About this episode
As Russian airstrikes continue in Ukraine, NATO leaders are gearing up to hold their summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. The issue dominating the meeting is the much-debated topic of Ukraine’s accession into NATO. However, President Biden has poured cold water over that happening anytime soon by saying Ukraine is not ready for NATO membership. Former US Ambassador Kurt Volker argues that the opposite is true, and that the bloc needs Ukraine. He joins to preview the summit and discuss Ukraine’s position there.
