Top of the hour is Vsyn by the most day for us right here at the minute. Amy Hall. Eve Franklick, the top VR closer, Jensen was back home in Cleveland. Oh, I hope you have brought Brad for joining the program a little bit later on. In this hour, I just got a great podcast called baseball isn't boring. We know that. Jensen, you certainly know that better than most. Talk all about those balls and red socks there as we continue the daily diamond today. Get to the daily docket, a lot of college basketball to discuss. And certainly our best bets that are out there on the horizon for today and into the weekend. But we didn't want to update what's going on right now at the players. This is the fifth major, at least in the eyes of the players on the PGA tour. It's their crown jewel at the TPC sawgrass right now. We do have Ricky Castillo. Yes, it's Castillo. Not Castillo. And Castillo right now, who won on the opposite event last week in good form right now. He's 200 par here, Jensen. So right now he is the leader after a few holes here. He was like, people are getting off to a relatively good start.
A lot of guys at 100 par here. We'll see how the course is playing. We do have weather that's supposed to come in a little bit later on. Scotty Chef, we're still as a betting favorite, even for first round leader today. Scotty, remember, was north of 4 to 1 win the tournament. But you can get him about plus 14 50 to be first round leader in real time here. It does not seem to play well on Thursday so far in the PGA tour. For whatever reason, he'd get off to a better start last week, but yet did not finish in the top 20 a week ago. Rory McRoy got off to a really good start last week in the elevated event. And it came out there on Saturday before his round. And all of a sudden, you see him shaking hands. What's up with Rory? He had to withdraw because of a bad back. He says he's a game time decision. We'll find out and make sure that Rory gets out there. If you have any bets on Rory's, we expect him to go today here at the players. And I'm talking a lot here so far in the program about the new look in the new direction of the PGA tour. And in short, Jensen, what the new guy Brian Rolap is trying to do is make this more of a football-esque model, if you will,
or even soccer model that they have in Europe, where you're going to get more of the elevated events. Not less, more of the elevated events. And he wants to get guarantees from the players that you're going to play in these elevated events. One problem, these are independent contractors that you have in the PGA tour. So how do you get people to commit? You kind of want to say, hey, we've done right by you. Now you got to do right by us for the future of the tour. And to make this more watchable, which then would make it certainly more better for what we do here at these and buy the books. So I mentioned that Rolap has a new roll out that he wants to have as maybe as early as next year here in the PGA tour. Here's Rory in those conversations with the new boss and his thoughts on the direction of the PGA tour. Yeah, I think it's all pretty positive. It's all I think he's got into this job and realized how difficult it is to turn this big ship around. And there's a lot of cooks in the kitchen and a lot of opinions. So he's obviously not getting that.
But yeah, I mean, I think what he said today was, it's obviously a really good direction of where the tour should be going, I think. We talk about leadership in a lot of different regards here, Jensen. We talk about with Rob Manfred in Major League Baseball. And it's not just all about advertising to make sure that people know when your games are on. And again, if we have to be honest about this, gambling is a big part of the stuff now. We see it with the NFL that they're in bed with gambling now, right? We see it in the NBA. And we see it with Major League Baseball. Sometimes there is a deterrence to that with some things that have been going on in some of these sports. But I do think that Brian Rolab realizes that to get more eyeballs generates more dollars, whether it's in what we do here at Visa and certainly in our landscape, and generally more appealing across the board to average fans to get them to watch their product. What do you make of it? Because I think we're already hit on it. You can't really make us do some of this stuff as independent contractors.
