Unseen opportunities

Tea With George

About this episode

Opportunities

I was in New York City touring some sites on Manhattan with a friend.  We took two days out of the schedule to site-see and had worked our way from Downtown to Midtown.  There is no shortage of food in that city so we stopped for lunch at one of the many restaurants in Times Square.

While eating our food and watching the pedestrians walk by outside, my phone rang with a number I did not recognize.  I let the call go to voicemail and listened to the message soon after. It was a request to help on some technical work in Nepal about three months hence.  I let my friend listen and he too was curious.

After arriving home, I set about to get things in order and by September, I was on a flight to Kathmandu.  We are presented with opportunity all the time and not all opportunities are worth taking, but sometimes, stepping into those that seem impossible can have profound effects, both on you and those you help.
