1:22We got lined up for you today. We're going to have Greg Hoops Peterson as we always do to talk all things going on in college basketball and it's wild right now as we get ready for the big dance next week. And Rob Bradford is going to join us too. I love his podcast, Jensen. It's just called baseball isn't boring. That's the podcast it's not boring. We love it. We can't wait to talk about it here with the Red Sox as we continue the Daily Diamond. But Jensen's a little bit colder out here on the Tennessee and Kentucky border today. How are things in Cleveland? And are you ready for one of the crown jewels in the PGA tour today? I don't know what was colder. Me trying to pick a basketball winner yesterday or waking up to 29 degrees here after it was just 70 about, yeah, just a couple of days. Hey, welcome to it. The Iads of March as we get going here in earnest. So, hey, this is the one part about Vison by the books and a Lewis Ross administration. We will not quit until the fight is over. Unlike NBA teams, the tank that might be a little preview of stock up, stock down the day.

2:24But yes, buddy. Oh my god, another huge news day yesterday as well. It just keeps rolling and like, there's no quiet times in the sports calendar. I think we always say, oh, these will be the, there's no such things as dog days anymore. Certainly not with the NFL in the way that they keep us busy with our highlights and headlines. That's where we're going to kick it off in the in-app list today. So, let's get right to it. Help your bottom line with today's highlights and headlines. For guidance, gone on the scrap heap of the NFL and, you know, didn't work out in New York and whatever you think of Danny Dimes, Danny Millions is the right monitor today because two years 88 million right there in Indianapolis. There are some ways that the Colts could get out of this after a year if they wanted to, but it'd be pretty expensive to do that, Jensen. We often, obviously, no, he's coming off a devastating injury last year. It was a great start to kind of the rebirth in Indianapolis here.

3:25There's no, it's not set in stone. He's going to be ready to go week one here. But we do know that the Colts feel highly enough of him that whenever 17 can get back in there, this is their guy at least for the next year plus in Indianapolis. Got it, man. What is his agent and agency deserve to take a bow? I mean, really remarkable how we looked at the topography of where at least the availability of quarterback free agents would be and will get to Kyler Murray coming up here in just a moment. This is the beauty of professional sports and being on the inside of these locker rooms and having the relationships. You can't discount what the Colts look like in the first half of the season, okay? And with a healthy Danny Dimes, it's a way different look and a way different feel. We'll never know what that Colts season might have been like had. Daniel Jones been completely healthy. So I think this is a shorter gamble as far as timeline on a guy that they believe what they

4:29saw early. They know better than anyone, Dave, too. Remember this about the rehab and where he is at this point. So I think there's a little bit of method to the madness here, rather dance with the devil that you know. And I think that's kind of where you are. If you're Chris Ballard in company, they're in Indianapolis. Yeah, you re-sign your top white out choice that you had right there in house. You bring back your quarterback, they had you had in house. So it looks like they like the guys that they have right there in Indianapolis. They're going to repay those guys instead of going outside of the family if you will. Their win total is sitting at eight and a half. It is juiced to the under this year. So we'll see if Danny Dimes is going to be able to go week one. If not, it could be Riley Leonard who will pretty darn good for it in his one game last year, starting at the end of the year after they went on from the Philip Rivers experiment. The experiment of Kyler Murray in the desert is over. We knew that was coming in Arizona said your services are no longer required here. And I know that Kyler Murray is a lot of consternation about Kyler when he's out there. And you're talking about where he might end up.

5:30We've talked about it a lot here that we thought. Minnesota might be one of those teams that are truly interested in Kyler Murray. Looks like now, quote unquote, the overwhelming favorite to land with KOC in Minnesota. And Jensen, I know that sometimes don't shoot the messenger. I don't think you and I are saying this is the choice we would make, but we kind of been saying all along. There's going to be a market for Kyler Murray. And if he lands in Minnesota, he's landing on his feet if that happens. I would agree. And I think this is also predicated off of when you have a head coach, like KOC, who feels that the skill set matches up with how he wants to operate. And listen, J. Jim McCarthy was a dual threat quarterback. Just no experience whatsoever. The injury trying to come back from it during the year. A lot of hurdles to overcome. And I think the game was so fast for him that KOC also recognized Dave. Minnesota is still in a very competitive window from where their roster construction is overall. Look at the offensive weapons.

