UNC Women's Rowing Wins Lake Wheeler Invitational

0:00Our May 1st number 22 North Carolina women's rowing team wrapped up the Lake Wheeler invitation with a solid 5th place finish out of. 20 teams, racking up 63 points. They posted several weekend best times on Saturday morning, right here in Raleigh, showing real grit across the board, kicking things off strong. The 4v8 and 3v8 crews grabbed first place wins. The 4v8 clocked, 6 minutes 49.7 seconds to beat Boston College by 6 seconds, while the 3v8 hit 6 minutes, 32.5 to top Virginia and Duke. The 2nd varsity 4 earned 2nd place with their fastest time of 7 minutes 16.1, edging out Duke. Meanwhile, the varsity 4 took 3rd at 7 minutes 15.8 behind Virginia and Duke, and the 2nd varsity 8 finished 2nd at, 6 minutes 30.1. Head coach Aaron Neppel called his solid work all around, saying the team leaves fired up for what's next. This regatta, put on with Duke, gave everyone a top-notch experience and built momentum

1:05heading into conference season. Carolina heads back to Lake Wheeler May 15th through 16th for the ACC Rowan Championships, where though aimed to turn this energy into even, bigger results.
