Peters knew right away after just one interview that Chesney was the perfect fit for UCLA. He praised the coach's potential to elevate the Bruins quickly. Chesney made his debut appearance at a UCLA basketball game against Indiana at Polly Pavilion, where fans got their first look at the new leader.