6:30Look at what their defense did. We talked motivation last year when you and I were going through our millions picks in the last quarter of the year. And you're like, I would absolutely bet on Minnesota is playing through the finish line. This is a group that believes what they have. And now you just need the trigger man. And I think it's going to be very, very captivating when we watch what Tua does early in Atlanta. If Kyler Murray ends up being a Minnesota Viking, I think KOC is going to ask him, I don't need you to do everything. I need you to get it to my guys and let them do the heavy lifting here. When you need to move the chains, use your feet. Keep the line moving. Keep everything moving forward. Boy, if this is the destination, Dave, I think we're in for real treat. Eight and a half is wind total Minnesota, by the way. And it is just also to the under. So right now plus money in both Indianapolis and Minnesota, we don't know when the end of Jones is going to be ready, but we know he's going to the quarterback. If it's Kyler Murray week one in Minnesota, they just just see if that that number moves at all. But it does look like that market does exist out there for Kyler Murray.

7:33How about Team USA? They are back and could have been done yesterday. But thank you Italy. They get it done against Mexico. And now that means Team USA continues in the WBC. So kind of two headed, wronged approach here. Yesterday when you were watching with Bated Breath early, but you know, Italy put up five runs early here. Jensen. So you kind of knew then like, all right, you can breathe the sigh relief. If you're back back in the USA, what do we make of this now with this kind of new lease on their WBC life? Yeah, it was very anti-climactic because team Italy just put it away very easily. A Vinnie Passquentin, I don't know about you. If you've ever ripped three espresso shots during a major league baseball game, but that dude is probably still up in his hotel room somewhere in Houston, Texas. A huge benefit, as you mentioned, Team USA qualifies now. And Dave, we had just a couple of weeks ago, a pretty titanic matchup between Canada and the United States in the Olympics. I don't know if it will have the gravitas because of what it means because it's not the Olympics.

8:37But I told you, Team Canada, even money to qualify for the quarter finals. Fifty to one to win the WBC. If you tailed, you've got house money right now. Obviously, we will be rooting for the red, white, and blue. Can't wait to preview that matchup coming up. I mean, if you're Canada, right? Or then just a dish best served cold. The thing is, hey, could we get, could you imagine they beat us in baseball? We beat them in hockey? Oh, my God. What's going on in the world with 2026? No, that'd be insane. It cannot happen. Let's talk about some teams that did punch their tickets last night in the NCAA tournament. McNeese, we know they got in from the Southland. Lehigh from the Patriot League. They are going Idaho from the big sky. They win the respective conference tournament. So again, some of the smaller guys that we're talking about, but these teams and these kids are excited to get onto bigger fish to fry. And again, try to be that Cinderella come this time next week. Hey, little did we know that two of those three icons, well done graphics department. Those were two of the three winners of the few winners I had yesterday.

9:38So, McNeese, this a blowout too. Stephen F. Austin is still one of the better teams overall. Resume wise, they unfortunately will not be able to get in. Idaho, if you stayed up late on the East Coast, a little 1130 tip off for you. And they get it done in the wee hours of the morning today. Very intrigued to see how many of these one seeds that that's been the real theme, not only in these mid majors, but also we'll see what the high majors and how it transpires here. Lot of top seeds in these conference tournaments that will not qualify from many of the one bid leagues. Fascinating to see how that is going to play out here. We get to the big boys here. A lot of these second rounds into the conference semis. As the weekend goes here for the bigger conferences this weekend. And again, cannot wait. Can't believe we're going to be talking about selected Sunday coming up this weekend. Tea times. We're getting ready here about 20. 10:41the so-called fifth major as the players like to call it at the players. I've got some out of plays that we'll get to here in the next segment. Jensen before we tee it up. So maybe it's advantageous to get out there early. We'll find out how that plays out. I'm looking for the guys after Scotty Sheffler and Rory McElroy. Obviously, we've focused a lot on Kyle Morakawa. Very anxious to see what CW Kim can do here for me. Of course, you in the big suite in Ludwig O'Bare. What he's been able to put together. I would harken back to the Russell Henley plug from Keith yesterday because I think that is a guy to watch for. We talk about precision. We talk about tea to green and accuracy. But certainly this time of the year right now with conference tournaments. A lot of these getting concluded. A lot of these still in the middle. And we get to Sunday Jensen. It's going to be wild here. We know that the NFL has been wild in the legal tampering. Now the league year is officially open. It opened up yesterday. We still have a lot more moves to be made. We talked about Kyle Murray possibly. He's visiting with the Vikings officially today. The biggest shoe to drop so far in this period this week is obviously been the Max Crosby deal that was not a deal. The Ravens obviously this was two first round picks to go out and get Max Crosby. Then he goes to Baltimore. Does the team physical? And that's where the problems, according to the Ravens,

