(Video) 249 - Overlord Trazyn the Infinite

About this episode

*Ad Free Version available on Lorehammer Patreon, link below.*Somewhere on a ghost world in the Eastern Fringe, a former scribe with a mummification background and questionable self-editing habits has spent ten thousand years assembling what may be the galaxy's most extensive—and most heavily armed—private collection. This episode traces the long, meandering curriculum vitae of Trazyn the Infinite: Necrontyr archivist turned deathless curator, hoarder of Primarch clones and captured saints, occasional and entirely self-interested savior of the Imperium, and perennial loser of the Spear of Vulkan. We examine his uneasy rivalry with the Cryptek Orikan, his brief and uncharacteristic heroism at the Fall of Cadia, and the fate of at least one Inquisitor who went looking for answers and left with considerably less than she arrived with. Expect artifacts of dubious provenance, memories of even more dubious reliability, and a great many things that were, at some point, alive.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k

Music Hello and welcome back to lore hammer. We look at all the faces on the screen. We got a necrone episode Trays in the infinite and everyone was just chomping at the bit to get on this one. I Myself never read the books. I'm like, okay, so that's rule number one. You have to read the books to talk about Trays And so we got Gerald here our avid reader Hello, hello Bull disclosure. I've only read part of it before part of infant and divine before I got too busy But I have it in my collection and I did of course get the new one that came out so No, that's perfect that way you won't be able to spoil the book so we'll get the teasers without the spoilers

So that's perfect for where we are And then we also got fishy here joining us just to make me giggle. What's going on? It's nice to know that's what I'm good for Yeah, at least I have a use as a person makes me giggle and a friendly face So it's like Yeah, yeah, we'll do Have you ever read a warhammer book? I'm working my way through the siege of racks at the moment So you know all about the Kriegs. I figured it's about time that I learned to read and therefore read a warhammer book So yeah, I've ended up very slowly been collecting the Horace Heresy series And then I'm just going to read it in a one of one so I've collected them all That one that one's like you wait till you're on your death and then you read through it when you're like well now It's the perfect time to waste Absolutely And joining us for the first time we got two and a girl from Instagram. Welcome to the show

Hello, I feel like the expert now because I've in fact read both the books and the short story I'm full of KJ in the middle So really you guys will amateurs this in comparison. Yeah, not really I've never even read a 40 key book so like if you got that up on me then Oh, no, oh that is terrible. This is like my 26th book this year. I That's In your career, I never said I was a professional so And in your defense vlog In your defense, but you can't read at all So you do have it on my fault. It's not my fault. We work with the guests for given But yeah, no, we're hyped to have you on You have a Instagram following and a couple of my listeners definitely pointed out You should get around the show she just some fun some fun content. So yeah, tell us about what you want to see Yeah, it's just questions. I guess that's perfect

Every idea can kind of stem from that. Do you have a question for today? Well, obviously why haven't you read the books before doing this? Question I will tell you I will tell you I I kind of divide the the universe into two settings like the canon of like the universe would be like codex is Rule books kind of that vibe and then you got the novels and they are canon But they add the flavor to them. I like I like reading an encyclopedia more than reading a novel If that makes sense. No, that's the truth. I know it's sick. It's gross. I should be put down for it, but Oh, yeah, somebody has no sense for details. I know the stories Yeah, no, and I do hear trees and his story is incredible And honestly, I probably will listen to it. I hear nothing but like And it has become like a cult classic I'd say in 40k Yes, definitely I agree. It's it's one of the best books I reckon on 40k

A bit of a shot. It's Robert Rath So on all of them Yeah, Robert Rath he did he did the infinite of the vine the fall of cady and then the warped in the wicked They all kind of run one after the other So he has a really good writing style really good books nice Cool. Yeah, well in this episode we're going to try to avoid spoiling those books We're going to cover a little bit like give you a little bit of setup for those books But we are definitely going to be focusing more so on like his personality character His cabinet of curiosity's man. He has objects in there that we can discuss So my question of the day and you know, I'll put this maybe on the lore hammer instagram channels Would you glad we're either be locked in trason's basement or mine So you can work that out and post on the discord Corporate once you find the difference between these two pictures You have to choose you have to at the end of the show choose one of the two so

Unfortunately, I don't have a choice Yeah, no you're going with who So yeah Get it off the show get it off If you don't have a basement does that mean I just get to live with you That's not dream come true My house is built on the ocean my friend the basement is the ocean Fish by name yeah, oh yes Yes, fishy we've worked it out loophole Cool well Let's do some quick housekeeping and then we'll dive into this awesome episode Come join the discord. It's a lot of fun. There's links in the description below You can join the patreon Support the show there's ad free versions for $2.50 you can even just throw me 50 dollars if you want doesn't hurt Kind of helps even believe it or not, but yeah support the patreon at lore hammer and we live streams So if you have your own opinions on treason

You can join call in at the end of the show and tell us what you think And we'll post that link in at the end Um yeah looking forward to this episode the chat saying so let's dive into it this episode Yeah, we're going to give you guys a little bit of context from what the necrontur are the great sleep and the awakening I feel like those kind of are essential beyond that. I think we should be good with necront lore um Then we dive into treason's history. It's a very long history very convoluted lots of little details. We'll cover some of it uh Which treason. I don't think history matters. It's in his name essentially. He's infinite like he will eventually have seen everything and done Everything and collected everything. It just doesn't matter of time Um, so it doesn't really matter if he did an m32 or if he's gonna do an m50 in my opinion So we tried to keep his history a little bit shorter, but we will cover some key details um like his rivalry with oracan the rate of soloments the 13th black crusade and uh his rivalry with the salamanders and port fathers

So and then we're getting to his goals his appearance soloments his kind of uh Dynasty home world his personality appearance philosophy Relationships. He's got a couple with a couple different people couple rivalries brewing and then finally his equipment uh from personal equipment to Accesses All upon the sister worry which we'll talk about all those slow details uh and then we'll get into his collection from what allows him to collect from Tesseract labyrinths to what's actually in it such as like the prismatic galleries in the first contact exhibit So lots of cool little things that I think we spend a lot of time this episode just looking around his little museum Seeing what else we could find so uh yeah, let's take it away and see where this journey takes us, I guess Um like I said um We will try not to spoil the books and if we do feel like it's absolutely necessary We'll try to drop your spoiler and keep it nice and clean for you, but yeah

Let's start with a refresher Fantastic And don't worry dear listeners. I do have a quilt pulled up for at some other point in that episode It's not from any of the books, but it is from his episode of hammer and bolter, which is a very good one if you haven't seen it So back to the refresher the necrons here The necrons here were the mortal ancestors of the necrons born on a radiation blasted home world that left them plague by sickness and short morbid life spans Their mortality obsession shaped their culture with cities built more as tombs than homes and pushed them to develop crude Space-sparing technology Eventually bringing them into contact with the old ones and setting the stage for the war in heaven and the biotransferents that remade them into necrons Yeah, the old classic necrons story um Even though it's 60 million years old. It survived It's funny like when we first started lore hammer that was one of the first episodes we did like 250 episodes ago

And now I feel like there's been so much added to it that we could go back and cover some lore in heaven Yeah, you almost need to refresher on all all of the lore that's been added to quite frankly almost everything nowadays All right burn the catalog down start But I always find it funny that you know 60 million years ago we know all about the necrons here But the Imperium can't remember how they built a tank 10,000 years ago Um You try building a tank okay friend That's because they're computers they have a memory they're not like people who died off of the generations Yeah true true fair point The one who will do it with that Necron lore too that I never really knew they had till recently was they have like the AI world engine So to actually control kind of all the systems and all the functions and like you know for that 60 million sleep

That we'll talk about somebody had to keep the kind of things pump in and moving so they had these cool AI bots did all Nice that's got AI Yeah, it's like We're already robots so you can't do that to us It's the Stargarde to gotta look out for those guys will get you I hang on guys hang on The necrons like AI Where's technology going at the moment Are we the necrontic? I think we could be when you when you read up on them like I swear they seem more human than the humans do Yeah Yeah Yeah There's no getting out of it now Like we've spent way too much time on the internet they never had that privilege and so they are acting more human than us we're just So the great sleep after the war in heaven and the revolt against the coutan left the necrons shattered the silent king

Uh, I can't ever pronounce necron names. So I do apologize If someone wants to say it for me for the first time and I will attempt to copy Zerich Zerich thank you very much ordered the survivors into stasis crypts for sleep to sleep for 60 million years Hoping they'd re reawaken to rebuild their fallen empire He himself didn't join them instead destroying his own command protocols and leaving the galaxy behind The slumber didn't go smoothly though many two-world suffered catastrophic failures over the eons destroying millions of dormant necrons What a horrific scene for some of these planets like The ones at the end that no bio transfer instance happening the ones at the beginning maybe did it willingly march into the furnace Not quite aware but then by the end you're dragging them with robot skeletons into the furnace kickin and screaming men women children like

Upgrade for the baby, but everyone else kind of sucks to get thrown to the furnace Mm-hmm, but maybe it's cool. Well, it was only good for like the lords to go in the furnace Everybody else was effectively just like deleted Yeah, essentially, well they will last their minds. They're all just like mindless drones now It's only the overlords and a bar that was actually worthwhile Yeah, they somehow like kept the circuitry of their brain from the hue or not the brain But like the power system but then turned off the function of it you know like yeah suck your solo put it in but you can't really access anything Um, it sounds what happened to you Yeah It's because they deem them worth it, didn't they right from the beginning even before when they were necranteer all the lower people They they had no worth them at all So they didn't bother giving them good bodies Yeah, like and even in like their like higher up It's like a huge class system where it's a game of politics So yeah, if they're like killing their second cousin and not thinking twice for power. Yeah, those those download people they are they don't care

No, they were just they were just kind of bothered just numbers As much as we like to give the L.D.R. and the Imperium of Man Shit for you know doing those same exact things. No the irony's not lost on us Listen, we do for humanity not too humanity There's a difference There's never a difference I always argue this the Imperium is a bad guy I'd rather be necrante and we know what song he would like be over But you won't want to be the normal necranteer What about tyranny or or is it a fraud necranteer in it which one? You see tyranny tyranny it's that I only think they're like cells in a body Like there's only one brain it could just be one organism I didn't think they they can like value their cells the same night. We don't value that I don't know I I obviously have a beard beyond tyranness No, I like it. I like it um Okay, okay, so you're keeping your personality

Being a high queen of a tomb or high fair on fair honest I don't know of a tomb where they don't have anything about gender do they like they can be either They don't have any like discrimination some of the leaders of women. It's just they are I like like a lot of the third party models too. They do make like the the female version It's always funny, but like I do like that they have that option because I feel like they do have that like There's no use for it, but there's still like a vanity almost for like both male and female like this is who I was like They kept their humanoid form Um, but yeah, there's also something about like this like more royal and less like more or nateness Um, we love those minis Yes, we tell they saw themselves wasn't it that's that Like personal view of themselves which only applies if you're high up and you got the good deal Yeah, case and point uh one of the newer Necroman books team world Is the main characters named chemit and I believe this is supposed to be her on the cover art and she doesn't really look

distinguishable from another higher up Overlord so sorry show flash that one more time. Yeah Yeah Okay, so she doesn't have much Maybe maybe you could say it's a little more slender in the thighs there, but also maybe I'm just being pervert hard to say I just wrote what's aren't they they're all just the same pretty much like yeah, so you'll be up So you're pro female necroman But anti female primaries Listen listen, I also like encyclopedia books and hate novels, you know I can't say that I should be put down not given a podcast, but here we are do you do dirty talking binary I Don't jack and tell buddy You don't talk about necroman's too much people will send me whole bits of conversation in binary and I then have to go and translate

And I understand what they're saying So cuz I actually speak binary, but uh people seem to shoot my do but yeah That's how dirty it gets when you get into necroman's people will say this nice That's a better comment section though than tyranny'd once where she's like The thing is they wouldn't even use binary with they because they're not they're not robots the same as like the abmex You have them by not cam. Yeah, they have a whole separate system. So really doesn't make any sense um Yeah, like Yeah, I agree with what you're saying and let's just take that one step weirdly further um like the language of math is universal um is Computer math universe like done Maybe this doesn't quite make sense. No, I don't think I can formulate it properly like no zero zero one zero one like We got to flash some lights at the same time if you're in that car because they have that thing with that nodes

But give away how they're feeling So uh you can say one thing but if you're flashing you lights different So are we leaning towards um what is it semifor? Like they're using world war two ships where they flash lights More time lighting Okay, now I'm putting it all together. It's so much more clear Yeah All right, well tell us about the awakening there all the necroman get put to sleep eventually. They do wake up Okay, so you want me to read this bit now? Oh Right, the awakening rather than rising all at once neck on two worlds have reactivated in scattered waves throughout history With most stirring during the later years of the 41st millennium while billion still lay dormant Early contact often when unnoticed or was quietly suppressed as when farce Farce L-Rad all thrant I don't like their names Preventively destroyed an imperial expedition to stop it from waking a tomb world