And you will be getting some push back here in the near future. I think it's a good idea to change things up and get it more exposure. But we'll see kind of where that all transpires. Speaking of transpiring, actually, Batia right now, a one of five at two under here joining Cam Davis, Jonathan Vegas, Ricky Castillo, Ryan Gerard, they are really starting to move here. We've got a fair amount of people here, Dave, including Patrick Kentley, Tony Feenow, Taylor Pendrith, Max Grazerman, some big names already, Michael Thorbjornson, also under par. I think it's a great trend to kind of follow here is the guys that are out early. And we may mention early this week of where we could see the weather start to turn once you get into that one o'clock window in those later t times today. If you had to put a number, what would be a number you'd feel comfortable with as a morning wave guy? Morning wave guy, five under, you would feel very solid with your round,
just knowing you could leverage maybe what those guys will have to deal with here come the afternoon wave. Yeah, I would think so. We've seen historically, you can get some low numbers here. As Scottie Sheffler made mentioned, by the way, Scottie's getting ready to get out there pretty soon. So his round is about to get underway. So you start looking again, plus 425 for Scottie to win this thing if you have nothing in. If you want to get top five money, it's still plus money, plus a dollar 16 for Scottie. Yes, I think that these guys know you can't, I don't think you can have any even par round and then go win this golf tournament in three day, you know, three days with kind of giving away a day, if you will. So I think guys will feel comfortable if they're under par three, four under par that were realistic shot to be around, you know, in real contention for the weekend. But for first round leader, you know, we get one outlier. So I'd say this is going to be a bold statement here. I think tomorrow when we're talking about a gents and we're talking about somebody that shot eight under par. I do think that might be out there unless the weather really changes and gets diabolical in the afternoon.
So these are early guys going out. I think you might see somebody and eight under might be the only guy to get to a number like that. And other guys are around five and or four or five, six somewhere in that pecking order. But I think if you've got a golfer that you feel confident could get five under par, I think it's worth a bet for first round leader. And then you will hope you avoid somebody that has the outlier outlier rounds like we've seen the last couple of weeks in the PGA tour. So we'll monitor that. But you mentioned it. We got some guys now starting to bunch up five of them at two under par very early in the round so far today. I want to talk a little bit about first strike. If you've not checked out our podcast with me and Rob Marino, yes, I'm biased. It's a fantastic conversation each and every week. And again, you come off the heels of a major numbered event like we had last weekend. We have absolute legends in the octagon like Charles Olvera, Max Hallway. And then you get to a quote unquote lesser card Kevin Viejo's this weekend is going to be taking on Josh Emmett. So it doesn't have the same firepower but there's still good betting opportunities in it. And later on this year,
we see Gina Carano against Ronda Rousey back in the octagon. Well, we have a man of Lemo and Jillian Robertson is the co-meant event this weekend. This wouldn't be happening in the UFC if it wasn't for some of those women that were pioneers in MMA that I'm talking about the legends of Gina Carano and certainly Ronda Rousey. So I had that conversation with Rob about Jillian. She's almost a two-dar betting favorite here in the co-meant event against a man of Lemo and let's get our thoughts on what might happen in the co-meant. What normally when you look at women's MMA a lot, I look to the totals to see what we're anticipating. And again, we are anticipating this despite going to the cards at minus $1.75 to the over two and a half. And she is what I love about Jillian is when she gets the fight down to the ground, Rob, it's not control. It's damage. I mean, she really has that B6. She works, she works, right? So could you see Robertson by decision? If that's with the implied number of the totals telling us, what do you think she's got a real chance to get Lemo shot of there if this fight hits the ground?
Man, it's tough because Amanda Lemo's just tough. 38 years old, we're talking about a couple aging fighters here on the card, right? We got 41-year-old Josh M. At 38-year-old Amanda Lemo, Lemo's the one thing I hate to see in declining aging fighters. 48% XR percentage is against someone like Robertson that's going to matter because like you said, if things hit the ground and it's all in Jillian's game, she's going to control her. She's going to wrap around 62% XR percentage for Robertson. Once again, Lemo does have power kind of talking about the aging fighter with some power. I mean, for a straw way to have six knockdowns in their UFC careers pretty impressive, can she still prove that, right? But I think Robertson is almost, can't almost pull off a much more aggressive style against Lemo than what we saw Suarez put together against Lemo, where it's just, you know, Suarez kind of just took her down and just held her there, right? I think Robertson's going to be able to get her down and control her, beat her up a little bit. The finish is so hard to predict here. The model loves Robertson here. It gives her a 74% wind probability here.
