Uganda withdraws from Invictus Games amid royal row

0:00Welcome back to the morning show. Well, fresh royal headlines out of the UK this morning. The Duke of Sussex is suffered another blow. It's like every day now. Here's our, here's our, there are a lot of blows. Here's our fresh newly suffered blow for the royal family. Editor, Peter Ford, what's happening with Harry today? Yeah, today. Well, this is bad. I think it has the potential to get worse. So in a nutshell, what has happened is Uganda have said we are stepping away from the Invictus Games. We will not be involved. Now, of course, the Invictus Games is very much Harry's passion project. I don't think anybody, even his detractors would say that he's not dedicated to that particular thing. So Uganda have apparently done this as a response to the letter that became public, that the Lord Chamberlain sent out to basically advise everybody that nothing has changed. They are not members of the royal family. They are basically like ex-employees because they're not working royals.

1:04And so they should not be her royal highness or his royal highness. You do not and should not courtesy or bow to them, etc., etc. So as a result of that, Uganda have said we stand by King Charles. So we are stepping away from the Invictus Games. Now, I don't think that was the intention of what King Charles wanted. And certainly I don't think that's what Prince Harry wants. But it is going to be a problem. If this becomes a thing, and other countries now start in unison dropping out, then I can't see that there will be any other choice but for Harry to step down and step away from it because if he's become so much of a distraction and an annoyance, now, of course, Harry and Meghan, angry, as always, are saying, this is all because of that letter. And you are destroying the Invictus Games as a result of it. So as you can see, here's some of these tweets. These are from various officials. I'm not even going to try and say the names. But various officials in Uganda making it very clear as to why they believe it's important to stay away. So as I say, it's bad. It could get worse.