15:47that's where they say that they arise. Now remember, they do talk to the team physicians well before these deals are consummated. And the guy that was doing that deal for the Ravens is Eric DeCosta, the GM in Baltimore. And he for the first time publicly, Jensen, spoke yesterday about the failed deal of Max and the Ravens. What's here to what the Eric DeCosta had to say about all of that? I understand it. You know, I understand it. We live in that age of skepticism. And people question, especially people that don't really know me or know the Ravens culture and the Ravens organization. So I understand it. As I said at the beginning, we've got a responsibility. I've got a responsibility to the Ravens, to this community, to our fans and to Steve Bischotti, to do what we think is best for the club. And that's what we always try to do. Every decision we make is based on this idea. Is this the best thing for the Ravens? Very, very challenging. Again, I understand how people might, maybe from the far would feel that way.

16:47But nobody's more upset about this than me. Got it by it, actually. And so a regret, a big regret for me. But we will move on as a football team. And I think there's many, many opportunities for us to grow as a team, to become a better team, to build a roster, and to be the team that we want to be. Our friends there at WBAL in Baltimore getting us that sound there. And I listen to that. And I go back to the Steve Bischotti interview that he had the day after they fired Harball. If you remember that, he's got the water bottle and he's very candid. Remember, kind of lit up Harball a little bit there too. And look, I know that air organization for being in the DC area, back when Bischotti took it over. They have a reputation of being kind of the very, it's a family feel, kind of a smaller, close environment. But I almost get the sense here when I hear DeCosta, and then I hear Steve Bischotti these days make no mistake. These guys are cutthroat, man.

17:48They want to go out and win. And they'll do it, I don't want to say it all costs, but they're going to do it if it's to the detriment of DeCosta. It feels like his reputation is taking a hit. And I think he's trying to defend that a little bit as he said, if you don't know me personally. So, Jensen, there are some things to try to clean up after what went south of this Max Crosby deal, because as we know, inside the NFL, that a lot of guys, it's not a pass fail. It's not like you get a BC or D on your knee. You know, it's one of those, hey, if we feel like we're on track to have you at the regular season, that's what this was intended to be. And that's what the Raiders feel like. I think that they feel like they got the short end of that stick. What do you make of Eric DeCosta coming out now and trying to say, hey, you don't know me, I guess it's easy to attack me. I think you had to do it. There had to be some remorse, some ability to fall on a little bit of a sword. Maybe it doesn't go through your heart, but it certainly damages a vital organ, because this is going to have fallout moving forward, Dave,

18:53with whether some, and you know this as well, as anyone from being a round NFL club houses from being around those personnel. Some of these people take it so personally because it is such a cutthroat business, like you just don't have time to recover and owners this day and age, it's not just in the NFL. This is an instant gratification business. And if you don't have it right, and we don't get it right, let's face it, there's going to be changes. And they'll, you are replaceable, no matter how long your track records been, Ozzy Newsom was the great architect there for years, to build the Ravens into a consistent contender. And then it was time they wanted a new voice, as it pertains to our audience and how we move forward. The ripple effect, Dave, now, is that Baltimore sits with the second most cap space available after that Crosby re-nig, if you will, on the trade. So they still have with the restructuring of Lamar Jackson's contract just a day or so ago.

