Reporting from The Daily News, now, I'm Corey, with the story with the latest global headlines. Britain has strongly condemned Iran for firing missiles at the joint U.K.-U.S. air base on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Officials called it a reckless move that threatens British interests and allies, especially as Iran disrupts shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The U.K. has cleared American bombers to launch from its bases, including Diego Garcia to stop those attacks on ships. Meanwhile, Israel's Defense Minister says strikes on Iran will ramp up a lot this week, targeting its military and key sites. President Trump posted that the U.S. is close to its goals and eyeing a pullback from the Middle East fight. But the military is sending three more assault ships and about 2,500 Marines to join over 50,000 troops already there. Iran's main nuclear site in the Tans took another hit with no radiation leak reported. Fragments from an Iranian missile damaged an empty kindergarten in Israel and heavy strikes pounded Tehran while Israel targeted Hezbollah in Beirut, killing over 1,000 in Lebanon so far.
Casualties keep climbing with more than 1,300 dead in Iran, 15 in Israel, and 13 U.S. service members lost. As oil hits $106 a barrel, the U.S. Paws sanctions on loaded Iranian shipments to ease fuel costs, but the fourth-week war shows. No quick-end.
