From the streets of Durham to the world, this is Durham News Today, a former University of Kentucky cheerleader faces serious charges after a grand jury indicted her for manslaughter and the death of her newborn. 22-year-old Lincoln Snelling was booked into jail on Thursday, March 12, following charges that include first-degree manslaughter, abuse of, a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing an infant's birth. The case goes back to August of 2025, when Snelling gave birth to a live baby girl in her Lexington home, but then hid the body in a, closet. Roommates discovered blood-soaked towels and signs of childbirth, which led police to question her, Snelling admitted to cleaning up and placing the, baby wrapped in a towel inside a trash bag. Meanwhile, the medical examiner ruled the cause of death as asphyxia by undetermined means. Snelling was a three-year member of the university's competitive stunt cheer team, but has since left school and the squad. She posted $100,000 bond last fall, moved to home confinement at her father's house, and