19:53They have about 60 million in cap space left, only the commanders have more at 62 minutes. So they still have a wide berth to be able to go add to this club. The Raiders at the same time, we mentioned it yesterday, and for people that didn't join us, here's the other part. The Raiders had upwards of 120 million of cap space, even with Crosby coming back. They still have a little over 45 million after the entire shopping spree they went on to. So, and this is just me and I know you and I will differ on it. I would be hesitant to play any futures or wind totals just knowing that we've already had something like this happen. I still want to see the draft. I know you're a bit more bullish on things that transpire. This way, what we saw the last 48 hours, does this change your outlook on any Raiders odds, but maybe more importantly, now that we know Trey Hendrickson has signed with the Ravens. Does that give you an alternate feel that it's Henderson instead of Crosby

20:54and with those medicals, does that change how you view the Ravens at this point? Absolutely, and I do like to fire early on these, and I do it in Major League Baseball as well, trying to be anticipatory of what these teams may do. If I feel like you're getting the better of the number, I specifically have not touched these two teams, since not because of this deal, but the Ravens have gone up in the marketplace. They're up to $1.45 betting favorite from $1.45 here. So, they've moved up here after getting this money back, getting Trey Hendrickson, and the Raiders too, by the way, getting Max Crosby back their number, has shifted up to the positive direction. Win total is staying the same, but the juice has changed here. I'm both Baltimore and the Raiders here going forward. Look, an Eric DeCosta, if it really is on the up and up, and it was just about the medicals, okay, it just, it feels like as GMs know, put it this way, you're not calling the Raiders anymore. You've burned a bridge there as far as making a deal. Free agents, I don't think it's going to affect free agency, because money talks. And if the Ravens have more money, then players will still go there and play for Eric DeCosta.

21:55I don't think that's a problem. I do think with trading with other GMs in the league, that's where the problem arises. And yes, owners with GMs have long memories and will be like, screw those guys. We're not helping them if they need help with the trade or somewhere down the road. So, that is something that will be at play there. But with the money, yet always comes down to how much can you pay me? By the way, Max Crosby did tweet this out last night. He said, everything happens for a reason. Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. Interesting. I'm a Raider. I'm back, run that blank. So, Max Crosby sounds like he's pretty happy to be back with the Raiders. And look, he didn't burn any bridges in the way out. So, he didn't know what was going to happen here, but he is back. And he did not want to weave theoretically the first time around. So, I wonder if that reunion stays there in the desert if he still becomes a Raider here for the next couple of years. Or so, we did have the TPC saw grasses getting ready to go here in about 20 minutes. So, I wanted to give these out here.

22:57And I mentioned this last night on Twitter. If you follow me there at D-Raw Sports, I do have some head-to-heads that I did target this morning, Jensen. And one of those is going to be, Sawhith the Gala. And you're going to go, why are you getting on Sawhith the Gala today? Well, I'm really fading, JJ Spawn. This is a guy who finished second here last year in the playoff with Rory McRoy. This is a guy who won the United States Open a year ago. JJ Spawn. This guy who's the 11th ranked golfer in the world. Jensen, he's not playing good golf. Flat out, heard his caddy talking. His caddy is, they're not really confident. They're hoping to make weekend cuts these days. Sawhith is playing really good golf right now. And I got him an even money against JJ Spawn. So, if JJ Spawn goes back, turns back the clock. As you know, and I heard Scotty Schiff, Schuffler say this yesterday too, you don't go to sawgrass and find your game. He doesn't have his game there yet. So, I would look to target JJ Spawn here in some of those head-to-heads. We don't have any McCarthy. We mentioned it with Key Stewart yesterday. Six for six making the cut here. Jensen laid the dollar 25 price point here on Denny to make it seven for seven.

23:58And I just pizza money bet here. Three hundred and one, Denny McCarthy to win. I don't think Jensen, he's really going to win this tournament. But I do think he makes a cut if he's around. You never know. Still one of the best golfers and putters in the world in Denny McCarthy was not one of the PGA tour. And Michael Thor. I know it's his first time playing here, technically at the players. Jensen. He's a, he's a member of, of sawgrass. This guy's probably played the course more than anybody else. And it's his quote, quote, first time as a rookie. So giving Michael Thorough Bjornson here plus 280 to make the top 20 with ties, by the way. And you have your same place and he adds for you overnight. Yeah. Same place. And I actually got a boost. If you're a draft King's customer, they're offering you a little boost as well. So that Scotty Sheffler, calm or a cow, C. Wu Kim, Ludwig O'Bare, to make the cut was even money. Got it boosted up to plus $1.17. So I'm going to hold on for dear life that you think Scotty can at least make the cut, even though he's up to laying $20 from 15 yesterday.

