The Waceya Metis Society says it wants to distance itself from Madison Fleischer’s claims of Metis identity. The Waceya says it met with Fleischer over the weekend and is disappointed she could not provide any evidence to support her heritage. Fleischer now says she’s collecting the necessary documentation for application through the BC Metis Nation.
