Using Loaded Language for Good on Your Team - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast
About this episode
Have you ever examined the words you use? Language matters, especially when you’re in a leadership position.
Loaded language is commonly used in newscasts, headlines, and videos because it triggers a response in many people. If you use loaded language like “greedy” or “struggling with” or “having a meltdown” think about ways you can soften your messages and make them more positive.
Loaded language in and of itself isn’t necessarily bad – it’s intended to be persuasive. Examine the words you use and work to eliminate the ones with strong negative connotations.
When you load up on positive messaging in your life, people respond to you more positively.