He's, by the way, if we're worried or anybody's worried about Scotty, Scotty's not worried about Scotty. So I think he feels like he's going to be just fine. Because I think of GP, you know, lockdown defenders. And Greg, I just wonder, your basketball playing career. Were you that type of guy? Did you lock down opposing point cards? Well, you see with my basketball career, I retired my freshman year of high school due to a lack of talent. Much like many folks out there in the great state of Wisconsin that is fired to be basketball players. I aspired to be that as well. But much like many people out there in the great state of Wisconsin, I was a mediocre player at best. Trying to draw some charges was actually an okay free throw shooter but could never get to the free throw line. Because they would always call the falls on me. I was good for five falls in 10 minutes.

27:00That's about all I was good for. But if you need five falls in 10 minutes and it feels like there are some teams out there that will pay good NAM money for that. I am your man. Yeah, that are the NBA where they'll pay the six or seventh man $125 million for those backup minutes. I think you're not a yeah, we all can do that. I channeled my inner Greg Peterson yesterday. It was more of a study. I tried to do what you do. You handicap every game. Not the most profitable day for me in that regard, but it was a valuable lesson, especially in conference tournament play. I want to focus on the big 12 because I know you got a couple of plays in this tournament. How do you assess where defensively we know we have teams in these high majors that are in the bracket. You know, they're playing for seating. So there is some motivation there. And then when you go to the smaller conferences, the one big conferences because that was what I took away from yesterday. Played a lot of unders didn't get there because a lot of fouls in the second half,

28:04a couple of overtime games. Does that factor in when you're looking at specific matchups and conference tournament play or maybe overall as well? You do have to take a look at some of these gains of what you think that it's going to be six to eight points with a minute remaining because that's a sweet spot for falls. That's when you feel like, oh, we still have hope of coming back guys. We're only down two possessions with 35 seconds. Keep following. Keep following and what looks to be a dead under goes over. Now you can't foresee overtime. And trust me, I got bit by a few unders. I took that I took that went to overtime as well. I've had like three of them over the last two days. So I have, I've been right there with you. And those are the ones where you just sort of sit there toss up your hands and say, hey, if I continue to handicap the way that I do, this is going to get there because you just can't foresee overtime. That's one of those things where it is what it is. But I do think that it is very important to look for that sweet spot. And if you think the game is going to be relatively close to the spread, and the spread is five to six points,

29:05you do have to be handicapping late fouls. And this time of year, especially if team is down to even like 10 to 12 points with a minute remaining, they don't want their season to end. They are going to continue to foul to the death because if they don't, their season's over. Well, it was over for Arizona State at halftime. I'm not sure Bobby Hurley came out for the second half. We know he's not going to be coming back there for the Sun Devils. After what I was state did to them yesterday. And now I was state moves on against Texas Tech. And these are two teams. You know, Texas Tech obviously without topping. And they've actually, I think rebounded pretty nicely without their star player here. But Iowa State is the team for me that I can't quite figure out. I thought maybe they'd make a nice little run here. So far, so good in game number one. Is there trouble potentially today in game number two? They will have bigger issues here with Texas Tech than they had with Arizona State. I will go on a limb and say that. But that said, I didn't take the points here with Texas Tech. Mainly because of Texas Tech without JT Top. And they're actually scoring more points per possession without them than with them.

30:08Now do I think that that's an absolutely. This is a Texas Tech team that has good three point shooting though. And ever since JT Toppins, but they've been shooting over 40% for three. Dodd Fadat will shoot about 46% from the outside. You've got a guy in Christian Anderson who has been able to give you about seven half assists per game and Luke Boggum boy who's been the main. Shall we say replacement for JT Toppins? He does give you a little bit over one and a half blocks per game. He's a little bit more of a defensive stopper. And without JT Toppins, the Texas Tech team has been playing a little bit slower in terms of total possessions per game as well. But for Iowa State, I've gathered this really ever since C.J. Altsenberg has taken over. And he's done an incredible job. But they typically already fence that they take a little bit more of a fall off away from home rather than at home. And notice that with their three point shooting defense. And that's where Texas Tech has the advantage. And both of these scenes are top 12 teams in terms of their three point shooting per session. Both teams shoot 39 plus percent from three. But with Texas Tech, the one straight to this defense, they allow teams to shoot less than 32% from three.

