'Unfortunately necessary' - Professor Allan Fels on NDIS changes

About this episode

It's been described as the biggest reform for the disability sector since the start of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The Federal Government yesterday unveiled its planned changes, in a bid to rein in costs, crack down on fraud and maintain the scheme's social licence.

The changes also mark a move away from diagnosis-based eligibility with about about 160-thousand people expected to be removed from the scheme by 2030.

  • GUEST: Allan Fels, Chair of Mind Australia
  • PRODUCER: Eleni Psaltis