This slow piecemeal resurgence is what now drives individual dynasties to reclaim their old empire Okay, so who has the worst names tau with their like a new chat all done or is it you know All of the names Even the imperial names none of them make any sense. I hate everything Do you know who has the best names though the orgs That's true. They get fun names It's said exactly as it's spelled and it's it's it does exactly what it says on the team Face again. Yeah, okay Well, that was an easy way yeah, so eventually all the neck neckron do wake up and it's interesting the neckron wake up in 41 there are a couple stragglers that wake up later a couple predecessors that might wake up sooner But the vast majority of them yeah and 41 which means they're a very recent thing and is that the codex that says that

Yeah, yeah, yeah because when you start reading the novels that's not necessarily true Moral awakening or in which way Like Like more coming out sooner or or how is it represented in the books I didn't get any of that Uh, did my mic cut out test test Uh, you you went all blocking Uh, okay, we'll tell me about it in the book. How did they uh, represent it in the book? This is just other other books because I just read the twice dead king as well Because I'm in a whole neckline thing at the moment and in that the different dynasties just seem to be waking up here there and everywhere Wherever they feel like it and if you read through the books Obviously like the infinite and divine and the walked and wicked a covering Mid like thousands and thousands of years they go. Oh, we're gonna meet back here in like 10,000 years And then they spend 200 years meditating on a problem so

It's like their aginisties are waking up all over the universe all of the time especially if there's pester humans get in there and start trying next up So yeah, I guess yeah, that would be the thing. Yeah, like if if in m2 a tomb world got invaded It's waking up and defending itself and then they might stay awake for a little bit and make sure everything's kosher And then they might go back to sleep or maybe they not they won't oh I know some of them have been awake long enough that they're already losing their minds Because they're degrading and things so that I I didn't agree with that whatever they've said about them all waking up at a similar time They also just waking up whenever they feel like it Yeah, yeah I remember hearing someone else say it was like when the silent king put them to sleep He basically put an all on an alarm clock on the theme worlds But then through happenstance the alarm clock goes off early Sometimes the alarm clock goes off eight later and then some two worlds just said Fuck the alarm clock. We're still we're still staying asleep

And that's news. Okay, that's my two world and that's news eight times I failed didn't they though the world spirits looking after them and stuff or this is the overlords never woke up In which case they go into a whole spiral where the world spirit is in charge until the top person can wake up And then they're kind of like doomed and they turn into zombies that's pretty cool to be honest The fate of my two more when I keep snoozing they're just Zalbaflian nice. We love that's fun. I do like that Yeah, no, I do like when they open up that little bit especially with the Necro since they have that 60-me or 60 million year Window that you can kind of look into That they could go back pretty far and you you can now have these short stories or your home through war lore where they wake up super early And it's not like It's the exception, but it's no longer like necessarily the rule or whatever, you know Yeah Nice yeah, and over that sort of space of time it gives you much more opportunity for divergent empires

Yeah, you know different approaches to the same message especially over You know even 10,000 years led at a loan 10 million years of difference. Yeah, or like to know girls said now they've degraded for 10,000 years So that's where their difference comes from yeah Mostly they still just wake up with the grudge for someone else they want to wipe out I do that to every morning though. I'm starting to relate to Necro five The one line that sold me on Necro as my favorite faction was someone saying they wake up after 60 million years See all these primitive species on their on their collective lawn and it said get the fuck off of it Well, it's worse than that they wake up and people are poking around in their bedrooms Oh That's so nice In the tomes. That's the problem. They're not just on the lawn. They're gone in the house. Yeah, they're triggering your alarm clock. Oh

Yeah, well, I'm doing on a wipe everyone out the wake up and there's a human standing over here like I'm just imagining the one Necro that decided to wear underwear to bed Just like you thought I was stupid and now look at us Well, that's a nice little context about the Necro and where we're kind of that with them as as Would you call them a race as a robotic people We'll take a closer look at tracing the infinite dive low deeper Trason known as tracing the infinite is a Necro on overlord and the self-appointed Archaeovist of the Solomon's galleries his particular interest is the preservation of galactic history Especially anything rare significant or insignificantly guarded by its current owner or insufficiently not insignificantly big difference in words, but we'll get there Artifacts individuals and even entire historical events have been collected by Trason

He considers this preservation those who discovered those possessions missing tend to describe it as rather differently Trason ranges war primarily to protect or expand his collection Often placing acquisition above conventional military objectives remarkably his campaigns frequently accomplish useful Useful to teach strategic goals regardless allowing his servants analyze to exploit the results of Trason's As Trason concentrates a more important matters of claiming his prize Despite his obsession with collecting Trason dislikes unnecessary travel and prefers the galleries of Solomon's One circumstances demand his presence he frequently sends disguised Necro on to this place Many enemies have celebrated killing Trason only to discover they destroyed a lich guard or lesser Necro on lord The real Trason is usually elsewhere manipulating events until desired specimen is safely categorized categorized Yeah

Disagree straight away. I want to disagree because Trason doesn't like to stay at his museum when you read his books They say he disappears off for like 10,000 years and they don't know who's dead or alive because he's just after the same thing Then in fact he likes the chase of going and getting all these things himself so I don't think that's right He doesn't like to sit at museum He's the museum owner and he spends his time traveling around the galaxy and he's never at work When you read some of the books, yes, he is a lot like Indiana Jones So he likes to be the center of attention. I mean every day with him must be exciting He doesn't sit at the galaxy. I mean maybe spent 50 years arranging an orc to be in the right pose But for most of the thousands if not millions of years he's not having an adventure Yeah, that millions of years is quite a big difference. So honestly like I um The then what has been presented like he is that Trason is an old character He's been around since like fifth edition. I think

So we're talking almost a 20-year-old character at this point Um Yeah, this is very interesting like that millions of years. He's been kind of doing this. It's not just like this He's been around since m30 which is definitely how it's presented in codexism stuff um I like the I like the wider birth though like I said it allows for way more opportunity and yeah get this guy out there Get him out of the museum Yeah I mean he's he's autistic as hell he has a collection and nothing for getting his way But he's not obsessively looking at his collection. There's the difference here. Oh yeah He's obsessively collecting Yeah, yeah Yeah, okay, um, and that's another crazy thing about treason too like is okay So now he's out there doing a bunch of things and he does use his clones or whatever So he he does have him and 50 other hymns potentially doing things So when we're talking even about his history It's like what hasn't this guy done? You know what hasn't he gone up to He's always trying yeah, he's trying to get up into all these like interesting situations

He's like yes if I find the eye of magnus and I can like he just has this wild idea now he goes on a wild man hunt for it like Okay, he just likes to watch too, isn't he he doesn't just collect the things he collects what's happening So somehow he'll know like oh this exciting battle supposed to happen like when he gets involved with the faller cadia And he's there to watch and he has like a little window And he can just like look through from another dimension like oh, yeah, this is a good bit of the battle So somehow he knows what's gonna happen. He doesn't just collect things from it. He collects experiences as well Yeah, and that's a big part of his galleries too Is like he collects dioramas of the event as it happens with the people that were there which we'll talk about later and So All right, but basically to summarize all of that if it's not bolted down to the ground if you can pick it up and take it home It's free

So we've heard it's bolted down to the ground he can work with that yeah He's take the ground you'll find a way to pick you'll find a way to pick it up and take it home So it's still free Did Trason actually start the blood ravens I know The prime market the blood ravens is just tracing he repainted a bunch of collector marines and put them up there Okay, new origin story. I'm for it. There we go We do have a couple comments before we carry on actually Gerald okay Lupacall says yeah, but the parts in the books where they say he disappears for a long time It's more they thought he was destroyed and then he randomly turns up like five thousand years ago with some crazy explanation Also, it's not that he necessarily likes to go but he knows he will take care or he knows he only he will take the level of care The captures that he requires Um Interesting okay, well there's his take so if he can do it better himself

Ah, yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah, wait. I imagine that is like he doesn't not only he doesn't like to waste his time on something that's not worth it So it's like if it's not a good prize and I don't see him as necessarily being that interested But if it's like one of the really good things then yeah, he will definitely want to be out there to go do it and you know Catch it with a spoke of balls Yeah, yeah All right It's a little bit more history Trays in the infinite has by zone estimation existed for essentially all of recorded history and quite a bit of the unrequited kind as well His timeline runs from an obscure mortal life as a necrontier scribe through a through a biotransference of disputed Voluntary no voluntaryness into a 60 million years sleep So thorough that entire empire is Rosenville about his noticing And out the other side into a galaxy he has spent the last 10,000 years treating as a very large very disorganized museum in need of his attention

He has outlasts of the fall of his own species golden age the rise in ruin of the Imperium's brightest crusades and more Civilizations the most scholars could name Generally by the simple expedient of being somewhere else collecting something When the worst of it happened the result is a figure less defined by any single era than by his sheer persistence through all of them equal parts Historian hoarder and eyewitness to nearly everything um I think this will be a good point for that quote uh For that quote of his and the hammer and boulder uh show if But if uh that's alright mark. Yeah, sure for sure Okay, so for context uh Some black Legion are trying to uh are fighting some dark Eldar for a some kind of artifact and turns out to be something that belongs to Trason and it was all poised to basically capture them and put him in his gallery So right before he actually locks them up he gives this speech to the uh to the chaos terminator

Hmm You came very close this time When the Necrontier shed flesh and left death for a lesser creatures We thought only of freedom from fear and making kingdoms that would never die We did not think of what else immortality would entail We thought in terms of wars of destruction of conquest But eternity also requires what you would call Entertainment For my part i find infinity allows me to observe the myriad ways in which matter and consciousness manifest I collect them objects life forms moments Yeah, and that is exactly how i picture it his voice And he likes moments he likes to be there to see it He can record it because they can record through their eyes can't they so he's like i'm saving this for later and he's recorded the experience Yeah, and like the little portal like he said they just pokes his head through takes a little gander anywhere in the universe

Um because they often say that then he's like something exciting happening or like when he's upset in oracan He's like i'm gonna think about this later so he records it so that he can see oracans reaction later on So he can just enjoy that moment over and over again So yeah Does his Stand outside the Milky Way galaxy is there any reference to him making it beyond? I thought i need a silent king was supposed to have gone off into the void Yeah, like he went off and like lingered But i just and now picturing like trays and just sending off one of his clone bodies just launch him off for a million years He's he floats to the next galaxy to see what's over there um But also with like necrot on there and they're like technology of like portals and stuff You'd think they'd be able to Transverse that distance easier and stuff like why stop it one galaxy to travel very well to be honest From from the stuff listed in the books I mean

They'll be like rushing to get somewhere and they're like oh because we're just gonna travel through space It's gonna take us like 80 years to get there like Yeah, they don't seem the best at traveling long distances really They have like two kind of Different lore eros with the travel it seems like for one they had where They had Dolman gates and they would use these Dolman gates and portals and stuff and like it was Instantaneously they were kind of moving shit around and then it seemed like they dialed that back And then kind of took away those and made it so as mortgages like that spaceship Void travel concept and then But not where it was like the Eldar's gates or whatever and then As they were using them that they were collapsing weren't they and inside the webways and stuff We're getting for the demons and all kinds of things. Maybe it was getting less and less easy to travel through them And things like that Yeah, like it's very short stories that you know

Gets all mixed up Yeah, it's very very much that Yeah, and I think in the codex to there's something about like The way the galaxy is set with the warp and the web where what not if you try to travel outside of it There's just no way you can So that's why like and I think it's in the Necron codex like It even though it is very fast by our standards the Necron still travel at a very slow rate So only the silent king was actually able to go out of the galaxy And apparently he did conquer some systems like outside the galaxy for For his people whenever they got you know whenever they got their flesh and blood back Okay, okay We guess if you have forever to do something what does it matter to you if it's taking you 200 years to get there Yeah, if you have infinite copy bodies of yourself that every night when you dream you just upload all your personalities into themselves again Not true. I hate this whole thing with infinite bodies. They don't have infinite bodies even Trassen doesn't have infinite bodies

It's okay Everyone's response is every time like they all die in battle. They go we can infinitely we print them There's many bits in the books where that's not in fact true that every time they recycle them They're degrading they get blocked by blackstone and things and they're losing thousands upon thousands of them They are they can't just end this to be recycled even Trassen himself and he has a special superpower for Putting himself in other bodies He still has limitations. He can only do certain distances. He gets blocked by force fields and stones There's all kinds of references and stories and watch that in fact He he very nearly does die because They aren't impolice they can't and keep Yeah, like every necro on that was bio-transfered that's that technically is the limit that that's the cap how many bodies they now have And it does they can make the bodies They can't necessarily make the might they can't make the minds to go in them So while they can endlessly manufacture more bodies

They don't have any more personalities To go in and the ones they do have a degrading Over the years so eventually They're the kind of war now You think they'll just figure out a way to toss in some like conoptic construct AIs into the the necro warriors and the Fucking who cares? That was a question. I have the other day and people were like no because that's just programs And I'm like they're essentially the the lowest one. What's the difference? But the people constantly say to me they can just make them again like and I'm like they can't Yeah, they can do you very very well They can regenerate very very well like a lot of times in the in the in the codex and some of the some of the short stories It's like they go in a flash of light some some People fighting them are thinking oh okay. I destroyed them Sometimes that might be the case, but then other times it's they're going off to be actually be repaired or whatnot Just so they can be sent back out later

