Dozens of volunteers teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank to pack thousands of meal kits for children in need. These kits include kid-friendly items like two milks, two cereals, two fruit cups, and two easy open pop-top cans. The goal is to help families bridge the gap on weekends when school meals are not available. Volunteers came from all over, including some who drove 40 minutes or used their spring break to pitch in. They share that giving back feels great and helps kids focus on school instead of their next meal. In the San Hills, one in six people struggles with hunger, and one in four of those is a child. These efforts aim to ease that burden right in local communities. The kids now head to schools for distribution.
