July 15, 1978...Native Americans concluded a 6 month long, 2800 mile walk from Alcatraz Island in California to Washington DC. The walk was in protest of 11 pieces of legislation brought before US Congress that would limited, erase, or otherwise alter the protections and laws in place for Native Americans.
