世界壯年運動會是一個國際性多項目的體育賽事，每四年舉行一次，其參賽者人數是同類賽事中規模最大的。 世界壯年運動會由國際壯年運動總會管理，不限制參賽者的身體條件並面向大多數年齡段開放，設有最低參賽年齡，以年齡排除各項目的巔峰運動員，並鼓勵中老年人參與，最低年齡要求介於25歲至35歲之間。
