故宫“猫保安"就是指居住在北京故宫博物院里的流浪猫。故宫的流浪猫，一部分可能是当年宫猫的后代，一部分是外来的猫。为了改变它们的生活条件，也起到防鼠效用，故宫工作人员便将它们“收编"了。故宫全院32个部处，有20多个收留流浪猫，5年来，故宫为这些流浪猫做绝育设立了专门的账本，共花费18410元。
