UNC Women's Tennis Hosts NCAA Regionals

0:00On May 1st, Carolina Women's Tennis is dancing again, marking their 27th straight trip to the NCAA championships. They snagged the number 5 overall seed and will host the Chapel Hill Regional this Friday and Saturday at Tuning Tennis Center. Fifth seed at UNC faces Charleston Southern at 4 p.m., Friday, right after Maryland takes on South Carolina at 1 p.m. The winners battles 4 p.m. for a spot in the Superregionals. The Tar Heels rolled in with a 24 and 3 record, winning 8 of their last 10 matches. They just dropped a close one to NC State in the ACC tournaments in my finals, but their momentum is strong. This is the 21st NCAA run under head coach Brian Calbus, who has led them to 13 quarter finals in 7 final 4s. Carolina boasts a 68 and 25 all-time tournament mark, plus their first national title back in 2023. They have hosted regionals opening rounds for 16 straight seasons and advanced past them in 20 years total, so expect fireworks as they chase.
