UK Delays Low-Carbon Housing Rules, Critics Slam Decision

Loop holes allow wood burning stoves, which add to pollution, and builders can sometimes install fewer solar panels than required. Experts have split on the changes. Some call it outrageous that buyers face pricey gas bills when heat pumps are ready now, especially during the energy crisis. Others praise the push for solar and low-carbon tech as a win for energy security and lower bills. The standards have been in the works for over a decade, surviving shifts between governments.