At minus 190 when I originally wrote these notes up, I just took a shot at that because I can't, I just can't get myself to the finish because I can't figure out if Lemo, she's tough, man. She's kind of like that Max Holloway style. It's like she's going to get beat up. But man, in that third round with two minutes to go, she's going to get in your face and keep fighting. And I don't know if that finish happens. Jillian Robertson's been able to get some finishes in there, but I'm not sure if it happens this weekend. Love doing the shows here with Rob Marino. You got to check it out here. First strike wherever you get your podcast. Jensen, it's a fantastic lesson each and every week. I do like Jillian Robertson here. No, we don't like to play those big favorites, but she is about $1.95 betting favorite. She's going to do damage to Lemo when the fight hits the ground. Lemo is very, very tough. So a lot of respect that I have for her in the coming. We're going to move from the caro on the program as well tomorrow to talk more about this fight too in the main card here with the Aegos against Josh Emmett. He won last week in an elevated event. He's 24 years old, Jensen. The young buck Oxay Betia that that putter so far so good again and week number two. Good to see Justin Thomas also one under on his first hole of the day. Guy that's trying to really recapture some of the magic here. Big names out early. Can't wait to see how this one transpires in the early we're going here. Yeah, some guy named Scotty Shepher.
I think he's getting ready to get up there on that tee. So we'll see how Scotty gets his Thursday underway. When we come back, lots of college basketball to dive into. Here are some numbers. And these big boy conference tournaments. We'll do that next right here. I'll be some of the books. Hey everybody, Dave Ross here. Up so much to get to here in the sports world. So much to bet on today, including college basketball, man. This is no better time, I think, maybe this week and next week. Of course, we're going to have sharp week. Starting up next week right here on the network. So as we talk more hoops here, let's get into it with some of the big boy conferences in today's edition of the Daily Docket.
That on your own time when you like and subscribe to the Decent Butterbooks podcast. Iowa State's an interesting team because I don't know that I trust them big picture, if you will, in next week's March madness. But I kind of like them in the big 12 this week off to a great start against Arizona State. But could trouble be a ruin here, Jensen, when you break down the big 12 today against Texas Tech? I would say that Iowa State would be the lean for me, laying five and a half that number up from four and a half. No official play from me there. I do have one on what we would anticipate after talking with Hoops Peterson, a defensive-minded battle. Now, BYU took care of West Virginia yesterday, really with flying colors. They're going to be up against it with one of the favorites, not only to win the big 12 tournament, but to make a deep run into March madness. And that is the Cougars of Houston. Seeing this total day, I mean, it is cascaded way down. So open at 151 and a half,
I actually got it at 147 and a half to play the under. So usually a very, very stock and lock for Kelvin Samson's crew, they're going to try and limit everything you do, a physical nature to this game. I could envision, and it's a rare thing that could happen, hard to kind of keyhole some of these with such a large spread. But the under would be a play for me already in pocket. I would lean Houston laying the nine and a half. It's up already a couple of points from the open at seven and a half. I'm seeing some nines on a distant land here, but stateside, most everybody is at nine and a half for the Cougars against BYU. So that would be my feel for you as we get into the big 12 quarter finals here today. Pretty good if you're watching there and you get, you know, number 17 in the country, number two team, number five team, and then you get Kansas against TCU.
So pretty good quarter final action here in the big 12. By the way, no tickets can officially be punched today in any tournament here, but you're going to get closer in the ACC with the quarter final round here. Duke will take to the floor for the first time against four to state. NC states can take on Virginia Clemson against North Carolina. And Louisville as we broke down with Greg against Miami. What do you see here in the ACC? So I would say again, I know this is going to be crazy. Another under I would lean to in Florida state and Duke. I guess the entry right is the injury situation with the blue devils and the motivation factory. How much do they want to get involved in a real tough fight here? Florida state, a resounding win in their opener yesterday. They are catching 17 and a half right now, Dave. That's down from 19 and a half. So a lot of people have I'm seeing 17 and a half pretty much universally across most of of our sportsbooks here. So no play, but I would say that what it feels like a lot of I feel like a lot of points, especially with the injury issues.
