During the City Commission meeting on December 13, the City Commission voted unanimously to appoint District 2 Commissioner Morey Wright as the vice mayor. This appointment marks a pivotal step in Wright’s political career, which began with his election into the City Commission in November 2022. His leadership skills were acknowledged through his role as Chair of the Auditor Selection Committee. Wright is an alumnus of the University of Florida, holding a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Furthering his education, he acquired two master’s degrees in business and government from Johns Hopkins University. Professionally, Wright holds an executive position at a South Florida-based e-commerce company and owns a small business specializing in digital technology and marketing consultancy.