Yeah Do that if the circumstances are right Mm-hmm. But yeah one one dead or destroyed necro and that's it. There's no they're they're not make can't make any more of that so So does that explain why they don't like You know like the dolent gates and the webway stuff because there's too much risk there because you're not just destroying bodies You're destroying the personalities of anyone that is risking Traveling in that method so better save than sorry. Let's go slow At least we know the people inside Yeah, I like Your infinite anyways in time essentially you got you got those 80 years to burn fond of a question I guess And I've just taken it back a few steps The irony of this infinite person having infinite moments making it his life mission To collect moments despite the fact he has an infinite amount of them

You know that's a session I guess that is a session That you know he's trying to capture these tiny little snap shots You know recreate them in his museum in his galleries In spite of the fact he's one of the few beings that actually within the universe It kind of mean those tiny moments mean nothing Yeah, they might be these big momentous battles victories Or whatever occurrences but in the grand scheme of 60 million years Yeah, like what is even the fall of man in the imperial what is even that nothing yeah, but they mean something to him Yeah, yeah, yeah, like it so that meaning to him like is his code kind of corrupt Did a little bit of making him quirky Or is this take his personality from before times Well, that's it isn't he's supposed to really based on his personality from before

But the thing is he's noted your average necrum He doesn't conform with their way of living their structure at all A lot of the necrums are very loyal they are very stuck in their structures You know with the royals and the overlords and all the things there's like a chain of commands And he sees himself outside of that he doesn't agree with it He would rather avoid the silent king and when they come looking for him He's like oh god no can I duck out of this he doesn't want to be in that where his most necrums are so programmed to work for their superiors Whereas he kind of has his own stuff going on this name Yeah, it does also help he is an overlord so he is like one of the higher runs of necrum society So he is he is afforded that much more Personal freedom I guess compared to anybody else Yeah So let's talk about his origin shall we see where he got this chip on his shoulder Uh before he was tracing the infinite self-appointed custodian of everything worth keeping

He was simply tracing a necrontist scribe and cheek archivist and trusted with the solemn duty of mummifying dead Fairons for their journey into myth It was one presumes tedious work formed with admirable rigor What happened next is a matter of some dispute Trasen himself insists he was dragged into bio transference against his will his flesh Traded for deathless metal under duress or a can who was no particular Reason to who has no particular reason to flatten him recalls otherwise that Trasen went willingly even eagerly The truth is presumably far away Somewhere in his own memory behind protocols he installed himself for reasons he no longer remembers and has by design No intention of investigating He's almost creating his own mythos

Sure, he's gonna argue yeah, you have a lie about when you go to a new school You come up with that one cool detail about yourself. Yeah, no one knows Nice, I'm not sure he knows I'm not sure any of them truly know I think when they were transferred They lost a lot of that information Because from reading other necront stories as well Most of them kind of remember the trauma of being dragged in for the bio transference But obviously there were others doing the dragging in So it's did the catam put some kind of memories in there or did truly none of them want to go in there other than the very first ones Because everyone seems to remember being dragged in there against their will I think that's probably more how it went if I know 40k there was some kicking and screaming involved Mm-hmm. Yeah, but there was they had in you see in some of the other books in like the sight in the Yeah, twice dead king they had specific marshals who would go out and drag in the people who didn't want it

And they would literally beat them so they would drag them in broken as long as they weren't dead by the time they got that I mean there was dead bodies littering the way in there Like people went in against their will it's documented some of the other books that they didn't want it so I I think even this ship here it might have been the other one upside down But I'm pretty sure this one they were like yeah, they use this to fly through the streets and throw bodies on top of all corpse Yeah, yeah Very fun good times great times Yeah, it's a work and we just can't have nice things can we No, this is an upgrade except your metal body No, I do think I need to research that more um, like I did ask the question the other day about why did they have to go And the consensus seemed to be that the people at the top who were tricked into it the katana had the most again And so they need all their slaves to go with them Because who's gonna do all the running around for you if you haven't got any slaves to boss about and obviously they had an extreme hierarchy

So they chose it and everyone else had to turn the line Yeah exactly and uh When you're talking about their level of technology you can't really step out a line either So it's very A society where you can step out of line Yeah Yeah It is fun to like it's very similar to like Egyptian mythos where you know the pyramids would very or the The Pharaohs would bury their slaves with them so they could have slaves in the afterlife lots of cultures did that but yeah Very cool That's probably where they got it from then isn't it a cock in the air? Yeah, yeah, I would Let's put my thumb on it Yeah, um it is cool that they'd like leaned hard into that Egypt route like when they first came out in Akron It was definitely more of that You know terminator vibe from the 80s or whatever Well now you can have these cool stories like Tracing the infinite where you could not have that with all of Akron. There's like no quirky fun characters

Yes Even stuff like how they're made now their bodies with all the cables and their reactors and the fluid and all of the things Originally they seem to be just solid metal robots pretty much and now In the descriptions when they're fighting them they're cutting them to pieces There's bits of wiring and trivet and stuff flying everywhere Do I think when you come to see the models makes it much more interesting to to paint them and things Knowing there's so much going on in them. They're not just solid metal anymore Full of all these glowy Things and stuff going on It it brings in some lovely options for weathering as well You know, there's going to be hydraulic fluid leaking. There's going to be rustic hearing There's going to be ex-wise that especially in the big grim ducks Star nowadays, you know, you can make them filthy Whereas in my in my mind's eye when I think of netcrons from my childhood they were like crow They were Terminators and there's a way

Like descriptions that some of them they go on about like having less emotions and stuff They can't cry and then treasuring in one of these at one point he's obsessed about something And he's like he feels his face is wet and he's got oil running down his face. Oh So they really make like a leap there that they had they have nothing can now you can cry oil like Unless he's just smashing Yeah, like um Yeah, and like maybe you could just explain that away is like this weird little glitch with the necrodermis It's like he he was sad so his necrodermis like reformed and let some oil Weird either way, however that happened. They have oil inside them too Yeah, yeah, but like she's like a whole thing But to have like actual tear ducts, you know, with your oil drops that seems a little odd to engineer But maybe I guess they went to that level of detail with the boys and then and and like I think old old were hammer But have some tear ducts. I mean, I think what old were hammer is that was too like the

The more higher up you're the better the body that you get so maybe the rank and file Necrodewa is they're not gonna they're not gonna need oil tear ducts or whatnot, but an overlord. Yeah, why not? Is it like buying a mobile phone, you know, that's the standard iPhone well that one's the Necron tier plus Yes, exactly what I like there isn't it so yes Yeah, look at those guys when we change Yeah, tell us about the Nilec dynasty. I'm glad you said it first because having learned it all from reading I'm like So you say no, I just make that up there like what there we go the Nilec dynasty Is a Necron dynasty ruled by fairrun Chris back in this like it looks like crispy cream here Chris back from its crown world Oh god, you're giving me all the words because he's world get in I that's what we're going with and marks by its light teal heraldry in ancient times the dynasty amassed enormous treasure worlds

Looted from countless conquered civilizations Building up riches said to surpass those of every other Necron dynasty combined Back by military might to match That wealth bread and arrogance isolationist streak and the Nicaragas their or guard their hordes genocally And while generally content to leave outsiders alone responds to any intrusions with total merciless annihilation of the offending party In more recent times they've shifted from pure isolation to active expansion and since the great rift to reopen They've turned to hunting chaos forces and sealing off an entire sector Compending it. It's billions of inhabitants to construct strange geometric monuments This is what I actually know about really. I know some bits from when he's visited Like the other collections in in the books because obviously he goes on to Barrow some things when he fancies them

And they they know he's coming and they're like oh trans in we knew you'd pay us pay us a visit Please don't take anything and he's just like okay then I'll have it returned by the time you wake up in another like million years You know and that's he doesn't because he needs to study it a bit longer. Yeah Just a real good friend, you know you lend him something you you don't even lend it to i mean never gives it back Yeah pretty much It's a good thing that like this dynasty apparently is pretty wealthy You can even kind of tell with its color scheme. It has this almost like royal blue-ish kind of like and and a lot of gold It's a little more stand-out-y, but uh He Trason has some difficulties with his dynasty though like while he's from there He definitely doesn't really hold the same power and authority there like he He's kind of an outcast, you know what I mean Um, he doesn't fit in he's not like you than that crums

Yeah, yeah exactly so he's made them all mad because he doesn't follow the rules so they're all fed up of him So yeah, it's kind of like pushed the outside, isn't he? Yeah, so while he is from this dynasty And he might have some soldiers that from this dynasty and stuff He definitely kind of is his own thing and he set up a Solomon Solomon and then Solon and so however you would say it Um Yeah, that's kind of now his kind of two-world and we'll talk more about that eventually, but thought we'd mention this dynasty So we'll get to the awakening of Trason in m30 This was maybe his primary one, but man after here and you read the books like I'm rethinking codex lore and how to refer in this So let's do it takes us For 60 million years Trason did what every self-respecting Necron Noble did nothing In a tomb very quietly when he awoke in m30 He found his galaxy rearranged his people diminished and most of his peers responded to the news with a sort of homicidal outrage

One might expect from his pieces that just discovered it was an empire that was gone and its bodies were gone too Trason notably did not rage he cataloged well there's so fallen He appears to have seen an unusually large interesting collection awaiting to be assembled A temperament that whenever is it's psychological origins have served him rather than Rather than better Well has served him rather better than alienate him Um Yeah, so that's kind of how I always kind of picture Trason wakes up. He does wake up 10,000 years earlier than everybody else Um, but yeah, you're given a completely different vibe here He had to occupy himself somehow didn't he? They all stave off insanity with obsession It's across a lot of the books now They all have an obsession and that's the only thing that keeps them going the ones without an obsession They just lose their marbles

This is his obsession and it's what's keeping his mind going are it kind of the same because he's obsessed with messing with time Absolutely he will spend forever meditating on what he can do with it And a lot of the the other ones have have undertaking great projects Whether that's waging war and collecting more planets or wiping out other races They to survive they need an obsession and I think this is just his obsession And just like what you brought out earlier, we're like you're wondering well was this Trason's personality before the biotransference? I think To a degree yes because he was an archae of this before the biotransference, but then this just kind of Really enhanced it to the extreme Yeah A weird gap of time too that we never really talked about yet on this episode is like the war in heaven itself is like this million year long war We don't even really know how long and like Trason could have been alive for that whole amount of time and bio

In Necroon for fighting the war in heaven like so his history is actually quite quite long It could be a million year war that he was actually alive doing Necroon things Who knows they don't very specific on the early times are they the mean the books never cover the early times He was obviously already fairly old when he was transferred because they said like he was all hunched over in like an old man So he'd obviously lived longer than most of the actual Necrontier did I mean a few of them were known to live much longer than the others Whereas some of them were barely making out of their teens There were ones that did make it older so obviously he must have been on that so that's why he's hunched over now is because he was already hunched over before So buddy. Mm-hmm. Give him the tear ducts, but also give him a little hunch Just tip him over a little bit Don't let him be a coaxist though, isn't it because that's how he sees himself Yeah, no, it's it's like almost going back to like having a female Pharaoh Necroon that kind of enhances her body to look female because it

It is you you know like and it would be weird to like not have even just that Little tie back to yourself even though it would be unnecessary So it almost seems like coming out of all of this at least to me They've released their biological form. They've left their biological bodies And almost in doing so their psychological beings have become so much more important You know, so they're pretty projecting Words are easy projecting into the physical form their own mental visions of themselves and the one the biggest downfall is their mental state is degrading Um, I mean, I'll be very open and honest here when I've had issues with mental health having something to focus on Has been my one saving grace So I completely get the having an obsession when you've got nothing else Especially over that sort of period of time. God help me

But this is really per the decorative new light Yeah They are do I do I agree with you there they gave of all their physical ailments and all it left them was mental illness Basically You know, yeah, they are they have real significant mental issues because that's all they've got left now Yeah, and we haven't even mentioned the flare virus yet, you know like now we're really talking Get me started on that I'm I'm not believing that that's actually a curse anymore I'm like I think it's a good evolution of necrons I think that's how they're going to take out all the humans and all these biological Racists now. I'm like I'm firmly in the camps that it is not a curse after all It's not enough to see animisement you got a bunch on their corpse when you're done exactly Where are those tin hats when you need them?