I would have to believe that John Shire ends up being a bit more conservative on what he wants to do with his group and his rotations. I watched the NC state get what I tell you what pit can't hit a three to save their life in the regular season of conference play. They could not miss yesterday in the first half a wildly high scoring game between the Panthers and the Wolfpack. NC state, though, one of the best three-pointing shooting teams in all of college basketball, they end up getting the win there. I would say and it's probably a small lean. Virginia is in a position where they've got the motivation, Dave, doing crease their seating on Selection Sunday. That might be a little bit of a lean laying the six and a half. That is up from the open at five. I believe there are some five and a half still laying around at Fandall, but that's really all I'm seeing. Six and a half would be the lean for me with Cavaliers of Virginia
against the Wolfpack and NC state. Very very quickly here, Jensen. Interrupted daily docket. We do have breaking news from the the player's championship. Calamor Cala has WD withdrawn from the first round of the players. That is going to upset a lot of cards out there. So boy, great stuff to any Higgins. Joe Friso getting us this on the spot. We always want to inform you here live betting scenarios. Colin Moore Cala has withdrawn with the back. We thought it was word macro is back. We had to worry about Calamor Cal. One of the tournament favorites on the short shots there is out of the players. That is stunning. What a great year. Sadly, Calam has been off to a great start. Just monitor that here. Hopefully you're going to get refunds. Check your books. And I know a lot of people out there bet Calamor Cala this week as well. Let's stay on track here with the big East tournament here because Creighton and Seton Hall, George Sound of Villanova will do battle today. But it really is the big boys. It's Yukon and it's St. John's here. St. John's winning the regular season. Yukon's got bigger fish to fry you with things. Xavier and Providence will take their shots at the two big guns in the big East.
What do you make of this conference as a whole? Do you put Villanova in there as a third betting a real shot? Or do you just look at it as Yukon and St. John's? It's probably, yeah, just the top two teams. A couple of trends to keep in mind here from Steve McAnon on the quarter finals as we'll get into that in kind here as the landscape unfolds today. So only three of the last 25 big East quarter final teams that enjoyed a round one by have lost to a team that played, okay? So as we're looking at at the matchups today, obviously, you know, Xavier, Providence, Creighton, Georgetown, they all played yesterday. And so keep that in mind when you're looking at, you know, potentially a parley, we hit our four team, Moneyline, Parley in the early window yesterday. So only three of the last 25 big East quarter final teams that had the round one by have lost, they've also covered at a 64% clip 16 and nine in those situations.
One other thing to keep in mind to Big East quarter final double digit favorites, 13 and three ATS, 81.3% cover percentage since 2006. You got to go back to two decades of data right there for the tournament. They are also on a 13 and five ATS surge as well. So a couple of great betting trends there from Steve McAnon, overall on the quarter final round of the Big East tournament. And what I love, Jensen, about what you do, what we try to do on this show, what we try to do as a network is be transparent. That's what our friends over at Juice Reel do as well. They link all the sportsbook accounts, import your bets, and give you automatic tracking and analytics. And it's completely free over there with our friends at Juice Reel. They're going to rank every better. You can now see exactly what the best bettors in the community have their money on. You can tell their picks, join in on the profits, and if you are the sharp better, you're going to get paid when others follow your picks and wins. So the days of cappers lying about their records, they are over. So download Juice Reel free today.
That's juice like orange juice. And that's real. R-E-E-E-L, Juice Reel. Check it out today. Very transparent, very quickly. The breaking news here. How more Cala has withdrawn from the players championship. And why this is significant? He did play a whole gents and he played one whole and then teed off. So sadly, in some of those markets where you'll see, you must tee off to have action as a tough pill to swallow. We saw it with Rory McRoy last week if you're playing a couple rounds. So one, we hope Calamore Cal is okay. Two, as a bad break for bettors out there. If you had Calamore Cal here. But again, we wanted to give you this update here. In case you're wondering what's going on with Calamore Cal. That's what we wrote. No right now. One of the favorites to win this tournament. Is out at the crown jewel on the PGA tour. Let's get back to right now in college basketball. The SEC with their second round today. Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky. I want to shoot out yesterday. They're going to take on Missouri. Ole Miss against Georgia. Oklahoma against Texas A&M. Gents and any leans that you have here in the SEC.
I think this was a unique day yesterday. And of course, watching Auburn, who has been the talk of so much of the bubble. Do they deserve to get in? It took him a little bit there in the second half to be able to extend and escape from Mississippi State. Almost a must win for them to keep their, I think, hopes alive on the bubble. Kentucky, you want to talk about a bad beat. I laid the six and a half with Kentucky. So you get a bucket. They're right at the end to end up having the cover be missed story of my day yesterday. I am intrigued on this Matt quarter final that's going to get underway with Buffalo and Akron. The first game of the day is UMass and Miami, 11am Eastern tip time. I am going to play the under in Buffalo and Akron, under 161 and a half. I realized that Mac quarter and basically, Mac tournament games that all have been track meets. But I think I kind of like where some of the numbers and the data match up here. One final note on the column, Mara Cowell would draw this being reported by Cam Jordan out there of golf week.