31:10With Iowa State still not necessarily being that rough and tumble team down low, we'll take the points here with Texas Tech. Greg, I love it. And I would anticipate we'll see some more unders here. I'll circle back with you in the big 12 in a moment. But we do get one of the last conference tournaments underway. In my neck of the woods here in Northeast Ohio, the mat gets underway and the pre-eminent undefeated club in the regular season, the Red Hawks of Miami, Ohio. They get the honor. I don't know if it's dubious or not to lead this thing off. Is it a tricky spot for you against the minute men of UMass? Traditionally, we see some higher scoring mat games in this tournament, especially as you alluded to. When the spread is a bit closer here, and I know eight doesn't feel close, but obviously in a one-bed league, these teams are going to fight with their seasons on the line every time they take the floor. How do you assess this matchup? And obviously a very early tip time. First one of the day here, 11 a.m. Eastern local. And I'll give you about a 15-second diet try here. The Mac better not be a one-bed league if Miami of Ohio does not win this tournament,

32:14because every single bubble team is losing right now. Like for the level peak, it's someone on the bubble win a game. Like, I mean, that's not asking for that much. And I'm sure that everyone out there listening to this is thinking exactly what I am. Like if we're going to leave Miami of Ohio, I would have currently had zero losses. And what the heck are we doing? It gets nobody's winning any of these games on the bubble. But that said, with UMass, I do like the points here. We saw them play Miami of Ohio very tightly the first time around. And I think that this is one of their most difficult matchups here in the Mac, because UMass has a really good job in terms of guarding the three-point line away from home. Top 40 team with that regard. As we know, this is Miami of Ohio team that can go bombs away from three. They shoot over 37% from three away from home. Now, I will say this about Miami of Ohio. If you do take away the three-ball, they're so good download. They're still a top 15 team with their two-point cheating percentage. That's where UMass is fragile. The one kryptonite that I have found for Miami of Ohio all season long, they don't give themselves second chances. They only rebound about 23% of their misses as an offensive rebound.

33:14That's checking in about three or 30th in the country. And UMass is a really good rebounding team with likes of Daniel Hankett, Sanford and company. They've been able to get more three-point cheating this year as well. They have a little bit of problem with turnovers, but I do think they'll with Miami of Ohio. They do have a little bit for lack of better term, the weight of the world on their shoulders, because they are that undefeated team. It might be feeling a little bit of pressure here. And it's an early game. This is a 11 o'clock AM Eastern. I always think that you get a little bit of light when I like to call sleepy legs here. So I do like that once it's four under and the eight points to your UMass. What about the Ville? They are laying a point and a half here today. It's Miami of four to that total. Is sitting about 153 in a half here. What do you make a Louisville? Because it feels like they can score. Sometimes I worry if they can defend. Oh, absolutely. And I actually have a little bit of the opposite concern here for Louisville. A lot of people don't know this, but they're a top 30 team with regards to rebound percentage. They're a top 40 team in terms of points allowed on a permissession basis. With Louisville though, they live by the three

34:14and they die by the three. And they are dealing with the Michele Brown injury. He did not play for the team yesterday. I am not thinking that he's going to play in this game. If he does that, then I had a bonus for Louisville. But here's what really helps him out. Miami has a one-weekness guarding the three-point line. They are 280th in the country, in terms of points of three-point shooting percentage. Louisville, they take over 52 percent. Their fuel will attempt from free. Top by Mark and all of college basketball. And we just saw this match up last week. Louisville went on the road, got the job done. One that came against Miami. And with Louisville having some underrated rebounding, having a guy like Ryan Conwell, who is being able to do a job in terms of stepping up when Michele Brown has been out of the fold, I think that Louisville finds a way here. That total of 153 and F, I think it's a little bit too low because Louisville is a top 85 team in terms of total possession and frame. So, like the over and Louisville lay in a point-aft. All right, Craig, get last 30 seconds. Best bet for Greg Peterson on the slate today. I'll give you the floor. Go anywhere. What are you most convicted in after crunching all the numbers?