It's in somewhere here Yeah, I've just read all about the players And so I'm like quite into them now. They are much more efficient killing machines than a standard netcrump Doesn't matter about the whole eating thing they are just to go flying into battle with like no reservations Like none of this standing around taking five minutes to aim your gun or whatever They are in there and they're ripping people in from them. I mean that's the way forward for necrons Yeah, and look even comes with it's own built-in friend Tom yeah, we'll ignore the weirdness and and just stick with how much better they are fighting No, but I'm just saying this helps Tom helps fend off the mental illness That's his tip. Get yourself a time. Yeah Is is is that the netcromb version of Wilson? It helps Like in the middle of a battle like a lemon rust battle tank blasts away the body and he just goes in search of another one

Oh Just scouring the battlefield So we've got quite taken with the flares. I think that's that's just uh just can you just imagine those coming at you It's just full horror movie, isn't it? We've gone from terminators to just like the months to some people's nightmares It's just immense. I just love that take on it But then the next is the next is short story goes into fantastic horrific detail about a guardsman encountering flayed ones in a freaking blacked-out bunker of all places as well Don't like that they with a little bit of double-nerding there is something a bit terminator Escaping about it as well the flesh peeling away from the terminator They really sort of that sort of vibe to the flayed ones apart from it's the other way round

But no, no other books they do give you a like another look at the flayed ones that are like a totally different point of view That that just makes me feel like it is just another way for them to go That it's not it's not just a virus and a curse and it's said The people are like oh they lose their minds and they can only think about like eating people or getting flesh back on them And like that's only the lowest ones and let's be honest the lowest ones of all of Necrons society don't really have a mind already do they so Yeah, yeah What do you think about this um, you know, we're making fun of Tom here up top strap down there, but what about slap and like A rack cool like lizard pelts on them or like you know, you could get some cool little custom conversions going a difference You know, so you know put one covered in like fudge wrenched with blood. That'd be pretty fun too. Yes, or orcs They wear like orcs Well, they wear all different race if you're biological they'll wear you

Yeah, okay, you paint them up with any color. Can you be nice? So yeah, so they definitely don't have like a preference. It's it's the sheer biologic squishy nature of it that they like to kind of get into Seems to be I mean they're pretty similar to destroyers aren't they that will destroy any biological like tall I mean players who wear any biological thing good for them really really diverse with the things that they want to wear I love it. I can actually like one of the boys I've no got images where I've you see like the 40k at the Kitbusters where they get an awk that is like wearing the worst Space marine armor You know I'm a space marine now. I'm imagining a flade one doing that with an awk Yes, someone needs to do that This is about the closest we can get this image just green stuff on green necrons. Yeah, yeah, that's pretty close

But even just that image just must be draped from From a flade one. It's biological. It's a living thing It I suppose it depends on what extent they take that whole biological mass They which way they want to take it but you know just a living Moss pile a gillisuit that's actually going to come and check you out They do cover that in the wicked of warped that's a whole thing So don't talk about that bit too much because that that's a whole part of the book is that there are other ways they can Have biological things on them Like they can even wear bits demons and stuff like they really are equal opportunities So yes, no if you want more stuff on like Flarey type things wicked and the warped Seriously that really goes into it. It's ice That's a whole other note I'll tell you what I do. I have a couple of squads of flade ones

So I will just paint the skin off each one a different color for a different sentient species that they just You know, yeah If they put on orc skin when they keep spotting orcs left and right yeah, that's Yep And interesting one actually whether that would whether that would happen. I mean they've gone infinite source there I mean that'd be quick battle because orcs just want to fight forever And the necrons would just keep needing more skin to recover their bodies as it rocks away So they could be like locked in the end this little thing there where it's like It's just like the worst gardening situation everywhere you got the necron gardening like these tiny baby orcs while they pop out of the ground like what the Yeah No, because they have that whole there is a quote in the book one of the bits before the chapter You know they have separate bits and it's an orc describing about fighting the necrons And he's saying how much better it is to fight these like tinfock creatures compared to a human because no matter how many times you kill him

They just keep coming back So they can hack they like it because they can have the end of battle Nice I like that I like that good for gif and them I love it when people get what they want Love it live love play Oh my god Well this episode's going on you so fun character to talk about maybe let's skip these notable campaigns because honestly They're just straight from the books And I think we all need to read them including myself Homera project I think we should just jump to his appearance and carry on and learn kind of some other stuff about them Okie do jump jump straight into it So tries and the infinite cuts and imposing almost regal figure among the necrons his gleaming gleaming necrodermis frame draped in flowing robes Rather than left as bare metal giving him the air of a curator more than a soldier

A miniature painting guide describes his armor rendered in dark gun metal tones highlighted with Along the raised edges for death worn between beneath robes Typically painted a deep green with intricate patterned trim and a metallic brass toned face lit by vivid glowing green eyes That that poised watchful expression suits his character his unit law ties him to the eerie phase Shifting phase stiffing wow Phase shifting battlefield presence common to necrone nability Able to translocate in and out of existence by ancient doleman gate science Rather than commit to open sustained combat Rather than looking like a brute warrior He carries himself and dresses like what he is an ancient overlord who sees the galaxy as a gallery and himself as its curator He sounds an awful lot like um, I don't know if this will translate all that well basically during the 18th 19th century. There was a whole

um Almost class of English gentry that we called the antiquarians and they just went around collecting stuff Because they had the time because they have the money um They found a load of You know historical objects from around the world especially in the UK They would make They would make fake ruins So they'd make a fake castle ruin in the garden because it looked pretty And he sort of got that whole bearing to himself, you know I'm above the fighting But I'm gonna travel to this part of the galaxy to go and look at this old stuff Because why not? And he does build his own castles, doesn't he? Yeah Just for fun Yeah And that's the way he's dressed like he's a librarian pretty much or a lord And yet and they say he's not a soldier and yet a lot of the time he ends up in like battles and hand-to-hand combat and survives And as well

And yet you think how dangerous are all these necrons in the lowly librarian essentially You'll completely take you apart And when he's not even a trained soldier he's not even there for fighting. He's just some old dudes You know, a very strict late-fi policies on the necronter like the guy from Jerry Seinfeld that librarian Immortal um what what do you guys think of his model um Hey It's got some cool trinkets on him you like his model. It's pretty old one It needs an update. Yeah, he's stolen cape Isn't that Is that mean his cape is more of a thing than just in the books when he actually steals it is he had the cape all along in all the models Yeah, like he's only had this one model um and yeah, he's always the question is whether it's the cape that does stuff that messes with time or whether he hits just a generic cape

Hmm Well, okay, we'll find that The big part of his character is that he has this special cape but obviously he gains that's one of the books I've never even heard of his cape before and like it's I guess the one of those things um Tell me more tell me what these novels are telling you maybe we're in different worlds Well, I don't know because that just mentions that he wears a cape to have a certain look Whereas obviously in the books the cape becomes important because it helps with like Other people mess in the prime. It's a big defense. It's a big plot point is this cape So did he have a cape beforehand or is this been the thing all along? Are they just returning how he got it in the first place? I don't know Yeah How he got it something but yeah So who knows it's one of the awkward things with the novels yeah, he's like where could you use a model? Yeah This is kind of why I like sometimes in cyclopedias we

Oh someone said it's just generic cape for the most part Mm-hmm, but so yeah, I don't know I think for it's time the model is stunning I think if they didn't update I think they could do incredible things with it Yep, Mark I did send you a In compared to this guy, you know Yeah Very nice. I did send you a picture of a legally distinct collector of infinity that uh a third party Individual did I'm not gonna name names or anything for their you know, so they don't encourage EWs wrath Let's open this bad boy up. It's actually pretty cool Um, we're getting there we're getting there Wait Gerald are you trying to infer that games workshop they're trying to discourage people from Making more people interested in the hobby and it being more accessible

I said no such things though. I don't know what you're talking about How would he fight and all that stuff? I forget that in all these models You like they're going hand-to-hand combat their fighting with like swords and blades and all these things Not just him there But it like space points everything and then you like you've got a book like on a stand Don't make fun of their capes Like seriously surely the cape in a battle a hand-to-hand combat cape just swishing around surely it's getting in the way It's used for dramatic effect And and on top of that you can actually use a cape if you need to so you can in theory if your disarmed like put your sword away You can use it to wrap the enemy weapon There's a whole host of things that you can go into. I'm not going to go off on that autistic tangent tonight Um, I think if he got a new model This is the route that we should do but maybe that would be too similar to the silent king

But I do like this image of him where he's sitting on the throne um Just kind of brooding it looks like Looking over maybe it's like That doesn't some of his personality in the slightest he would Yeah, he couldn't sit there like that he constantly has to be Organizing and collecting and doing things if he's not out there actively getting more stuff Then he is playing with these toys that he's collected Yeah, you know, he's like arranging an orc leg into a different position or sowing a person back together Like so no granddia sent for you. What's the other how how can we make him if you were GW How would you make him just a little more grand? You know, he's such a such a cool character. He needs a mini update What'd you do? He needs he needs to be more like shaped and hunched and more imposing and a bit more evil looking I think Like it looks quite placid there doesn't he has some of these I'm like when you look at like the the front cover on the book

And so he has a dark kind of evil brooding look there That is like yeah, I'm like that he's like a skeleton, isn't he with these hood over and all this kind of stuff I think it makes nothing epic with that I'd like to point out that in the painting in the appearance thing as Described in a miniature painting guide for him His face should be what would say bronze Hmm Yeah So I had to go and graffiti all your books and appropriate it yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah Not good enough to eat up not good enough Is it he's like he's not teal on this book cover either He's like he's got like a light blue bit on the front of it It's quite funny because I always thought necrons were mostly like metal and silver and things and then the more books I've read actually they come in all different colors some of them are like shiny white They're like ceramise and things and and have amber glowing eyes instead some of them are like cold black and

red painted ones and they're they like some are literally dipped in gold after they get their necrons That they are the the royals royal ones are cutting golds. That's like their sign of being royalty, isn't it? Yeah, so Yeah, I did remember uh here about one guy that did his custom dynasty And there are made to look look like sandstone as opposed to metal So that's cool. Yeah, there you go. That's pretty cool Yeah Right, geometry read the next bit Take it away Goals so trans and trans accartis nomad trans and ambitions are by netcran standards almost quaint He does not want to conquer the galaxy He does not so far as anyone can determine want to exterminate a single species out of principle He wants things the rare and more historically significant the better and he wants them arranged properly In cases with adequate lighting

This may and for his mental health You know, how sad and there too This makes him easier to negotiate with the most of his kind and considerably harder to predict Since his cooperation can generally be purchased with the promise of an interesting specimen and his of course that an end minute arc and just as easily by threatening one of his already Of when they already in his possession So Yeah Yeah, I like this obsession part that you kind of have brought forward where it's just like that is kind of Whatever the netcran do it's obsessive he chose to collect things normally in netcran just like Skawer planets of life His is a little different Obsessive he's more inclusive than everybody else yeah, yeah because he will happily Help out of human if he want if it aligns with his purpose I mean he'll collect them he'll he likes to get them out and talk to them He doesn't just see them a lot of netcran see other species humans and stuff

I mean humans they're always referring to him. It's just like shaved eight They don't see there is anything more than bacteria basically and annoyance there nothing to them There's so beneath them. I mean Necrons trying to deal with bullets. It's utterly but beyond them They're like we're used to dealing in battles with gods with stars with that level of power They're like what is this piece of metal flying at me? Like they just can't comprehend for most netcrons all of these other things are so far beneath their notice There's so self-absorbed with everything they only ever want to pursue their own like Riches and planets and wars and all these things whereas he really Studies everything else he has all these minds garbs and things he wants to control everything He wants to control the narrative of everything really Yeah, and like he doesn't want to destroy the galaxy and stuff in it which is quite different for villain

Yes, he wants to save everything in the galaxy maybe not for being nice He wants to save it so that he can continue to observe it so he can keep it for himself Yeah, as he's kidnapping you he's like I'm trying to help you. Well, I'm doing this for your benefit. Like you like yes You're being rescued do not exist do not resist Yes, let me put you in my museum you can stand here in stasis for the next two thousand years or something done. I'm in Yeah, he doesn't use me with like his collection and stuff They I mean some of these books when he's got an inquisitor and then he he lets her out because he wants to use her He has her out of fair bit you know to talk to her to learn from her And he always forgets that she has human bodily functions And she'll be like scrounging through the exhibits for like food he's preserved because He doesn't ever occur to him that she might need to eat you gotta feed your pets Yes

Like pets yes It's quite amusing, but that's how little they think of other races on the whole is that even he has great interest in them And he still doesn't Think of the most basic things. I mean you think when they will lose I mean where are all these orcs and humans and things Going to toilet and stuff like that And then When they're cleaning up after like all these times like Tyrannids and orcs have escaped from their exhibits because you know Arecans forever met now since this is me and you just think all that mess to clean up How much of it is like a whole load of those just needed to go for a quick way up the corner at what point you just pack up and get a new Tombworld you know Saves this net and all they scarves for cleaning Say yeah, he's not a villain. He's definitely more of an anti hero Yeah, okay, that could probably be a better approach to him Yeah, cuz yeah, he's not this destructive character And I think that's what maybe a villain would be is like what's actually happening? What's the outcome? It is destruction

It's like going towards entropy where Trason is going towards preservation conservation But not consent, but the other two he's hard for All right, well, let's dive into solimnance solimnance And this is a place depending on who is asked either a tomb world or a private museum or an act of monumental hubris Rendering in stoned and stasis fields. It is organized with meticulous what or meticulousness One would expect from a former chief archivist Sector's galleries cataloged exhibit stretching back farther than most civilizations have existed to be cataloged It's contents range from the mundane to the cosmologically alarming shards is that shards of the satan Keep or kept as trophies entire regiments frozen mid-battle at least one tear and it splinter fleet acquired under circumstances

