3:01who advanced by beating Canada in the quarters, faced the Dominican Republic. And Paul Schienz was on the mound for the Americans. Really powerful lineup the Dominicans have Fernando Tatees. They've got Soto. They've got Julio Rodriguez. Just a powerful lineup. And the Dominicans got a lead from Caminero. Caminero hit a home run. He's a stud. But the Americans got a couple home runs too from Gunner Henderson and then Robert Anthony. Roman Anthony hit the game winning home run to put them up to one. And then there was just a lot of just emotions and tension throughout the game. I thought it was awesome. The Americans ended up winning the game two to one so they'll advance to the World Baseball Classic Final where they're going to face either Italy who upset Japan, right? Italy upset Japan.

4:03No, Venezuela beat Japan. Sorry, Venezuela beat Japan, but Italy is advanced. They beat Puerto Rico. I mean, they're all American, Italian, American players because nobody plays baseball in Italy. But Italy is in the semi-finals. Yeah, they got a bunch of ML beers. I just saw the highlights of the last inning. But there was some controversy because of the Mesa Miller's slider that he was throwing. And by the way, he throwed about 110. So the Dominicans had a man on third with two out. Right. And the sliders definitely looked low. So it always called out on one where he argued. And then I can't remember who the final battle was for the Dominican. But those pitches did look out of the strike zone to me. I thought there were just amazing plays. Like Aaron Judge throughout this is amazing statistics. So he's throwing out two runners trying to go first, the third in the World Baseball Classic. And all of last season in the major leagues, he did it once.

5:03But he's done it twice. He also was robbed of a potential home run by Julio Rodriguez who went over the fence to snag Aaron Judge's potential home run. Yeah, that was. Um, schemes that allowed that one run, um, I can't remember which pitcher was in the 7th inning. But look, the, the Dominicans had runners on base a couple times, you know, first and third, second and third. And the American pitchers just came up big. Yeah. Jack's Bednar Whitlock Miller. Bednar, that guy delivered. Yeah, they didn't have the ABS system, which definitely was controversial. And played into the end of the game. I mean, it played in big time. It certainly did. I mean, I thought they were pretty egregious. Mrs. I mean, you see it happen all the time, you know, in a regular season baseball game, but with so much riding on the line, does feel a little unfair, you'd be honest. I'm glad that the Americans took it home last night.

6:05I mean, the Dominicans are a great team. But a lot was made over the weekend about how Americans don't have fun playing baseball, like the Latin teams do. We're not dancing. We're not playing music. We're not celebrating. We're not even hyping each other up. And like American baseball has this kind of like been there, done that before. Don't celebrate too early. Right. I mean, we'll pimp our home runs. But it's totally different vibes between the teams. That's one of the great things about this world baseball classic is that like you have the Latin teams that are celebrating the pre-games, drums and everything. You have the Japanese team, which is very methodical. Yeah. And then you have them there. Because it goes beyond baseball, though. It is cultural. It's cultural, that's what makes this this tournament so awesome. It's electric. It is absolutely electric. Well, the crowd there was, I mean, it looked like it looked like an away game for the United States. Yeah, oh, yeah, it's heavy Dominican. So, yeah, so Venezuela will play Italy tonight at eight o'clock because in the winter, we'll play in the States. But now we're the pro-Venezuel favorite. Yeah, Venezuela is led by it. But I mean, they got Acunia.

7:05Yeah, I mean, anybody can be anybody. And you won't be able to pitch screens. He just pitched. He is, he is super impressive. I mean, we all know that he had a couple of batters yesterday, which was a little surprising. Yeah, yeah, I watched four innings. I just, what do you pitch for in a third or something? I don't know if you pitch for more than that. I think for in a third. But it is, he's just so physically imposing. If you don't see him, you know, every fifth day. Oh, he's a big dude. He's a Dominican pitcher by it. The Dominican pitcher, the starting pitcher. He's a pretty big dude to you. I mean, you're throwing 99. 100 consistent. Yeah, 100. And then, you know, if he had like an off-speed pitch, it was 97. Right. He was throwing straight gas. Yeah, but you can really tell that how much work these guys have to do to get ready. That's why it is kind of interesting about how like, school bull wouldn't pitch in this tournament. Because Severino, you could see 60 pitches in in the fourth inning. He was cast. He was cast out. Yeah. Their body just isn't built up for it yet.