35:16We've got a lot that we like. Trust me, if you read the visa right, if we just added like five more. So there's a lot there on the board. But that said, I do think that we're going to be seeing ourselves at under out there in the whack. Our good friend Ben Wilson is going to be on the call for this game. By the way, so you have to give the shameless plug. But, Adley Christian Utah Tech, why is I check that total is 142.5? Utah Tech, a top 20 team with regards to opponent's 3-point cheating percentage. Adley Christian's second in the country, turns the turn-off generated on a possession basis. Outside the top 340, in terms of points scored on a possession basis, as well. They think you get a nice slog out there in the Orlean. So I like the under Utah Tech versus Adley Christian. I took three and a half with Adley Christian as well. Whenever you get Ben Wilson on the call, it's a better call right there. And a good game will listen to a lot. That's for sure. GP, I know you can shut down those point guards. Just keep those feet moving like you do every day in the run. And you'll be taking those charges in no time flat. There he is. That's going to begin in the nation's capital with today's edition of the daily diamond. Justin you know I'm a diehard metropolitan fan. That will never change. But I did cover this team from is it's existence in Washington DC. The very first ever with Frank Robinson and Ryan Zimmerman. And those guys and there's a special place in your heart when you cover teams from their inception. They've gone on to win a world series. So it's it's not that the coverage has been bare since they've been around now for about 20 years, right?

39:23But this iteration of the Washington nationals. Is there anything that my DC brethren can get excited about this year? Excitement is going to have to be qualified. Are there a couple of guys you want to go to the ballpark and watch on a day and a day out basis? Sure. Are you going to go to nationals park and see a lot of wins for the home team? Probably not. The old ad is just why they play the games. But this is a team that is going to leave a lot to be desired at least on paper. Now let's start at the beginning here. Maybe one of the most eyebrowsing I eyebrow raising hires of the offseason was new manager Blake Puterra. Who Dave, if you remember what you were doing when you were 33 years old, I certainly do. I was starting to cut my teeth on the media side here as a pre and post game host. Well, Blake Puterra is your new manager for the Washington nationals. Youngest since 1972. And again, has had some experience in the minor leagues for four seasons.

40:25It's a full revamp though. You remember Mike Rizzo, who had been the architect there as the general manager in present of baseball off for many years. Well, now Interpol to Boni and freshly installed GM on a Columbia who also will focus on unimproving the player development. Now, Colomby comes from the Phillies front office. And so he is well versed in what it takes to not only build a championship pedigree team, but to sustain it. And I think that's probably the idea behind national's ownership is, you know, we have pieces that we like. And those begin on the position player side. Dave, you have the all star and face of the franchise right now. And James Wood was phenomenal in the home run derby this past year at the mid-summer classic. Dylan Cruz, one of their top draft picks. You remember the second pick overall in 2023. Should be firmly in the middle of the lineup there. And you're starting right fielder. And then their young phenom and CJ Abrams, who has had some off the field things to deal with. He's had some lack of day school nature defensively at times.

41:28But that's basically your big three. And then you've had some breakout candidates. Luis Garcia, Jr. their first baseman. And Dalen Lyle is probably the guy that I'd focus in on, who really broke out in a big way last year. Who will be your starting left fielder? And someone I think, if you look at the top five in the Nats lineup, that's where you start to kind of feel like, all right, we've got a nice young foundation we can build around. Now we get to the question marks. And I know a lot of these questions for these teams that are not going to have a lot of success this year. It's going to be starting pitching that just doesn't miss a lot of bats. Opening day starter, Kate Cavali is a guy that you could probably start to sink your teeth into. Foster Griffin, who is a free agent. He's going to be 31 this year coming over from the NPB. They do sign Miles Michaelis. So you remember him from his days in St. Louis. And then Zach Latel, they just signed here a handful of days ago. He finished the year was Cincinnati last year. He will round out the Nats rotation. Dave, I don't know what to expect from a run prevention standpoint.