Trason probably considered manageable at the time That the collection has on more than one occasion has attempted to eat its own curator seems to not have dampeted his enthusiasm for acquisition in the slightest Yeah, you ever watched like you two videos of like these like Indian billionaire animal reserves where yeah, it's like that on a grand scheme and a little less management Just it's Jurassic Park Literally is like Jurassic Park, isn't it but he doesn't care because to him it's nothing more than an annoyance if one's in price to eat him I mean, it's that dissapeared for biological life, isn't it? I mean whatever tyranny to chew on his leg he really Really couldn't carry any laks really Yeah, that'd be a cool place, you know, um if you could put a place In the galaxy to go, you know, you made you put black library on the list you definitely put this on the list

um It makes it there in the top three for sure of check it out if you're in the neighborhood come on by check it out Unfortunately, we're not I don't know you two might become an exhibit Yeah, yeah I could hardly find myself leaving the place Okay, it's like that To be fair, if you got loose, I don't think you'd ever find your way out anyway because it's it's a whole planet, isn't it? It's so vast. I think it's on a scale you can't even imagine his collection. It's just So huge Yeah, you're probably accidentally wandering to another exhibit and get eaten that's how we think everything That's Supposed to be in stasis, isn't it though varying levels of stasis because when they do get woken up some of them have noted the passage of time

So they're not all completely knocked out all of the time. I mean it depends on power levels and things like things fluctuate and then suddenly I mean some of them are like really angry if they get disturbed because they know they can kept there for so long I think it depends on how petty tracing is feeling because in his War the museum short story He has like a couple of admec thralls or whatnot and right before he's about to put them back in stasis They were helping him out with something something screw that orican did not gonna spoil anything But then the admec specifically asked him keep me uh Uh Keep me awake when you put me back in spaces so I can observe everything On in the museum I too would like to cater to categorize this thank you. That's why they get on so well. Isn't it? That's great Yeah nice But uh As we probably gathered this episode tracing has quite the personality and I do have another quote

Uh in regards to that, but I'm gonna read the notes part first Tracing the infinite is an obsessive collector meticulous historian and profoundly irritating individual At least accordion and nearly everyone who has had the misfortune of meeting him He possesses an immense intellect and almost pathological fascination with history rare objects and unusual individuals Tracing is rarely hurried and almost never openly enraged Instead he approaches even dangerous situations with the detached curiosity of the scholar Examinating examining an interesting specimen His humor is dry his manners are often impeccable and his arrogance is considerable As with most necrons he considers himself a curator of galactic history rather than a simple thief Conveniently overlooking the fact that much of his collection was acquired without permission The need his eccentricity lies something considerably colder

Trason is capable of viewing entire civilizations as exhibits and living beings as potential additions to his collection He can be charming amusing and even helpful But these qualities should never be mistaken for compassion And the quote I have I originally thought it was from somewhere in the codex, but apparently this was actually Uh Done up by a fan on Reddit, but I do think it really highlights his personality So the story that the redditor made was uh an inquisitor made it onto solnus got out and uh so Trason actually sent her a message with a artifact and this is what the message reads Dear lady Let me express my full-sum appreciation for your most generous gift I realized that you briefly trod my galleries But the fact that you spotted in so short a time that my a Cabrius war collection was lacking three regiments of catech and warriors reveals that you truly have a collector's eye for detail

Please allow me to repay your gift for one of my own Accompanying this message is a hypersome maze a shrinket really only of interest to scholars such as you and I But I trust you will find it amusing Assuming you have the wit to escape its clutches of course It it does just sound like an eccentric British gentleman Doesn't it just it's a mere trinkets you almost something you'd expect here on Bridgerton Very UK centric reference there um But it's you know Oh, I will be kind and charming But I actually just want you in my museum, please He'll do whatever it takes won't you So if you can sweet talk you in there, I mean he's willing to negotiate some of the other books He you know negotiates people in and out people trade other people in like oh you don't take me you can take them Like he's quite respectful about the whole thing

I mean neckwans do have quite the honor system don't they they don't like to just You know go crashing about in and taking things easily every they all these people in 40k seems to have like an excessive amount of honor when it comes to battling and collecting and all of these things Yeah He turns time moments races into Pokemon cards He does we have Pokemon balls those whole things with these little testaracts labyrinth things And like you'll have a pocket full of them. It's so like Pokemon. It's hilarious It's just like which one is he going to throw into basketball and he throws it out and out pops a whole guard Regiment or something I think that's just hilarious It's yeah, it's very the one thing I love about that quote Gerald is the fact that clearly there's other people with a similar obsession But not quite to his level

You know the fact that this visitor recognized that there were three catterchan regiments missing You've got an action Like this is just the most autistic of the autistic As a character it's what we say we're seeing the top of the eye I can like to people with similar interests too, and you like the admer Kwan who doesn't want to put back to sleep and stuff They they a lot of them have similar interests because he he finds them interesting to go and interact with I mean like he'll take them out of their their plastic box just to talk to them for a bit. He always wants to learn doesn't he Like it A different that was all the plastic models on there. It's like the evolution of them Uh, no, this isn't him. I think this is Just hinting that they wanted or that he's missing one like all these other characters did this upgrade model But not him not yet, but there's no way they're not going to give them a new model man

Like they gave them blocks that they're making a new model absolutely. I was thinking they didn't send it out with the new books Like there was so much hype for this second book coming out That I don't understand why they didn't make a bigger thing of it. They mean People online were really hyped for getting it and yet they didn't even make a huge like Sload of advertising in the run up to it where people with desperate getting already they could have made so much more of that and put out new models Stuff all at the same time. It would have been quite the money spinner. I think really yeah, yeah, I would have bought the Trasson with the book Yeah, yeah limited edition treason collect the collection, you know of treason models like yeah absolutely I normally you know GW has like a turnaround for model time. You can't just make minis and stuff But yeah, that seems like a missed opportunity for sure. Yeah, it just baffles me that like because the necrons bret had a relatively recent

Model update that was where you got the oracle update. Why didn't I why did they not do treason along with it since he is a popular He is a popular character What about this for the new treason model? It's it's a big base and on that base is a bunch of empty slots and in the center you got treason So then you can poke them on summon in some imperial guards put on the bases on the base And now you got this cool like multi-unit Maybe too complicated for the club itself there, but I think it's a good idea It depends for you going to go down points costed wall gear or not because you can go to like For an extra time for the car and take horse and do all their shenanigans. Let's just Call it you can give a space for in a power sword for free nowadays. Let's just drop down a warlord Titan All I'm saying is all with the latest changes to the rules I now have to pay for wall gear on my lemon rust battle tanks That's sick. Why would they do that to you?

I mean they did also put the tank costumes down by about 20% each tank, but I'm keeping stum on that I'm not saying a word thing Yeah, so back to treason Treason believes that history is too valuable to be left to those who merely live through it Civilizations rise cultures disappear and priceless artifacts are destroyed with remarkable regularity Whereas treason can preserve them indefinitely His galleries therefore represent his attempt to impose order upon the galaxy's endless destruction He values rarity historical significance and uniqueness Though his definition of each is highly subjective Treason's philosophy contains an obvious contradiction He wishes to preserve history or repeatedly interfering in it He stills important objects a duct notable individuals and occasionally manipulates historical events

Because he believes their preservation is more important than allowing them to proceed naturally To treason. This is not vandalism. It is curation The galaxy produces history Treason simply believes it is it is fortunate enough to have him as its archivist Well, does he know when a moment is going to be important like? Oh you know You feel right here Divineness and stuff don't they though like predict the future somewhat like that's his whole argument with our account Isn't it that all the things he's collected get in the way of the other The other necrons been able to predict the future because it seems like with all their mathematical minds They can look at what's happened and the algorithms and they can predict what's probably going to happen or some things on a a gloat like on a Galaxy-wide scale are probably pretty obvious that they're coming like when he goes to see what's going on with the fall of

Cadia I mean it was like some things going down and then he can view the whole galaxy's the thing in like well That's a problem and then get himself over there quick, doesn't he? Yeah Same Yeah, definitely doesn't want to see the galaxy perish for sure You've been bored then yeah, what would he do? Yeah, if you don't have subjects to Lord over things to look at and arrange yeah Yeah, he does almost Set feel to me like he almost sees himself almost on the level of a god It's how could you not? Well, he's Curating the galaxy He is I always think he's curating what's going on to a certain extent because he messes with things he fills with things when he's taking things in and out of history I mean yes, he might take things at the moment of death so as not to

To change what's happening right then and there But then he'll throw things back out to save himself and you like oh There's a tank that's been missing for five thousand years And you like well actually he's just changed history changed what's happening in this moment A lot like there was not gonna be a tank there and also there it is I mean he's Messing with how everything's running to such an extent you think without him there How different would the galaxy now be? I can also confirm from experience if a tank turns up where it shouldn't Things don't go well Unless it's on your side Even still you've got questions to answer why the hell that tank got there Yeah, a lot of questions were probably asked during the fall a Katie event Yes, well the thing is they were too thick of it in the battle to you question what was going on And they could only be grateful that more help had arrived and even the ones that come out of the like test or act storage things

They don't know what's going on. They just go oh enemy Kill it Because they're too good and indoctrination kicking in for them good Good training. Well, it's not even that is it they're confused from all the like spaces sickness And then if someone's actively trying to kill you you fight back don't you and I mean a lot of these things are trained for war They're like soldiers. They they do what they know But I do think he has rewritten how history would have gone by interfering Oh, yeah Yeah, so he's he's not only curating what has happened. He's also Designing what's happening going on with yeah, really just by mixing that Is he designing it though or is he simply influencing it? So I don't know it all depends on whether he has an idea of what he wants to happen As a direct result of him doing something It opens up some really interesting thought experiments there

You write because half the time he doesn't know what he's messing with does he He's throwing things out and he's one of these books He has no idea what his consequences are to his actions I don't know what I don't want to say what it is because it is spoil part of the book But he's thrown around things he doesn't understand has Massive consequences thousands of years later on so he really does alter the course of history But yeah most of the time he's just groping blindly in the dark for his own ends His name like just messes about the back of one else So yeah Yeah, it's not quite like elder ad where he's looking into the future and plot and scheme and and trying to make that good fate where Consequences be damned if I take this I'm taking it That's a bit more arcane because he continuously tries to rewrite what's happened to get the outcome he wants Whereas that's beyond trust in us, isn't it really yeah, yeah, it's just so Yeah Right, job to read his abilities

Transcendent possesses the formidable technological capabilities expected of an ancient neck on overlord Including a highly advanced necrodermist body extraordinary physical resilience and the ability to survive injuries that would destroy most biological beings Greatest strength however is not physical Traslin is an exceptional strategist in full traitor and manipulator who prefers preparation deception and technological superiority to straightforward combat You gave me all the big words here, aren't you? I'm rude. He possesses extensive knowledge of ancient technologies and civilizations And he has access to an extraordinary collection of neck on devices Stasis technology and captured artefacts Traslin is also unusually adept at deploying his collection during conflicts releasing preserved warriors creatures and machines when circumstances require them

His greatest ability may therefore be that she abreast the resources accumulated over millions of years Few opponents can know what traslin possesses which makes planning against him rather difficult Yeah between the technological wonders like okay So you got stasis portals you got Nano molecular things like all these different things. Oh, you also got armies from thousands of years ago Like you really can't plan or expect anything from this guy It who's planning against him. I mean that can only be an internet-crowned thing because to the outsiders I mean, I wouldn't know who he was with they unless you've been collected So yeah, because he also doesn't have like plans of like fame He's not trying to spread his name like a gaz-cal type character, you know He's just collecting taken and going Well, he likes to operate in the shadows pretty much. He sneaks in. He grabs something. He runs up for that He doesn't you know, he doesn't like to make a big deal of it. Does he? No calling card left behind

No, you want to be a doctor too call this number Yes, other necrons know They seem to know when trasons been poking around Yeah, I mean to be honest It's like anytime anything because ever gone missing across 40k in any of the law That's the the gout of jail free card. That was net trasons Yeah, I mean turn looking some of these books and you like that's where it was From other bits of law from years ago All of sudden you like there it was trasm had it all along If he ever finds 20 bucks. I was mine and I wanted that If that'll be on display in a whole new bill I'm going I'm going to say this publicly I will put a hundred pounds on the fact that one of the primark's returns because of trasm Oh, okay, okay, we got it. I'm recording There's no time with on this if you catch me in a hundred years. We'll see you then Yeah Read books Yeah, they definitely hint towards like he's got a tall man and Baroque Orper

But to actually there I could be anyone from There there is a section in the wicked and the warped that has a lot of people asking questions Interesting, okay, tell me about it Okay, I will I will say this part I will I will just say this part then trays and an orican are doing trays and an orican things So trays and looking through his list of Pokeballs to see what he can you know whip out for this particular situation And then he just says hmm seventh Praetorian Nah, I might get a little crowded Oh Isn't the second and the eleventh that are unknown No, but the but some people are saying this is a possible hint to royal door and coming back Oh, possible is the seven. Okay. Okay, so yeah, yeah, I see so he might have a primark not one of the missing two He might have dork this seventh. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay

um Well, he has all of dork except his hand. I guess Good for him. You think that upsets trays in that he's missing the hand for his wonderful doring collection. Oh, just imagine it Saying Oh, he only fixes up his models So when surprised me he just made a new part here girl doring have a hand now It'd be like dawn dawn versus yarrick who has the cooler alien invented hand Well next some of them some of them where he has pieced people back together when he's collected exhibits And they've been too damaged in battle He will he will take them apart and reassemble them to make his exhibit look right So he could have anyone's hand. So he can really yeah he can have anything Across time and space anyone doesn't matter and they can be full help. Yeah They've recently it's such a way as they can now do anything

