UNC Freshman Wilson Earns All-America Honors

He's the first Tar Heel men's basketball player ever to lead the team in points, rebounds, and assists per game. The Atlanta native average 19.8 points, setting freshman records for scoring in 20-point games. He also landed first team All-ACC honors and made the ACC All-Freshman team, joining just Anton Jamison and Tyler Hansbro as the only Carolina. Freshman, to do so, earlier nods came from outlets like CBS Sports in the field of 68. This recognition means Wilson's jersey will hang in the Dean East Smith center rafters alongside 54 other honored Tar Heels. He's only the second freshman ever, matching Hansbro to qualify for that elite status. Wilson grabbed national player of the week awards three times and shown in key wins by 23 points against Duke and a big night versus Kansas.