Mara Cowell seems to have tweaked his back. He was getting treatment from a physio. That's why he did not tee off on the second hole. One hole in and in the sportsbooks, they grade that. That is that is tough in golf betting. That's for sure. Baseball betting. Hopefully we won't have tough breaks like that. Rob Bradford is going to join us next the next day. We die. We're going to break down the Boston Red Sox right here. It's visa by the books. You're too dim to visa by the books right here on visa. We continue mixing by the books. This show is sponsored by our friends at upside. You can earn real cash back at the front with three upside after use from good books title of this show. You will get 25 cents back for gallon on your very first fill up. We'll get a good upside.com for all of the details. The big breaking news right now. This hour it's not NFL.
Not college basketball. It is golf and one of the short favorites to win this golf tournament. As a matter of fact, he had moved up to the second betting choice with worry McRoy to win this golf tournament. Was Kalamore Kala with the great form coming in here. Obviously he's already a two-time major champion. After one hole, Jensen, had it withdraw from the players with the bad back. You just showed his video here during the break. He looks pretty distraught over that. Had to try to get some treatment with the physio on the course. Could not even make it to the second hole. One, we hope he's okay. Two, this sucks in golf betting. In our body, Kelly Binlin coming up next with Gilaogs and her next on a numbers game here. I know Kelly's been bit by this now twice or three times in the last two weeks with worry McRoy withdrawing when he's in contention last week in an elevated event. And Jake Natt withdrew before he ever teed off last week. And now Kalamore Kala, look, that's just bad luck. There's nothing we can do about that with injuries in sports. But Jensen, do you think we could,
sportsbooks could empathize and say, I know that the letter of the law is that if he tees off that's action, God played one hole. I mean, I wonder if there's any wiggle room there because, you know, rules are rules for a reason. I think you're Jeff Benson right now when people are like, Oh, he came out and like the second quarter, can I get my money back? Not kids. Welcome to big boy betting, big girl betting. This is what happens. I would just say is a caveat like what's going on with the back issues in I didn't know on the PJ tour. Like I tell you, bigger, faster, stronger. We say this a lot in baseball, Dave, where, you know, the guys in the advent of driveline at heck, I was, you know, with Arizona, when we had Trevor Bauer in his rookie year and he was kind of that, that first disciple, if you will, to, to really bring it full mainstream into a big league organization. And now it touches every single part of not only major league baseball, college baseball, amateur baseball, I know that there are,
there are onboard your body can only take so much so quickly. Like you have to be able to onboard load management as far as being able to increase strength, increase speed quickly. So not saying that these guys go through, especially on the tour, you know, having the stretching and doing all the, the issues and things that they need to get ready and rock and roll. So boy, just the video reaction of Karl Marekowski, I mean, he's got his hands on his head, his hat off. You can tell he is so disappointed with what just happened. Max Grazer in right now, the American is 300 par along with Ricky Castillo. Another American here, they are both 300 par Castillo, by the way, one on the off event last week on the PGA tour. So coming in with some really good form here, those two guys are at 300 par through five and four holes respectively. I got a bunch of guys at 200 par and then a group at one, including Scotty Schaeffler. Scotty Schaeffler has birdied the second hole here.