I think it's quite a clever thing for games workshop to have done is that they they have left this thing open now Where absolutely anything could happen and he's got it Okay, I just want to draw attention to a comment in the chat here from Spooldrim Imagine dawn is in a small box with a pile of Legos living his best life Is Billy was don't don't want to leave The door's open I mean trays it doesn't want him because he's missing a hand but no dawn's just we mean he was throwing I'm throwing the test of acting back out and he's holding on to the edge like Well, it's getting to some of his relationships He does have the oracan diviner very specific relationship, but he's made some with Lots of different people although I feel like they're all kind of more one-sided where it's like You might have had a run in with

Trason and you might think you're important to him But he doesn't really care about you like even if you're in his collection like now he's got you in his collection, but like Not your buddy buddy So Trason's relationships with the galaxy is that of a curator towards an exceptionally large and poorly maintained museum He is fascinated by civilizations individuals and conflict, but barely regards him as equals Powerful figures may earn his respect amusement or curiosity yet almost anyone can eventually become a specimen if Trason desires Historically significant enough he can corroborate Coroperate with other factions when the interest temporarily align When is with his own and may even assist them for reasons that appear surprisingly generous Although there is usually a private calculation behind the gesture Trason's alliances are therefore practical rather than loyal and he to regards the most living civilizations as temporary custodians of objects that he will eventually have That belong somewhere more secure preferably soloments

Even his fellow necrons are not exempt from this philosophy to Trason the galaxy and is is an endless source of discoveries Curiosity's and hidden treasures Populated by creatures who have an unfortunate habit of believing that their possessions cultures and sometimes themselves Belong to them. He does not necessarily hate the galaxy for this on the contrary. He finds it endlessly entertaining Yeah, the world is pretty neat. Hey, you ever just go look under a rock and see what you see I'm looking cool It's cool out there man Except he wouldn't just lift up a rock. He'd be like oh what's under this tectonic plate Tecton and I'm taking the rock Yeah He does that in his in his one In his museum he has like a whole burrow of something with all the people inside it Like from some breaks like he just dug it out Like and then when he gets some exam it she's really annoyed because he's like they don't exist anymore. It's irreplaceable

Ah my whole geez Like something it's like one of those you know those ants farm so you can see it all through that But with like look at them just piecefully working in there Yeah Oh I have a meme list of like stuff that he's like stupid stuff. These collected just for memes And the and the ant farm thing is very uh Well, I'll say that for later But we can talk about uh orkin the diviner his immortal life partner as people describe their relationship Okay Trason regards orkin as an exceptionally talented exceptionally unpleasant quality whose talents are occasionally useful And whose personality provides considerable entertainment He respects orkin's abilities as a chronomancer and a diviner but has little patience for the astrologers arrogance and obsession with proving his own superiority

Their rivalry is genuine But Trason treats it almost as a recreational activity He enjoys provoking orkin stealing things orkin considers important and demonstrating that supposedly infallible predictions can still be inconvenienced by a sufficiently determined collector Trason does not necessarily hate orkin in some respects He values him precisely because orkin is one of the few beings capable of matching him intellectually Unfortunately for orkin Trason considers this an excellent reason to keep annoying him Oh They do endlessly annoy each other To the extreme like to near death annoyance not just a little like oh yeah The I'm gonna poke your push you in the door. I wasn't I know but like I'm going to put a computer virus in your brain and you're gonna have to fight it up or Oh no, I'm going to shoot some weapon that takes out your in half your head kind of thing like you barely can survive this

It's not minor minor squabbles. It's like They're both lucky to survive yet. They can't survive without each other Yeah, it's just about to ask do you think if one could actually kill the other? Do you think they would want to they don't They never take it quite that far they always hold back just a little bit Then even if they'll leave each other trapped for a few thousand years, they still Just yeah, like oh see if he's out now But I'm gonna help him but Yeah, one of the Sound to North go ahead. Go ahead. Just like my younger brother Yes, like we're just that close to killing one another but we don't quite because we kind of like him enough Yeah It's funny at times they get on really really well like Like brothers like siblings and then other times they literally cannot stand each other and they're like they're not in Speak for a few thousand years now and they're like actively hating on each other and trying to cause as much trouble as possible

And get each other arrested and like sentenced to death and whatever else and then the second Trousin wants an adventure who's like I know we're making a great companion for this They just they're like that couple you know where they come to fight and the police have to split them up And then there's restraining orders in place and all this thing and then the second it finishes They're back together and then they're like fighting and it starts all over again Man to be you deep. There's so much fun. It's just before and after the two beers So yeah, it's just fantastic. I love I love reading about them together They just they make life exciting for each other. I think it's just another way to fill the time If you can't annoy somebody endlessly what are you going to do with yourself? That's why I'm married They need to be my vows Yes Yeah, I got any limits test for my next date for my for my next dating prospect here so

You have to go in strung with the crazy and if you both survive then you know it's a good one There we go So speaking of crazy orican His thoughts are a little bit different Orican considers Trasin an intolerable thief vandal and an intellectual fraud who has somehow been permitted to survive for fall or far longer than his reasonable He regards Trasins collecting as vulgar hoarding masquerading as a scholarship and consider himself the superior intellect particularly because his mastery of divination and corona mancy gives him an understanding of events Trasin cannot possess Orican is frequently exacerbated Exasperated by Trasin's interference especially when the collector disrupts plans that orican has spent years arranging Yet beneath the hostility lies grudging recognition Orican knows that Trasin is extraordinarily intelligent resourceful and difficult to predict Their rivalry persists because neither can comfortably accept the possibility that the other might actually be his intellectual equal

One of the jokes I always heard that Trasin has a habit of like putting orican in situations where his divinations actually fail So then orican good like changes of time to prove that he was right just for Trasin to put him in another situation where oh no that's still wrong Nope gotta go back and fix it again Pretty much Yeah, it is quite funny because he really really hates him with a passion He hates him so hard and yet At one point he realizes if he dies they couldn't live without him And yet he still hates him so intensely It's like they just can't leave each other alone It's like when your kids are squabbling and you like for the love of God just don't touch him and then they've just got like a hand in their face No that's what they're like And the other now, Kranz, they even recognize this and at times

That the council and the staff will force them to be together just because they're so irritating We're trying to get one over on each other that they're like right we're just gonna put you together in this room together until you sort of tattoo Parenting 101 Yeah It's pretty bad when you're having a parent that's like 65 million years old Isn't it Had all that time if not sorted it out If you don't parent them young you'll have to parent them when they're old. That's what they say So what we're saying is Their parents left when they were babies Yeah Well more like they they genocide their own parents, I think with the old ones but Well, who knows what eat how long they even have parents for? Yeah, true Because with their short life span, I mean, I'm not sure it specifies exactly how short their lives were But I'm like I think it's quite interesting. I mean by you don't know what their standards would be for a long life

In an alien race. I mean where these people just getting into their 30s in which case they really could have lost their parents very young Yeah So it's another thing against teenage pregnancy No, no The next year you probably have to be teenage pregnancy on that oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they didn't have this in kids You got to stop with the bio transfer and that's enough bio Back in my day we were having kids when we were 10 What they probably work is they were probably dead by 30 from all that radiation poison So what does a bit of radiation poisoning do I do wonder if he knows more about it now Whether they ever learn because obviously they didn't know enough about it to fix the issues when they were actually alive So it's 65 million years later. Have they actually learned what went wrong? Yeah, let me put it word to get bodies back with they do better a second time

Yeah, yeah, could they reverse it? Did they did they advance? Technologically that much after they kind of did the bio transfer and so it kind of plateau We've pretty advanced before weren't they yeah, yeah like they already were in like a galactic civil war like they already Yeah, then they'd already got like thousands and thousands of planets that they just that they lived across Yeah, so they were obviously already pretty advanced. It's almost like once they did bio transference. They kind of gave up Yeah, yeah Yeah, when you're fighting God's been winning Yeah, when you're fighting gods and winning do you need to advance technology too much more Yeah, they weren't and then they needed a really long nap to get over it So speaking of technology We'll talk about his raisins equipment now So raisins equipment reflexes status as both netcron overlord and collector

He's got a massive mic magnifying glass Rather than relying upon a single standardized arsenal he possesses an assortment of advanced Tecron technologies personal weapons defensive system defensive systems and unusual artifacts accumulated throughout his existence His equipment is often selected according to circumstance with certain devices allowing him to capture preserve Manipulate or deploy specimens rather than simply destroy them His most distinctive technologies are those connected to his collection Particularly his ability to preserve living beings and objects for later display or use Trasins arsenal should therefore be viewed less as a conventional military loadout and more as a curator's toolkit of extremely dangerous archaeological instruments The precise weapons devices and relics in his possession can be examined individually

But collectively they demonstrate the same principle that governs the rest of the rest of Trasins existence If something is valuable enough There is probably a machine somewhere that allows Trasin to keep it And if there isn't he will go and find it Yeah, because he needs it in his collection Yeah, it's a pretty spot See, I want to give straight into mind because this one follows straight onto that So Trasin carries specialized necron technology suited to acquisition, survival and manipulation Rather than prolonged conventional combat his personal arsenal reflects his preference for securing valuable specimens with a minimum amount of unnecessary destruction I think that's right He's quite happy to destroy everything in his pursuit of collection Absolutely anything, everything he'll just collapse whole worlds and stuff He's just he couldn't care less. I mean often when he's done he's ended a world when he's taken what he wanted

Yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah Yeah, I could see like yeah, what does he really care if he has to kill a thousand people or a hundred to get that Object that's not really the calculation he's making maybe the calculation he's making is how much am I gonna lose it? I get that object not how much That's always the way isn't it he wants what he wants and he will stuff at nothing to get it And he doesn't really care about what problems he causes In the longer and does he he just goes after what he wants yeah Yeah, it's already his technically you just has to go and claim it Yes, that's like that thing when he goes running through like the black library and he's like that was mine That was mine that was mine He's like we just take these with me and you know how they feel about the black library and like not lending any of the books So yeah Yeah But then if you're infinite it isn't everything his eventually really Exactly it's only a matter of time

It's got a bunch of different cool little technology pieces um a lot of them are just like high science Mumble jumbo, but we'll go through some of that fun He's got the empathetic obliterator And this is Trayzens distinctive Necro and staff rumored to incorporate technology Originating from the old ones when it kills the victim it releases a psionic shockwave capable of Striking nearby beings of similar mind and purpose making an usually efficient solution to trouble some crowds Mind shackles care robes they're pretty cool. We've mentioned that in this episode Yeah, yeah, they like that the ultimate like uh if you want to collect uh Tao but you actually a necro play at heart toss some mines shackles scarves on the back of them now. They got some towel army um Necro germus we know it we love it Tesseract labyrinths They are dimensional prisons capable of containing objects and living beings with compressed within a compressed pocket of space

Trayzens uses them extensively to preserve specimens and can release captured warriors into battle when circumstances make doing so sufficiently entertaining Uh, and then also stasis technology in fields uh, he employs that kind of tech To preserve individuals objects historical scenes without allowing time to continue its usual inconvenient process up to k He can also use stasis field defensively to immobilize enemies But rather than destroy potentially valuable specimens Yeah cool see a lot of these things seem to be just his Like when you read about other necrons They don't seem to have all of these technologies available some or maybe they do when they just never think to use them But they they're on a day stay basis. There aren't other people throwing out like mind shackles scarves and things He's got a pocket full of the things and he's forever using them to good effects But I haven't really come across a lot of stuff like that in other books about other necrons

Or even these like the way he stores everything can his little Tesseract things That he just doesn't seem to be a thing other necrons do I mean he seems to develop to set of things Just for his collecting And maybe no one else just bothers to use them. I don't know I think you're right. He probably developed them like I I need to Capture and maintain stuff. So maybe yeah, he comes up with his own ways of doing it for sure I mean it does have stuff to to research or stuff doesn't he really? I mean he has all the people that remain maintain all these things and stuff and like the necrons are already high tech So it's like okay, so we already do have space this technology We're just not using it for this if I do this one slight tweak now. I can use it for this more easily Yeah, I guess there's two worlds are over enough stasis pods and things aren't they But he's in a very different way Yeah, it sounds like he just Sorry No, you get I was just saying it sounds like he does repurpose a lot of like

already present necrons tech for his own uses so You think a lot of the other necrons would benefit if they just have like another army in their pocket They could just throw out in a situation Although maybe that's not honorable enough for most of them You know, it doesn't follow the rules to engagement quite right and he'd yeah, it's it's it's messy too Yeah, you know, it's the lot of necrons. I don't think like the messiness of it or the chaoticness of it We're treason. I think likes a little bit of that. I think he is chaos He is Everything he touches just becomes insanely crazy Yeah Cool, well, let's carry on with technologies. He's got some bigger items in his personal catalog Trason rarely relies upon conventional troops alone instead maintain forces and technology specifically suited to protect himself and acquiring new additions to his collection His personal resources allow him to treat and ex and expedition less like a military campaign and more like an archaeological field trip where the archaeology occasionally she's back

