UK's 20mph Zones: Speeding Tickets Surge, Drivers Divided

Those made 20 miles per hour the default on most residential streets in 2023, over half of London's roads are there already, and places like Leeds are rolling them out too. Drivers are split, some say it's a culture of speeding, but others argue the signs and setups are confusing, snagging folks who usually follow the rules. The AA's president points out these zones are boosting camera catches on what used to be safer speeds. Into awareness courses hit a record 1.8 million attendees last year as an alternative to points and fines, while motorway speeding.