So he's too off the lead right now. Let's get back to the daily diamond here. Rob Bradford kind enough to join us here. The host of a great named podcast. Baseball isn't boring podcast covers the Red Sox for WEEI. They give him a follow on X at Brad F O. Really appreciate you joining the program here Rob. And first of all, the name of that podcast, baseball is not we love baseball here. Who says it's boring? Is it the kids that can't handle it? I have proof, I have proof guys. If you want to look, there's a tattoo right there. Baseball is important. So there you go. There we go. Yeah, yeah. Of course, Joe Kelly by partner in the podcast and in the venture. He basically said, if you won the World Series, we would get baseball is boring tattoo. So there you go. Proof. I love it. That's fantastic. Rob, great to catch up with you again. I know we talked just a week or so ago on Elmi Network Radio. And let's start on the pitching side. Perfect segue with Joe Kelly. This is a part of the team that Craig Breslow really
in earnest wanted to fortify. And I'm not sure, you know, outside of maybe another club or two that you could have done a much better job getting Ranger Suarez and Sonny Gray in support there of Garrett Crochet. Size up just the acquisitions here in your eyes, not only in the rotation that we'll have Brian Bail, Johan Aviedo as well coming over from Pittsburgh. Is this now as good a rotation that maybe you've covered since the glory days of win the Red Sox for winning World Series? Yeah, I mean, it's a good question. It's hard to say because, you know, you had some really, really good good rotations in the back. It's the last year's the shillings and those sort of guys. And they had proven it. They had done it. Now these a lot of these guys have proven it. They have done it. But still you have Garrett Crochet who's coming off his biggest workload as of in his life. You have Sonny Gray, who obviously is a really, really good pitcher. But it's also 36. You have Ranger Suarez, who is again, a really, really good pitcher,
but is known for coming through in the postseason. But you got to get him to the postseason. And you have Brian Bail, who is the ultimate fork in the road guy. It was we saw the other day for the Dominican Republic. He can be lights out, but he has to be more consistent. And then Aviedo is same sort of deal. So yeah, the potential there is to have the absolute best rotation in all of baseball, but it's like anything. Like it could go the other way as well. All we know is this. Is it once they didn't sign Brightman, their pivot was Ranger Suarez, run prevention, Caleb Durbin. This isn't a team that all of a sudden is going to be hitting your 40 home runs and happy the lawns of the corner. This is going to be built on the aforementioned starting pitching. Rob, let's talk about the office and maybe lack the rub. But one guy that they're really expecting a lot of is Roman Anthony. And when you look at the MVP odds, once you get past the usual suspects, like Judge, obviously Bobby with junior Cal Raleigh, even Vlad Jr. He's there at 17 to one.
So is this kid, they're all kids to me, Rob. Are they, is he ready to take a leap that we can make a realistic expectation for MVP conversation? Well, if the red sucks, this is part of the red sucks equation. It's that he has to take a leap. They put their eggs in that basket. They're saying, how do we don't care for your 21 years old you're heading to the top of the order. You're being the alpha. And they think they can handle it. He's a mature kid. He's a talented kid to answer your question. Yeah, I do think that he probably, I would not be surprised at all if he's in the MVP conversation because while he is an experienced and while we only have half a year to go off of, I will say this. I've been around enough guys to know he has the right perspective. He has the right demeanor. He's not going to be overwhelmed. He's going to make adjustments just like he did last year. And if you want a sample of it all, just go to the WBC and see what he's doing there. So the red sucks are banking on this. And I do think that if you're going to bank
on a 21 year old, it's a pretty good 21 year old to bank on. Not a good, not a question about it. Rob, he has been sensational in a short sample already here in 2026. Let me zoom out on the AL least. You and I talked about it a week or so ago. This does have the chance to be the most difficult and challenging division. Because I think we can agree every team kind of got better in their own way. Handicap the AL least in your eyes from being there and covering the vision day in and day out. Is it again trying to run down the blue jays in the Yankees? Or does this get really, really close with what Baltimore's done, Tampa doing their usual Tampa Bay ray things size up the AL least in your eyes? Yeah, I'll just in the first thing I'll say, I'll start at the bottom is that and maybe this team, the race, they don't deserve to be at the bottom because every time we predict them to be there, they end up in May, near the top. Nick Martinez and Steven Matt, Sy Young conversations, right?