I love that little audition right thanks Uh, so we have that acquisition fail-inx that acquisition fail-inx is treason's personal formation for particularly dangerous acquisitions and consists of treason Accompanied by five squads of his lich guard bodyguards They're interlocking dispersion shields can generate a protective barrier around the formation allowing treason to approach valuable prizes while considerably reducing the risk of becoming one himself and This and then he has surrogate bodies which also kind of lends lends itself to the the infinite title Trason possesses technology that allows his consciousness to transfer into prepared necronged bodies when his When his current body is destroyed These surrogate hosts allow him to survive assassination attempts and have made killing treason and activity plagued by an irritating lack of Permanence one of the jokes at the very beginning of infinite the divine as he's raiding and

Made elder maiden world and he's going against a bunch of exabytes and then you think he's about the diet in the first chapter And he just and he's just looking at what's like the the dinosaur that's going to kill him. He goes oh damn Crunch and then he wakes up and in a new body That's the one with the great quote isn't it where he's like I don't particularly enjoy dying Hey, like anybody does He does he has all these horrible memories of all the ways he's died If he's lucky he cuts out just before he does But if not he has to live through it before we jumps off to another body Which is quite funny I mean, it's quite interesting that he can do that that he can jump between bodies That's not a thing the other netcrons do. I mean The technology somewhat must be there for them all because obviously they translate them all across to be Put back in new bodies and fix the things that they can collect them all up into central like memory banks And he's obviously managed to do that in such a way as he can take his memory jumping

And just shove it somewhere else where he then overalls another body Which brings up an interesting thing when you say about the overlords having a better body And how he has more technology and stuff in that whenever he takes over another body He remakes it into his form into his shape So just that mean all netcrons would have been capable of having these good things But they don't it must be to do with the programming rather than the actual physical body Because if he can just make that appear in anybody why can't they I would I would definitely agree with that Yeah, I would definitely agree with that Because some of the other netcrons when you read like the twice dead king and things They're like the the lords there the overlords there actually have different components Put in their body which can be removed to make them more basic So they can have bits cut out of them And you like but so that's different from trazin I mean if he can make his this his body with the same no matter where he is

I think that's a bit of a I don't know where the codex information sits on that because that's two different authors And that's two very different approaches to how the overlords are better than the average netcrime So does does that open up the option that over the years and things degrading That there's potentially some programming interference that was instilled At the offing and actually in trazin's Situation it's that programming. It's that manipulation that's degraded not His personality is well, they do have personalities. There's no getting away from that Yeah, his personality and his mental faculties haven't degraded But instead the limitations have So there is that possibility as you say that a lot of this is psychosomatic and therefore it's the limitations that been programmed in or placed on the mental state of the

Lower ranking netcrimes that is preventing them from being 100 millions of trazans What we need is an actual by like Dissection of a Necron to have a look and see how the insides of one neck on his different to another one And it also fits in that whole thing with like the the players and the destroyers in that the players actually Grow into a different shape as they succumb to the virus as such like their fingers get longer They get taller they get spinly they totally change shape to become more deadly Yet a destroyer actually like wax new bits on their body don't know they attach new bits They take bits from other necrons and other machines and put it onto themselves and be like I'm gonna have Six guns instead of legs or something So how does that reflect back to the fact he can jump into any body and make it his own could he still jump into a flare and take it over or a destroyer or because

They can't be made because they're being too corrupted to be sent back to the main processing system does that mean he couldn't jump into their bodies anymore What are the limitations of his powers? Yeah, you can still have the question every day, can't you? Yeah, I do like that thought of like yeah, you know you never want to have something that you can't kill or it's all powerful That does not make for good stories. So then yeah, there has to be limits on that for sure Like just like when like we had the whole you need and they can just resurrect Eldar from the yet from the dead like Yeah, there needs to be a cost just like the dark elder and the humunculus like there needs to be some cost there um Or some price or like some limit We'll find it out with all the only way to do it is let's find treason kill a bunch of times and see what works Well the thing is he does he does lose memories Because they have this whole thing every time their their mind is sent somewhere else

He has the same problem as when they're they're saving and remaking just necromanaries in that sometimes He doesn't manage to send all of himself before the other body is destroyed And therefore he loses bits of his mind and bits of his memories He'll be like he's noted in some of the books are saying I will he lost this period of time there might be 200 years he's forgotten because that part of him didn't survive the jump Crazy yeah, I hope he wrote it down somewhere I guess He's not really one for writing If only at this library to keep track of everything and next that's the thing is book He's assistant writes everything down because he's lost the ability to remember things So he hasn't physically write it down Yeah Can I also just point out earlier we were saying that necromancer a recent update on models That's two additions ago now and now I feel really old Yeah, I know I always use like eight position is kind of like a work and that was like a decade ago

Let's talk about it like it was yesterday. It still hurts Wasn't there another update like shortly after eight addition though like that was when the new orican model had come out and the new In the tech model or was that or is my sense of time just all kinds of screw you up right now We've all been in the great slumber too long Yeah, we're running um Yeah, I don't know. Hey, there's a lot of technology. There's a lot of stuff still in this episode Maybe we just jumped to the good stuff though um, so we're not here for all time We should get into his collection and we could read through that Yeah, I think we get the drift he's got crazy technology I get it he could make new technology he's got it So Trasins collection the infinite process Possesses an enormous variety of items in his collection the following represent a select example of what can be found in Trasins collection of historical individuals and artifacts and Solomon So we'll start with the prismatic galleries and these are some of the most prized possessions of Trasin and

Consisting of holographic events recapturing events from history deemed worthy of preservation These galleries are not populated by mere sculpture, but by conscious living beings transmuted into holographs themselves um So that's fun. They're transmuted into holograph so it's like they he had the real being and then Kran went to a computer and I'm pretty sure the real beings probably dead now in just the holograph forms of lives I I bet he's got him stored He'll have him stored on his face is somewhere else like maybe they weren't maybe they weren't good enough quality to go and display some of his things are pretty damaged when he picks them up Maybe he just have has bolts somewhere else Yeah, you know, it's not gonna get rid of the original. He's a collector, but I need that corpse Exactly Yeah They're not quite gone, but obviously he can't save them all himself

This is obviously a good Plus I mean from the trouble he has when he has like whole tyranny like splinter fleets there and then they get loose You think why does he even bother? Like the damage they do the orcs getting out all these things you see real specimens that I would just pack them all up in their boxes and just have the holograms for everything Yeah, but isn't that part of the thrill? It certainly is for him Yeah, but we would run all very different art museum galleries, you know, give the chance if only give the chance we would So You isn't it yeah, oh, could you imagine how clean our minis would be if we all had cleaning armies I So in his prismatic galleries Yeah Sorry, okay in the galleries he has the last high council of Adra here craft world cool and exhibit showcasing the massacres on Targus

um, there is a link on You know, let's account him you could go through and some of these are kind of named events and important and stuff if you really want to click through if one catches your mind um But a lot of them are kind of just made specifically for this Uh a war band of orcs attacking the unknown blue-cheld invertebrate xenospicies The catacombs of kath during the underground war and exhibit labeled doom writers folly Um, that's a fun one like what did happen to doom writer. I guess uh Trayson knows he ain't telling Uh an exhibit labeled the death of Lord solar macarious in which one tenth composed of imperial guardsmen who are 300 years from the wrong time period An exhibit labeled the last stand of ursar creed Uh, creed was later employed by Trayson against the forces of pesad pesad mudundis When they invaded soloments and exhibit labeled the last questions of historicus

austaland veris An exhibit labeled the sword both stolen and sought Like that one maybe is like a crone sword or something from the eldar galleries maybe An exhibit labeled the imperial heroes of the tyranic wars and exhibit labeled the beheading of Goge van dieger and exhibit labeled the war in the museum he took uh Samples of the war in his own museum and put them into the museum catalog An exhibit labeled angeles which includes gorkam gorkam orca the rocket ship mechtown and several orcs cool The cherry on the top of that or in the museum exhibit is a hive tyrant in like a flailing position and he has that labeled as orc in the diviner Because right at the very end of that struggle orc and actually tried to overtake a hive tyrant To get to get one up on treason

But he immediately just like zapped himself out of it because apparently he could not comprehend the hive mind and its entirety at all for it Petty points scoring. I love it. It is old museum that only he'll see. Yeah perfect But treason also has a hall of statues He has a statue of an unspecified primark large and made of rock creed which treason states is the only contemporary statue to survive an unspecified purge It was destroyed during the demon invasion uh Pestimititis while that's that's a word Yeah, he has a sandstone sculpture from the serenade From serenade depicting an adeptus or a starrys librarian with a skull face segmented to the hood and a fish tailed Bish tailheaded staff and he also has a building-sized statue of lord solar macarius That's fun. I mean it sounds like fantastic garden decoration to me

So With all of this stuff, of course, you need an entire gallery dedicated to the war in heaven In which there is a display of an alder ildari midleap rathbone dance slipper barely touching its plinth Which is quite a cool moment you just Just second before they take off A display of a hulking cork the croak mountainous shoulders slick with battle sweat I'm curious as to how that's different to any other sweat Uh All i know all i can think of now is tropic thunder The energy drink i can see now Gerald Immediately knows what i'm talking about Yep So i will try and can it for you and send you both a can uh A display of a canonite warrior in green armor crouch low with it with its chainsawed out

In a striking position a display of a jacquero maintenance slave A display of plain dummies wearing the resplendent armor of the ancient Necrontaire worn during the flesh times over 65 million years ago placed across from the aforementioned displays in this gallery power plants of unknown manufacture Manned diadems worn by the ferrons of antiquity An eldari skimmer in the colors of a vanished clan One of the most prominent exhibitions in this gallery is a stasis display of a great metal conqueror worm floating within These were ceded on planets the necront fleet bypassed to hunt their population to extinction And Nice let's chuck a worm on that planet and leave it be Yeah, well very efficient isn't it on the way past

Yeah I mean just imagine how hard it just kind of brings it into reality like He's working hard to collect this stuff Now how difficult must it have been to have found the armor of the ancient necrontaire From 65 million years ago. I guess he's had it for 65 million years Yeah, because that's sort of glad I've got now the old necrontaire gallery full of mournful curiosities with scrolls and long tarpipes once make the pleasure The only dress in this old cane from his biological life The cane is made of hardwood and inlaid with ivory in the head of the cany shape like an old hook-feat god of wisdom So he's held on to these things for like 65 million years. That's me. I mean that's his original cane I mean he's looking at him burning. They didn't go to the first within really Dracking man. Well, this is it. It makes me think hang on what are the chances that

Obviously they all go off at that they get burned and it is what it is they have the big sleep What are the chances of this stuff not being messed with Like to an extent I can see you share his his cane, but he was a clerk So he's not going to be having armor lying around So he's found that armor from someone else and it sounds like there's a few sets of it So to have gone out and found that armor After that period of time that's pretty cool Well, you think did he come back out of the the furnaces when he was in his new metal body And it's be like well no one wants any of this stuff anymore. So that's mine. That's mine. That's mine. Like black musk-collect Did he immediately have a new obsession the second he had furnaces? I mean we'll need to go back a few hundred years later and he was lucky there was a few clay pots still lying around and broken I mean he's obviously kept them since then. I mean that kind of thing hasn't survived millions of years on its own

No, yeah, I mean to put it into context The dinosaurs were 65 million years ago and they're fossilized No, yeah, so he's still got clay pipe I'm quite interested that his cane had like ivory on it as well. Mm-hmm. That's very humor Yeah, yeah, what did the ivory come from? Space elephants He He also has the first contact exhibit There's a primitive human spacecraft of rudimentary make with a golden disc affixed to its side said golden information disc contains humans repeating the same word in various languages A speech a wobbling nonsense song about being good So he's got the voyager pro Yeah, it's amusing when they drag stuff like that and it's just to make sure you know that this is our future This is your future your sons of bitches

Do I do like that? Like the emperor is said to have some of these kind of relics to like he has the Mars Lunar Rover It's one of his relics. So that's always fun Yeah Some other cure obviously he has we have a whole list of this stuff. This is fantastic He has a satan shard that Trason is called the source of his power and the crown jewel of his collection He has a fabled rathbone choir of al-tenzar Uh, el-dar fans help me out on that one. He has the preserved head of Sebastian Thor An ossified husk of an enslaver A giant man wearing baroque power armor whose face is contorted in a permanent screen Okay Nice So quite the collection Okay, can can can could I just point out the permanent screen

Mm-hmm That's very night-law, isn't it? Well, no, I'm thinking of the paint gauntlet Ah The door and okay I'm going back there. I can hold out right. I can hold out. You can I won't be happy about it But you can and when he comes back he's when he comes back. He's not going to the Imperial Fist. He's coming to the black temples Okay, now I'm happy about it. No, yeah Here we go What else is got? So he has an adeptus custodies that in itself is impressive Just to have a custodies in your collection Uh a rath baroqueo system populated with said life form exhibit location dormwood sector gallery Yeah, I'm not going to read all of that That's the one that's like the hand Yeah Um Brother Cassiel of the blood angels seconded to the death watch his face was frozen in a moment of fear