8:05And also, I think the emotional investment of these guys. Maybe they should do what they... Because when they would get a strikeout in the regular season, or you just don't see the emotions, these guys get a strikeout at the end of the second inning and they're so fired up. Maybe they should do what the NHL guys do and just have a two week break or something and play it. Or play in the middle of the summer. Yeah, I mean, at least then, you'll have guys at full strength. I mean, I like that. Guys get hurt. Things can happen. People have, people have pitched that before. Yeah. Where they're kind of in midseason. You're in more form, yeah. The only problem is, I mean, the World Series is going to be played in December. Yeah, yeah. The other thing about it is it's single elimination work. It's why March Madness is so great, right? We were talking about the brackets earlier. Single elimination changes the game. Yeah. Where it may just like baseball, look, the World Series is great. Playoffs are great. But if you have Best of Seven, it's not the end of the world when you lose the game. Here, it's one and you're done.

9:06I guess I like it. I thought it was awesome. I just don't know if the best team won or not. What are they doing? Every three years or every four years? Every four. The next one's in 28, right? The great atmosphere of the baseball tournament, almost like soccer tournament feel, you know, with the crowd and everything. I remember taking my daughter to Olympic soccer at RFK. And it was so exciting from all kinds of countries and stuff. Great feel and just good baseball tournament for pretty season. This early end, these guys are, they're doing okay, given that they've got a way to go to get ready. Now, this was played in Miami at Lone Depot Park. And yeah, it was heavily populated by the Republicans. No, no bull names. I guess you mentioned the one picture that just said, yeah, I don't want to do it.

10:07I don't want to do it. Like big stars. Well, a lot of the stars aren't able to play because they're insurance. Okay, but were there any that were like kind of like the front back of the day or something? It's like, yeah, my bot too much wear and tear on my body. I want to save myself for regular season or whatever. No, I don't think so. But some of the big stars were not like, I'll two of a can't play in this. They like crews couldn't play in it because they're previous, they missed too many games last year. I think and their insurance won't cover it. I thought it's awesome. You know, it's almost like an all-star game like in particular of that game. With the star power, like I mentioned, Dominican's got Tate, Soto, Guerrero, Machado. And then the Americans, you know, Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge. Wit. Yeah. Yeah, it's incredible guys. All the famous. So the so Italy will play Venezuela tonight and then when is the finals the Tuesday? The Tuesday is the final, okay. Yeah, that'll be fun. So who will likely be our starter then if screens can't go? That's a good question.

11:09Good Rodgers. Where'd Rodgers go? I saw they did evaded Kershaw. I might be Logan Webb. Yeah, okay. Yeah, because Rodgers pitch pitch last night, okay. Kershaw, I guess, did the weird bit. We talked about it last week where he retired. But then he suddenly made himself available for this although they never used him. And then they took it. They didn't pitch it all. No, and then they took his roster spot and they named another pitcher. Oh, the way, I think DeRose, I got a lot of criticism as the manager because he didn't know. He pulled the runner very, and he didn't know that they could have been eliminated. Yeah, yeah. If it didn't work out. I really like him though. It's not one of the things. I think he deserves credit here because he started Gunner Henderson at third base instead of Braggman who had been cold and Gunner Henderson delivered with a home run. He had a bomb, yeah. Who was playing second? Terang, that's Tress Ways, brother-in-law. He made an unbelievable plan. This isn't a first inning. Just perfect. Yeah, he's a stud. Yeah. Really good player.