This is how it works. Drop a picture in. You're in the race, Sy Young conversation. Then you have Shane McLean in. My point is is that this is the strongest division in baseball. And when you can talk about the last team in the way that we can talk about the race, that's why it's the strongest division in baseball. But I think the Yankees, obviously we've looked at the odds and the Yankees, they're near the top for a lot of people. The blue jays, sure they went to the game seven, the last minute of the entire season, but still you're sort of played for the tie in terms of your off season. You laugh but shit, you got Okamoto, you have to have Dylan Seas work out. The Orioles are really intriguing. In me, not only in terms of the players, but the culture that they're building with Bassit and Alonzo. And then the Red Sox, I'll say this, being around the Red Sox, I am more optimistic about the Red Sox than I was even a couple weeks ago. And maybe it's spring training,
how this gets in your head and your delusional about things. Like this kid brainwards, gonna steal a 17th base today. And like, oh my goodness, it's Ricky Henderson. What he does it, he's gonna hold the basic of over his head. It's gonna be this momentous thing. No, it's spring training, but spring training is for overreaction. And you try to pick through it. I'll just say this, I've tried to pick through it enough to still, this is the reality of the American legies. And I do think that the Red Sox are closer to the top than I think that I ever anticipated when I came to spring training. Rob, we're gonna have to have you back on here and check in as the season goes to see that optimism carries over. And I know those fan bases there in Boston. They're expecting good things every year for the Boston Red Sox. Give them a follow on X at Brad F.O. and check them out. Baseball isn't boring podcast. And on WEE, I really appreciate the time this morning. Best of luck to the socks and have fun covering that team this year. See if that optimism for the stocks continues. We know how that fan base can be there. And we know how the fan bases on X or Twitter can be as well. And they are not happy with the breaking news that we've had this morning here. The column work out after playing one hole at the players championship had to withdraw from, I don't know how I was to phrase it. What looked like a pretty debilitating back injury. So people are very upset. Obviously, if you have column work out tickets. And since we got this tweet in from our buddy Jim Campbell. And maybe some good news could be out there depending on where you bet. Yeah. So I'm looking at the early exit protection and time frames. This per draft King's sports book.
The designation and Jim Campbell. Thank you, buddy. One of our devout, devout a daily listeners here on, on Visa and by the books. The eligible markets in golf, including majors, PGA tour events, DP World Tour and Olympic golf. So we're under that threshold, which is good. The eligible market is a tournament player market, which your placement markets, your outrights. The not eligible markets are whole props and round props. So if I'm reading it correctly, if you were at a first round leader ticket on column work out, it doesn't look like that one might be refundable. But the early exit time frame is a player with draws before the start of round two. So again, if you placed column or a cow at tournament, wagers as far as the player markets go, just double check and make sure when everything kind of gets settled up, might be catching a little luck here with the draft King's early exit time frame. Kelly Bittling is going to be on next
with Gil Alexander and a numbers game. I'm sure Kelly's going to have a lot of thoughts on this. I thought Colin would be a really solid to play this week. I don't know how you could have seen in any of the way with the recent form coming in. Twitter is a blaze. As you can imagine right now, Jensen just saw one tweet come in saying, I hope Colin enjoyed his two weeks of not being hated by the golf community. Hey golf community and certainly betting community. Let's not get on Colin for this. Okay. This is a this is a legit injury. This is a bad back. It sucks. It really does suck. If you bet column work out this week. And certainly I was looking in his direction to add on to the card as the week went on. But let's not pin this one here on column work out. Injuries happen. And the rules are the rules of the books. And I love the way you phrased it there with Jeffrey Benson. Our buddy over there at circa. You got to have rules in the industry. Sometimes bad breaks just happen. And this is clearly one of those right now. If you did bet column work out. By the way, Scottie. So for soft to a good start here.
We have two guys that have already reached four in a par. Max Grazerman and Ricky Castillo. Back to back weeks here for Castillo. Off event last week that he won. Four under par. Through four holes for these guys. So Jensen, we talked about it. This was kind of the way we handicapped it. Is that you might want to look at these guys getting out early today. Whether it's supposed to come in in the afternoon. But so far so good for the guys getting off on early tea times today. Yeah, I've been pretty remarkable. I would say Justin Thomas Tony Fee now. Dave up to three under one off the lead. So you got some bigger names. Matt Fitzpatrick bouncing back in a big way. So I'm going to go under through two holes. Daniel Boog. After the meltdown to actually Bethea. He is one under as well. Patrick Cantley one under Lou Vigo bear one under Scottie. Sheffler one under Russell Henley one over. It is a very big name recognition start here. Brooks kept it even. Actually, actually, I think bogeyde or a double.
Yeah, the 14th. Yeah, so he's back to even. So I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that these draft Kings early exit protection. House rules are going to be in effect for all the more Akala wagers. I had him on a to make the cut parlay to a four leger. That I'm going to hope is just knocked down to three here. But it'll be interesting to see. Honestly, how those are graded. One of the thing to keep in mind. And I always ask you about it. Your process when you get through round one. What exactly will you be looking for? I know whether may play a part here in the afternoon wave. Criteria, you'll be looking for to maybe jump in live. Whether it be during the round today or after round one completed. Going to look when we get done and get back home and really start to look at how the course is playing. Because it's tough when we're doing the show. By the way, love having early golf here on the east coast while we're live on the air. It's certainly you can try to get ahead of the numbers. But it's still hard to see with the naked eye.
