Undiagnosed Autism Led to Kellerberrin Shooting

0:00In Adelaide today, March 10, in September of 2023, Lachlan Bulls shot and killed his co-worker, Terry Janowski, at a grain silo, in the Western Australia town, of Keller Baron before taking his own life. An inquest wrapping up now has revealed Bulls struggled with undiagnosed autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and severe depression. Just before 9am on September 7, Bulls showed up armed with a pistol, two revolvers and a rifle all legally owned while dressed in. Camouflage and wearing a Nazi arm band, he fled after the shooting, prompting a huge police response. The small town, about 200 km east of Perth, went into lockdown as tactical teams hunted him down. They found him in a remote wheat field 20 km north around 2pm where he died by suicide despite efforts to talk him down. Experts at the inquest pointed to Bulls' mental health decline after rejections from the Australian Defence Force in 2019, and Western Australia police in 2022.
