want to look away from Colorado to me I land on Washington you can get them in that eight to one range and they just are so bad in the bullpen you look at that starting rotation Brad Lord and Miles Michaelist Kate Cavali might be the one if they have any sort of injuries to the rotation good luck because they

don't have much depth they're going to be leaning on that bullpen a lot because they're not going to get much depth out of the starters to me Washington is the value there and I'm surprised when you look at the market guys Chicago is shorter the white socks the white socks to me are not in this conversation anymore the white socks are much closer to like a 70 75 win team as opposed to 55 60 win team I don't think the white socks should be shorter than Washington so I think Washington playing in that division where you still have met Philly's braves even the marlins are feisty now I think the the nationals in here for a long summer off of the rebuild after trading McKenzie Gore I just don't think they have enough pitching here to be competitive well you'll love this the first ever spring training for the Washington nationals I covered it down in Viera Florida and Frank Robinson God rest his soul was the manager Hall of Famer first day I asked him I said has anybody impressed you yet he said impress me impress me how I said I don't know in the cages he goes I'm 70 years old I can go good in the cages that's how bad that team was they actually won anyone games this team is going to be much worse than that team plus 750 I like the

value that you have there speak to college basketball tonight Arizona's got a big one against Iowa state Iowa state coming off a perplexing loss to Texas tech over the weekend now they go out to take on the wall cats here what do you make of this if you don't like to side in total is maybe a team angle that you want to attack yeah perplexing is a good word for it I was surprised they laid such an egg against Texas tech without topping that was a game in Iowa state in Texas tech really led from start to finish led by as many as 20 I would look to Iowa state bouncing back but I just can't do it you look at the box score yeah Texas tech shot great from three Texas tech also shot 17 of 24 from two a lot of it was at the rim 30 points in the paint 35 rebounds they dominated the glass they dominated the paint if you can't dominate the glass and the paint against a top and list Texas tech here comes Arizona and you're going to their building so I should say you're going to Arizona that's the wrong team to be weak and soft around the basket against I like Arizona team total over I think 77.5 is the consensus number I just think Arizona they

live at the rim they will dominate a pretty soft Iowa state team they like to run I think they'll get in their pace here in their tempo at home so you know normally I would look to back Iowa state off a bad loss but that's a concerning performance here and I think you know from a bigger picture perspective we always have this conversation we've been having it the last couple weeks how many teams can actually win the title and some people will say six to eight some people will say 10 plus man I think we're down to like five I think it's the big three and I think Arizona's getting overlooked here I know they've had some bad performances under Lloyd in the past but Arizona to me is on the level with these other teams I know they don't shoot enough threes but Arizona Duke Michigan obviously to me can win it I think Florida looks absolutely dominant and that you have to throw them in the conversation then Yukon the respect from Hurley the performance of the United against St. John's shows their upside I think you can probably cabinet those five I'd be very surprised if five six weeks from now we're talking about somebody other than those five teams holding up the trophies I tend to agree with you and appreciate where people are trying to find those Cinderella's boy feels the way this regular season has gone a lot of top heavy teams but

definitely separators as you talked about with three or four of them getting to Indianapolis it is the Super Bowl or it is kind of the where the rubber meets the road here for some teams and that also the other big game tonight number one Duke on the road laying nine and a half against the Wolfpack of NC State. Listen there this is going to be one of those ACC tournaments that NC State is going to have to win a handful of games here and then some but tonight is there value in back in the dog Duke pretty much has it all wrapped up here as far as the ACC tournaments seating and where they'll be as a one seed is their value for the Wolfpack knowing the sense of urgency motivation will definitely be high for that. Yeah I'll take NC State here plus the 10 it's scary back in this fake in this Duke team because if you look ever since and it was the night before the Super Bowl they lost that buzzer be to North Carolina they've just dominated teams they had the win against Michigan other than that the wins are all by 15 20 plus points in all these games that being said you can't be on a 10 in terms of motivation and focus every night maybe this is a little bit

of a flat spot because you look ahead to Saturday it's a rematch with North Carolina so maybe they're a little bit caught looking ahead here NC State is off of a bad loss so I think from a spot perspective this is an NC State play for me plus NC State they're home they're getting 10 and they can shoot the three 39% from three on the year so I think they make enough threes in a spot where they're going to be focused Duke might be caught looking ahead I'll take the the home dog here and what could be a look at spot. You used to go to that gymnasium all the time back in my North Carolina days boy if they don't hate Duke the most Carolina it's really really close with those two. All right it's for some the best time of the year that's for sure we got some of the smaller conference tournaments getting ready to start in the big South is there an underdog play and maybe a long shot play that you like yeah this is what's fun about March you can just adopt these teams for a few days and they become your team I like Charleston Southern at 30 to one shop around I don't have that many options here in Connecticut so maybe there's a better number and you will find a lot of variants in these numbers if you shop around but I like Charleston Southern if you look they've