And I say this a lot in golf betting specifically. I think you do need to be watching these. See what the tough holes are. See what the golfers have out there. Still ahead of them. And if these guys can't finish today. Jensen in round one with the weather. That's the the worry they can't get in all of round one. How much will they have going into round two tomorrow? So looking at those second round leaders tomorrow. Probably we'll add to my card and we'll get to those here tomorrow. But weather and the draw where you are in that draw is going to be big on day two. Once you kind of handicap. What these guys are going to be facing coming in. What are we going to be facing today in college basketball? If you're a visa pro subscriber. You've got some plays up there already today in conference basketball tournaments. No tickets can officially be punched. No championship games. But what do you like in the hardwood today? Okay. So yesterday. Not very good. We were fully transparent here. I tried to go through a little exercise. A little Greg Peterson exercise of trying to handicap almost every single game. And if I had to play a side in total. So I went through that yesterday with 24 and 28 day 52 picks 24 and 28.
So we were underwater there. But it was a valuable lesson and also looking at motivation. And also where these games are being officiated in real time. Especially in the second half. There are a lot of fouls. There are a lot of free throws. So be mindful when you're looking at some of these unders. And when I did that. I got to a couple in the big tent first game of the day in the big tent slate. Dave Iowa in Ohio state. Iowa handling their business yesterday after a very sluggish first half. They got going in the second. I did play the under 140 and a half for the hot guys and the buck guys. And I would look at a couple of these conference trends here. From Steve Mackinan and we'll go to the big 10 in and of itself. When you go through the rest of of where we are today. Heavy favorites of six and a half points or more. 23 and one straight up entering the tournament, but only 14 and 10 ATS. That was kind of where we were with not only Iowa yesterday.
But if you look at teams off a buy in the big 10 tournament. They're 25 and 14 straight up. But Dave underwater covering and both yesterday's games. We're underwater as well for teams coming off a buy. So that number now ATS 13 30 and two. That is teams off a buy versus teams that already played those numbers go all the way back to 2018 and include yesterday. So if you're looking for covers. It may be those teams that have played yesterday going into games today. That have had those teams on buys or double buys. WBC. We've got a new lease and life here in America. I'm going to take on Canada today. Sorry in advance. Canada for all the gifs you're going to see in the jokes on Twitter. But that's just Twitter. Should we be in eight dollar betting favor against Canada? Not knowing who's going to be going to be on the bump here tomorrow. I think so. Yeah. It makes sense for the line or a market standpoint.
Now the motivation will be through the roof. Congratulations. Anyone who tailed my Canada to qualify for the knockout round and even money. Right. One the pool Dave. They will not only do they qualify. They won their pool in pool a so congratulations to team Canada first time in the knockout round. They are going to have the issue of the pitching site. How long do they let their guys face this American lineup? Is it one time through and then you go to relief appearance. I'm anxious to see strategy there. And I'm not too worried. You know what I'm worried about. I'm not too worried about any of who D row is going to throw out there. We'll get an official prognostication. Probably this afternoon. If not tomorrow morning. So anxious to see what that decision ultimately will be. I kind of get the feeling that we as America right now in the WBC. We're kind of like Billy Madison and we just caught the ball and looked at all the other kids in the yard when you're all on a big, big trouble.
Yes, love that. knocked us out when you had the chance there, Italy. You didn't do it. So we appreciate the Italians giving us a new lease in life here in the WBC. America, by the way, is the betting favorite again to win the WBC at plus $0.40. Japan has drifted in the marketplace. It would have been more than expected plus $4.50 right now behind the DR as the third betting choice. Jets and great stuff. As always, my friend, look forward to the show. Tomorrow, of course, we'll update the BJ. What's going on at sawgrass here at the players' championship. And I'm sure Gil Alexander and Kelly Midwin will be doing as well. That's the big talk right on the breaking news in the world of sports. If you want more Vsyn, you've been watching on Fandoah Sports Network.
