US plays Belgium after Balogun’s suspension is overturned
About this episode
After the US men’s national soccer team controversy over Folarin Balogun’s suspension, every side had reason to protest what happened. There is something intrinsic in human nature that wants the world to be fair when we think we lose unfairly—but we don’t feel the same indignation when we win. This points us back to the five words in the Declaration of Independence that changed history: “all men are created equal.” Yet only when Jesus gives us a “new heart” can we love each other as he loves us, embracing the equality of all people and healing the racial, social, economic, and political divisions that threaten our future.