had really an unlucky season they have six conference losses in overtime and the two big dogs in this conference high point in Winthrop they just beat Winthrop a couple days ago they've won three out of four and they lost the high point twice one of them was in overtime by two points the other time they got buried so that's one thing I look at with these long shots can you compete and can you beat the top teams in the conference they beat one of them and they lost by two in overtime to the other one and they're playing pretty well like I said they've won three out of four that one loss came against long one in overtime and they've just had the ball not bounced their way here when you lost six games by over in overtime another couple by a couple possessions here a lot of close losses I think there's some value there Charleston Southern 30 to one and look if you get to a title game you can sit there and you can hedge the 30 to one so I think they're undervalued I think there's a little bit of a bang for your buck there with 30 to ones. All right I got one question should I cash my futures ticket for the Mets and Yankees to meet the World Series right now 75 to one should I just cash it

already or spend the money mentally. You know what just go up to the window handed in maybe you don't cash it I mean who knows it's you miss a hundred percent of the shots you don't take that's right is the host of it should have had more podcasts well who do you have on this week I know you Jetson last week who's the big star you have this week. Kevon you know was on today we'll see who's on Wednesday so download subscribe to to find out. It's a fantastic pod and again I mean Yankees almost two to one to win the East what am I missing I might have to hop on and become a bronze bomber backer here out there in the marketplace who Jetson didn't like that pick. draft order and Steve Phillips does get in at number one user get number 10 so I think when you look at the extremes in any draft that's kind of where you want to be either one or 10 you got 10 there was no money that exchange hands just came out of this Mets hat how do you feel about your draft positioning for tomorrow yeah I feel fortunate I wanted to be kind of in that eight nine 10 five just to get an idea of where people were going to value their selections and very similar in our NFL futures draft I think you saw a lot of people take division winners quickly just knowing that you are already going to have people that were we're going to select teams that we're not going to win so we have six divisions in baseball how quickly will the division winners come off the board I think there'll be some ones that are are apparent some that are not the ones of the toughest and for people just joining us here are the picks we'll have to make one division winner

an American leaguer nationally pennant winner American leaguer national manager of the year world series winner win total over win total under an American league MVP choice nationally MVP choice sion picks and both the American league and nationally and then either an AL or NL rookie of the year if I'm handicapping it right now Dave the toughest one you could be in the awards market you the American league and nationally rookie of the year it's kind of a crapshoot and I know a lot of people looking at Conor Griffin right now on the nationally side in Pittsburgh a lot of talk about him getting an extension before opening day has no service time you know only is about a hundred plus games a professional baseball the AL and MVP ones are going to be fascinating to see if people just do take the chalk and go there and judge and or show you Tony saw young winners you know can school will make it three in a row what will we have potentially a Paul skiing trying to go back to back in the nationally side to me because the win totals that you have so many

of them it's kind of counterproductive to want to take those early unless you're super convinced on one of those sides that you feel might come off the board so I think those will probably be in the later stages of this draft and then obviously the world series winner who is going to take the Dodgers first and how early will you take it it's a plus money price right now but do you think the Dodgers can three p to hear fascinating from a strategy standpoint so I kind of feel fortunate I'll be able to see where everyone goes first and then maybe adjust accordingly off of that knowing I'll get the back the back picks at number 10 and number 11. That was a similar strategy to what I had in the football draft that we did last summer and again I think that that's a smart way to look at it because the way that you're trying to win this thing right so you got to take some of those longer shots and again going back to the football equivalent I took one on Seattle that cash to plus by 50 put me in the running there if Dak Prescott doesn't get benched in the second half of that giant scheme is probably going to lead the league in passing and that would have gotten me across the line so I'll be curious to see what you do at 10 in that thought process we just had will hill