So it's going back he's collecting moments It's not just necessarily the things or the people Uh a display of dusk raiders destroyed by tyranny to splinter fleet released by oracan Raven god and salamanders battling on is to van five Hmm Nice Doesn't happen and am I I'm maybe completely wrong Doesn't Tres in have something with the salamanders. There's a bit of beef Yeah, he's been trying to steal like the seven relics that falcon left for his sons But specifically like the spear falcon Okay, that's just justified my excuse for making a netcron army because my mate plays salam at play salamanders I just annoy him Oh, yeah So really they should just hand over because it's an evidence for these going to have it one day So what else has got is got the carnaq world spirit shrine

Akabarius war cat charm in regiments The temporal device containing the tyranid invasion of boros Which was sparked by treason himself Of course Horace heresy era ultra marines Uh the voice story. I can't say these first born regiments Yeah, it's all just a bunch of made up nonsense, you know by some nerds The destroying firstborn It's because I just do like book learning I'm like because I don't I haven't played many battles I'm like people like if you bathen you would discuss all this when you out out and then you probably couldn't spell it Whereas I only read it in the books or talk about it endlessly with people in law. So I'm like when it comes to I'm like I'm always on google. How do you pronounce? All I can say is when I first attempted to read Harry Potter I genuinely thought one of the characters was called Hermi one

Other things he has is lost tanneth regiments Uh, so they're not the first and normally anymore. So that's shitty for their moniker No, that's lonely Yeah, there we go. Fuck Salamand is the thought lost during the colvarian disaster inquisitor gray facts and her retinue um man that model Oh, it escaped that model But it didn't last long it seemed the bell of saint Christal the post disposed of after causing irreparable damage to his forces and collection and a 12-foot tall quark in power armor more advanced than of sardis power armor Nice Some other some of the things is a damage but still functioning webway portal a troop of harlequins and to bring up lord captain loomey's comment about fabbis bile he has a massive stock of uncorrupted impure's children jeede seed which he traded to fabbis bile for Next point a perfect clone of primark phulgram as well as flavvy flavius alkennex and his warriors and a bride of the emperor

Nice Perfect clone of phulgram. Yeah, yeah, that's like some doing Tixels are not doing yeah does that make him as perfect or more perfect or less perfect Yeah, and like when you clone them do you get all his personalities or just one Does he wave from the bathing does he using the human like a full adult body but he's actually got the mind of a toddler Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got that's just phulgram anyway So just to carry on the list he's got a force of sisters of battle a mechanic has megos A force of dusk raiders destroyed after oric and the diviner freed a cronos splinter fleet that was in tracings collection An antique tread knoth which apparently is all of them because they've just been legended uh Deep good. Yeah, yeah um and I did note that half of the aircraft we spoke about in the imperial armories episode

also gone uh and Astrarium mysterious sounds like a wrestler Yeah That's from one of the books So you can learn a lot more about that one Cool, that's got a link Right So I say he's also got a cronos tyrannid hive tyrant that hive tyrant causes a lot of trouble That's quite a fun one. They're all going no don't keep the hive tyrant pretty much alive He's like I can contain anything and then Whoops, it's got a break Uh, what are you talking about that was sent to negotiate with traveling I love that idea that they tried to negotiate with him and he just kept them It's like one typical action isn't it like a post-part negotiations went a little longer than expected a few million years. Yeah, still one Negotiations at least went better than with the jacari so Yeah He's got a destroyer lord who attempted to scare an entire planet on its own

Um a large tabloom of oak warriors in midcoma he does seem to have a lot of orcs Um, I shard of the disease a deceiver, can't I say same Uh, he's also got the ultimate primaric lieutenant marcus castus via the sanctum stronghold He's got a bloody angel terminator raffelio um, he's got a death guard plague champion Roof Refugilius grew Uh, he's also got Sazer Sarsakans dynasty royal warden technau Yes, see these are all not words like they're all just somebody put some way to let a cat play with the keyboard for a bit I don't know what they got up to but It's also got the chalice of entropy So so you know there's that theoretical thing of if you put a hundred chimps in a room with tight wraps How long would it take for them to make shakes but this is about 50 years in Okay They can progress for not a masterpiece They just made up fake Egyptian names

Yeah, that's what it is, isn't it? Like before like they ran a name generators were any good like 20 years ago. They were using it I bet they had a little like a pinwheel thing You just turn it and it just highlights different letters That's what it was I'd be liking the back of some of the books and the codex things where you you can like throw your dice and there's just charts of various names Maybe they had a past of names to like line them up like oh the first letter is gonna be If you completely ran some they'd be like we can't even pronounce that they'd be like I don't care They look good though like you said when you're not saying about land you're just looking at them tight but Speaking of fake Egyptian names he also has the Necron overlords Saravak Who not even his own not even his own kind is safe No He's got it He's got a thunder warrior a splinter fleet of high of hive splidd

Sorry words a splinter fleet of high fleet chronos which Becomes part of the war in the museum stuff a long Eldore bone sword repeatedly carved from the finger of a god a fable chrome sword So uh oh Eldore elder aren't gonna be able to kill slenish anytime soon with that Yeah a war of the thumbs gallery a bloody sectarian conflict of imperial fanatics fought over how thumbs should be placed when making the sign of the Aquila Inner out boys Ladies much way they are so patty just so patty in the Imperium Just oh my god Every little thing is there The thing is you say that but it's wars like that that create the death core of creak so I'm down Real like real life wars have been fought over less Yeah, let that sink in yeah It's just Um just like a lot I mean I mean we say about petty point scoring as well between um

Tray's and then or again I'd just like to point out historically the Duke of Wellington went out of his way to sleep with one of Napoleon Bonaparte's mistresses Nice I would too I would let I would let that sink in the Duke of Wellington Just to score points against arguably the scariest man on the planet at the time slept with his favorite mistress Anyway Moussey Mous Absolutely Now this tablo I would love to see as a piece of art the siege of Mordia Tablo to picture line of troopers on the steps of Mordian's governor's palace eliminators eliminating foes with sustained folly fire freed from stasis during the invasion of Pesto Mude Mude de Muda deis That word A collection of 700 orcs from war Grimskull freed from stasis during the invasion of the same

An aldari Bonesing irsing the last note to finish her masterwork and exquisite rathbone helmet freed from stasis And a group of hernkin pioneers Alongside their grave bikes Free from stasis Yeah So you go a model of the silent king's palace complex alongside hunting chariot Did you thought that that must be the least impressive part of his collection That is just a model of it like he hasn't actually got the palace complex That is surely nothing to him No this is a scale replica Yeah, I spent a lot of money on it So my local castle has a museum in it and it's got a model of the castle In which the model is placed Yeah Just ridiculous that one I just know that for his collection um all those things he's got Actual living people know he has a model of it

I mean you probably couldn't go around stealing the silent king's palace But still At least He's got arms and armor of the war in heaven That's quite an interesting one You're like what was actually preserved from the war in heaven I want a book on the war in heaven It's not like I think they have a play about it don't they But seriously I'm like we need more details on this I always pictured like taking these guys and then doing like some kit vashes Like give them some shuriken catapults take some a os elves where they look so regal and formal and like Yeah, I think they'd make good war in heaven L.Dar Yeah, so you've got Baroness as asa Nya and her ex-dites Um a number of talon desert-right evaders and their horses and loves the fact they still have horses um Sent in christation like alien with an orange shell claws and smooth legs

So is he out there like that He has an alien trap And I like when he's like I don't know what the fuck you are but I'm taking you Yes, no name for it Yes, like being a kid on the beach just picking up the shiny thing I don't know what you are but I'm taking you home It's like some always a snake that you know just sharpen their short pocket But how does he name everything just everything have a netcrown name or like Like when he has the the humans around and he has the the human uh woman like help him identify things Then they're labored in like gothic, don't they like the human language So when he has no idea what that crab thing is Does he have to track down some culture that did know what it was Or does he just make up a name for it or is it just forever unnamed Yeah, I think you'd probably want to hunt down and figure it out. What is this little thing It's so magical and beautiful it whispers to be when I sleep

Yeah, you find these collection. That's just how it grows isn't it like I've had this What it is now we need to collect a person you can tell me what the crab is and if they do it speak my language I need to collect a person like learn from to learn who this alien is So slightly we had real life tangent here So one of my hobbies for sometime was collecting world or two memorabilia Military and doing world or two living history my grandfather was fantastic at car boot sales He would find the most obscure objects Had a feeling about them being world or two or something And then he would go on this these massive deep dives doing the Researching what it was and it would turn out to be like Three of them made in the world or known to exist 1999 and It just smacked of that he would pick things up just because they seemed interesting So we can research them and I guarantee that's what raisins doing Yeah

Let's turn down to just be a belt buckle Is what it is sometimes when you're hunting yeah Yeah He's also got a number of Katie and eighth in their command A number of steel Legion Think that fought on the yark a number of foul halon a number of patorian He's got all the minis you can collect. He's one of those guys. He's got every official regimen model He's got morty and he's got ventrilla nobles Ventrillion nobles and the vestorian firstborn. So he's got a whole bunch of things and you know We said in this episode so before honestly he had he can have anything he can pull anything out of this gallery And it's gonna be okay and more friendly Um, and it'd be cool to make some lors as this is the starting point like You want to be an ultramarine horse heresy company Escape from trazen's fault now you've got the good starting origins of a new chapter or something But you can still have like roots or whatever That's pretty that's pretty good and then of course like if you want to create a meme list of like stupid shit that he then he has to

But not I have a list pulled up. Yeah, we have the lors Crabbs the elder sex toy the birth slanesh Waldo His original net his original neckrom body. That's a good one The last fallen dark angel just so he controlled the fly and L Johnson and the dark angels Yeah An orc rock an orc rocket that is fully fueled for absolutely no reason All the toilet paper that disappeared during covid A fully stocked super elaborate and probably expensive wine cellar avidons missing arms All the expansions of the cursed city RPG omega Um carbon sandy ego Uh, let's see here uh Oh a complete meme collection of humanity If you a complete meme collection from 2000 to 2000 to 2020 Oh jealous. Yeah

Oh man the original fidget spinner Archimland's personal memo But excuse me and uh What else is he have here. That's a good one um Oh, I can't say that one out loud never mind. Okay. That's enough In the fair and ever today I'm gonna add one in there The geodron from every war hammer tournament Oh That's not there The entirety of GW's miniature catalog You know when they look like suddenly these rare elusive models reappear Like ones that were already ever designed and they're actually put into product made to praise yeah Yeah, it's traze it actually releasing them Traze I don't think he'd want to share those are his things

Yeah, but he might be more interested in what happens Perhaps something changes and he wants that he wants the news Yeah, there's a difference between showing off and what in the share so No, I think he's very much that's mine kind of person like he's just going like mine mine Mine and it never be seen again. He'd put it on eBay Let it run until like the last minute it's gone up to thousands and then just cancel it Oh I'm sorry I have it and none of you do Yeah, well, I like this character very cool I am excited to listen to his audiobooks Gerald you did a great voice and I'm sure the audio book Voice is very similar to that kind of you can just picture this type of character great job Do you guys have any colleagues thoughts about him go around the table? fishy I can relate to him somewhat I mean You might see that I have a slight collection of diction so I can kind of relate

I however, I will just classify clarify I do not have people wrapped up in Your hamla legal appreciates that classification You won't move them welcome That mean yeah fish it took the words right on my mouth he is Trasins basically my 40k spirit animal as Evident by my collection here what you don't see is the all the miniatures that take a path of my master closet So there you go. Yeah, those are the ones that don't fit hidden away Mm-hmm. Yes, and two and a girl and he thoughts on Trasin I think he is one of the most interesting characters and I hope Robert Rath continues writing more books Where he can drag or I can along on another adventure if there are no more books I'd be really disappointed because no more heresy books just 50 or a can and Such a different approach to most of the wall hammer black library books

It's actually enjoyable to read like lighthearted happiness like it's funny There are a lot of very good stories in the black library But a lot of them are very grim and very hard going and and they can be depressing reads some of them They can be so sad everyone dies all at the time Whereas these books were actually a lot lighter and very enjoyable and a lot more fun adventure And I think there's a place for everything and I hope you do more of them Yeah, what a very nice palette cleanser from the grim dark for sure, you know You can get a little bit of that with orcs as well, but it's nice that we have this other outlet too of this quirky character And the grim darkness I guess you still can have a good time Oh, it's still grim dark, but he's having a great time while she's doing Yeah Very cool. Well, thanks everyone this episode went long totally worth it Thanks to everyone for joining and listening support the show on patreon all that kind of stuff

Gerald fishy you're always here so adios, but tyranny and girl. Thank you so much for joining us You want to shout out your stuff? I have nothing to shout out, but I had lots of fun Yeah, well perfect Cool, well, we'll see you guys all on the next episode. I think the next one is a two-year one. So see you then adios You