42:31And I say that because it was the worst rotation in baseball statistically last year. It was one of the worst bullpen's if not the worst in all of baseball. And they lose their best player in trading Mackenzie Gore to the Texas Rangers. Now they did get a decent haul coming back as far as prospect capital. But you and I watched enough baseball to know. It's not the immediate impact talent this year. It is definitely more geared to try and bolster this group as early as maybe next year or into 2028. So some growing pains for sure, not only from first year manager Blake Petera, but I think a lot of issues in the run prevention department for the Washington Nationals in 2026. Yeah, you mentioned, you know, Mike Rizzo, the old GM there worked closely with him when I was there in Washington, DC. I have an affinity for that guy as a baseball guy. You know, you say baseball men sometime around certain people. That was the feel you get with Mike Rizzo.

43:31Maybe it was time for a new shakeup to try to do it a different way than they did it. You mentioned with CJA Abrams in Mackenzie Gore. Those guys came over in the Wonsoto deal back when Wonsoto was a member of the Nationals. And now you've already moved on from one of that key piece of that deal in Mackenzie Gore. So I guess my question, Jensen, is now with a new leadership group here. And we're going youth, right? We're going youth in front office. We're going youth as the manager is that now the way the Nationals are going to operate is that we will be that team that's got to trade away, quote unquote our best player in this iteration being Mackenzie Gore and get younger and hope those prospects pan out like they did in the Wonsoto deal only then to move those very guys years down the road and keep kind of doing this perpetual cycle. I don't think it will be that perpetual cycle, Dave. And I would qualify Mackenzie Gore as a unique circumstance. I don't think they were planning on extending him and kind of knowing that there was a little disconnect between the previous front office and

44:36Gore. And then obviously with this new regime coming in, they really wanted to put their hands into the mock here and really mold this club in their own identity. Couple of prospects, because we'll probably see some young pups here whether it be in July or maybe in the second half. They got a youngster at their basement in Brady House who is probably still going to try and challenge for an opening day spot. But I wouldn't be surprised if he finds his way into our nation's capital at some point here in 2026 in earnest. Yarl and Susana is a guy that is that finally you mentioned the Wonsoto trade. He was the last piece of the puzzle in that 2022 deal. Dave, this guy throws absolute missiles. I mean, it is 100 plus. It is fury. He has got a harness the command a little bit. But if you're looking for maybe that ace apparent in maybe the next handful of years, that's the guy. For me, I would watch on the pitching side AA triple A. We'll see how far he goes up the ladder this year. And also Travis Sakura is the third rounder in 2023.

45:38Ahead Tommy John surgery in late August last year. So we'll check his rehab timeline. Those are a couple of the big prospects. You want to keep your eye on. But as I said, you know, this will be unique year. This is a growing year. This is a player development year. I would not be shocked. I know you've asked me many times about some teams. And if they get to the deadline, would they be willing to listen? CJ Abrams would be the piece that I think that the gnats would certainly listen to under this new regime. You're always looking for athletic middle infielders. He's a guy that does show a little bit of pop. He can hit 20 homers, but he can steal a bunch of bags. You know, he can definitely be a 30 plus stolen bad guy. So if you're looking for a name that would be on the market, I would identify him before the year. And if the gnats go off to, you know, their predicted slow start, you may see this regime start to listen sooner than later. Is there what am I missing in this wind total at 65 and a half? I have not played it. But if I were to play it, I could only play the right. I could only play the under here, Jensen, right? Like how

46:42do you get beat with 66 or more wins? All the kids gelled together this quickly. My bold take for the visa and MLB betting guide, Dave, the nationals challenge for the worst record in the regular season in 2026. It's not the Rockies I'm looking at. I believe Will Hill has a play on most regular season losses on the nationals at a pretty nice number. So that would be an under in every sense of that 65 and a half wind total and shop around for your best price. Most regular season losses for the Nats. Very quickly. And I'm going to go back and show my age here. But after those early days there, you know, look, the euphoria of having a team back in DC wore off. They went and made a move to get a guy named Alfonso Soriano back in the day. And he became the guy that you wanted to go to the park, even though they were a bad team to watch him play baseball. If you had to pick a young gun, a position player that you said, I would pay to go to DC and sit in that's park and watch this guy play. Who would that position player be? It's James Wood and you you pull at the heartstrings. My former teammate Alfonso Soriano