on in the last seven he likes the the nationals to lead the league in the most losses at plus 750 so some interesting price points out there with different teams after a conversation that we had with with Joel earlier in the hour as well with the royals and this is a team I'm really high on here would you look at some of those and I do have a flyer ticket on them at 20 to one to win the American league for a team like the royals again when you get to that that that draft tomorrow will you be looking at certain teams like that that not only do we think maybe they could not only win the division even as a wild card maybe they can make a run would you look in those categories here in those baseball features where there's really good payoffs if you hit one you might be able to take down the whole contest. Yeah, I think you look overall at at just kind of the high archie and and you know those teams that not only can make the postseason but you also have to factor in the road there like if I'm selecting an American league pennant winner for instance I'm looking to see who I believe could really be in those top two seeds because now we've kind of

looked at the last handful of years of how the expanded postseason is worked and you know sometimes it works when you get the extra rest sometimes it does not. I do think the American league very similar to last year how we handicap that day it's pretty wide open you can make arguments yep probably for upwards of six maybe seven teams at the moment and then if you're looking to the national league side you know do you feel that there's a team that could unseat the Dodgers are their clubs you know that that have that ability when you get to the division series and eventually into the championship series that will have the horses to go with it. Remember last year into September the potteries were three games out of the top spot in the west they had every opportunity to unseat the Dodgers as nationally West winners they could not get that across the line. I think I'm also intrigued on on some of the manager of the year this is ends up being kind of a narrative based awards you almost have to look back towards is there a team that you feel could take that next step and become a playoff team or in the instance of last year Pat Murphy ends up

winning the national league award brewers have the most regular season wins in all of baseball. Stephen vote back-to-back winners in the American league the guardians end up having the largest comeback in the visual history overcoming a 15-and-a-half game deficit I mean it almost impossible to predict those at the beginning of the year you would not have put those two guys to repeat you know as managers of the year it just it's rarely an occurrence so I think that's also the fascinating dynamic here of some of the awards markets to pick from. Again 1 p.m. tomorrow right here in the network it is our 2026 visa and MLB features draft so check it out that's going to be appointment viewing here Jensen you get the 10 pick Steve Phillips yes former met's GM he's got the number one pick Ian said draft that's going to be a lot of fun a couple big time matchups tonight in college basketball Duke laying nine and a half at NC State will Hill in the last segment he's going to back the wolf pack look that's a little place I could look it's almost a no play for me will's going to take a walk in the wild side here for NC State what do you make

of getting in front of that Duke train right now they are right now the number one team in the country and I don't think it's debatable after they're winning against Michigan. If you do like the Duke side you better start getting there quickly tens populating I'm seeing 10 and a halves at Fandall right now so if you think Duke's the side try and snag up there are nine and a halves available still at draft kings at bet rivers bet MGM is a nine and a half still so if Duke's your side try and gobble it up because the numbers are on the move so I tend to agree with will there I might wait to see if it does get to 11 but yeah I'm moving to that maybe the first half ends up being where you go again NC State with stand what you feel is an eventual onslaught from the Duke Blue Devils Iowa State if you're if you're going to force me to pick a side Iowa State would be the side in the Arizona game but I'm not very excited to pick that day if I don't think I have you know the utmost of confidence for what it's worth this did open

at plus eight and a half it was down to seven and a half and now I'm seeing it bounced back up to eight so you're seeing our ready market resistance there at seven and a half eight for the Arizona Wildcat so anxious to see if Arizona continues what was just a resounding win over the J-Hawks over the weekend are they able to put their stamp and kind of finalize what has been a really impressive big 12 regular season. And that's another play for Will Hill per our conversation in the last segment he's got the team total over for Arizona check your check your books out there 77 and a half 78 and a halfs out there so that's Will's play over in the Wildcats because I was State's defense right now not a lot of resistance at the rim we know Pete is back for Arizona they have their full complement of guys so they are locked and loaded ready for bear here come March so it'd be interesting what our conversation looks like this time tomorrow and Iowa State because Jensen I think that to Will's point if we thought there were eight teams that could win the national championship Iowa State was included in that you still look at the cyclones and say

all right to blip in the radar against Texas Tech at home or do you go no I don't like will I might be out on the cyclones as a team that could actually cut down the nets man a lot will depend on their draw I really am intrigued to see where they're at but I still have more confidence in Iowa State over a Purdue even over in Illinois I think Houston is going to creep up there for Florida's the big winner of the weekend man boy they look like a freight train just like they did at this point last year yeah they're all the way up to eight to one now in the marketplace to cut down the nets and go back-to-back as raining defending national champions great stuff Jensen can't wait for the draft tomorrow to see what you do at 10 if you want more visa you've been watching on Fando Sports Network go to leason.com the visa watch app you'll Alexander Kelly Bidwin they're coming up next with a numbers game few things are as uplifting as the greatest moments in sports and nothing brings us together quite
