Happy Sunday night. Everybody welcome to the roadwire fantasy baseball podcast. I am Scott Jen said joined usually by Jeff Erickson. We have special guests tonight. So looking forward to that. If you can please rate or view the podcast, we do much appreciate that helps you find us. We've helped you out this season. This long, long baseball season. Please leave us a like or some good comments or some bunch of stars that be really fantastic there. I mentioned before we have a special guest. We have Dustin McComis on with us. Fantastic NFBC player fantasy guy. Dustin, I appreciate you jumping on. How is everything in your world? It's it's good. You know, my heart had quite the rollercoaster Saturday night watching watching the beloved long horns in that game. It gets Ohio State, but got the deep sigh of relief after another fab run. You know, I mentioned you once I'm out. I have a tradition now like my wife has to check what happened before and I just kind of ask her clues about like what about this guy in this price and how much this guy go for and try to piece it together. So only one more. Fab run the go so a little less stress.

She a baseball fan and she like know these players and how to say their names. Or she just like reading names off a chart. She's she knows some of them, but you know, you get to this point of the year and some of the guys were bidding on like even like general baseball fans don't know these people. So like she's reading off and kind of like struggling with some of these guys. Yeah. Well, we'll get into fab. It was an interesting period of, you know, everybody's kind of got a little bit of money left, but not much you're trying to slide guys through. There were a couple of interesting people a bit on this week, but you also, uh, you also kind of work in the baseball world. Let us know what's what you do in that regard too. It's it's pretty fascinating. Yeah. So I used to cover the University of Texas as a reporter for a long, long time at a website called OrngeBuds.com, which is part of the rivals.com network and like that explosion of like the journal is a message board digital era. And 2021 I started working for a company called Five Tool Baseball, which is kind of like perfect game print baseball report, but kind of not, um, you know, the big financial side of us is we do a lot of summer tournaments in Texas, Texas home base, but they needed somebody

to do like all of their like scouting writing and evaluation writing and everything that goes onto the website and kind of be a liaison between college coaches and pro scouts about how players are who's good, who's not good, who should college is paying attention to all that sort of stuff. So that's my wheelhouse. I've always been kind of a one of these scouts. Um, so I watch a ton of high school baseball right about it, take video about it. Um, and you can find it all on five tool.org. Awesome. Who's the best player you've watched in high school that's now, uh, now making a big? Ooh, um, you know, so one vivid memory I will never forget. So every year for the last five years, I go to a bit called area code games, which is in Southern California. And my first year to go to area code games was at University of San Diego. Um, I, there is, I think it was the second day. So area code for people to know the pro scouts, hold tryouts in the summer, pick teams, and they coach, they coach the teams in the thought processes. We have eight teams from around the country. Yeah. If the pro scouts are trying to these guys out and they're

picking the teams, the goal is we're going to take as many really good players as possible to one place and play for a week. And every organization scouts can go watch these guys. So it kind of kicks off the kicks off the draft cycle for those guys because it comes right after the draft. And I'll never forget it's an 8 a.m. game. Paul Wilson was on the mound who left the, he was up to 96 from left side and up steps this guy named Kevin McGonagall first a b. Awesome. I love it. Let's left on left. So that's tough. You know, that's for high school players, especially it's really tough, especially, especially at 8 a.m. too. 8 a.m. Yeah. First pitch 96 mile an hour McGonagall hits a rocket out of the yard. And I'm like, oh man, like this guy is going to be, going to be different. So that's one of my favorite memories is like you see some guy, even that setting, you'll see some guys that are just a little bit above everybody else. Seth Hernandez, I saw him before he was a draft guy. Just he some of those guys are just really, really different.

Eli Willitz as well. But the McGonagall a b left that's also 8 a.m. 96 mile an hour. That that was a moment I'll never forget. That's a beautiful story. I love that. You got to know how state sucks in the in the chat room. So someone someone likes your, someone likes the Texas shirt there. Let's go on. There we go. Probably a probably a Michigan fan there. But so let's let's jump into fantasy. This is a really tough time to try and figure out what to do. A lot of guys are sitting. We're seeing like, you know, Dave Roberts already said free Freeman sit in the morrow and he hasn't had a hit in a couple of weeks. Like it's been really rough for Freeman. You got to you got to treat this can these last couple weeks. It's kind of like completely different from last of the year. Yeah. Guys that guys that you were dropping guys that you never thought you'd drop, you know, you're adding guys. You're like, you just need two weeks out of these guys. Do you make any kind of general strategy such for this final two weeks? How do you attack these? You're winning our last Vegas man. I should have buried the lead on that one. If you're having a great season, don't want to jinx you, but you have a nice lead. You've been you've been really good team there. Your top top 40 overall. So I've been really good there. But you have any got a general strategy stuff to find to each how you attack this this time very. Yeah. I think this time of the year, you need to be hyper focused on what things look like in the standings and trying to identify like where you're

anchored, you know, like where there's not really a lot of wiggle room and where you can have a pretty dramatic shift up and down. So for example, in our Vegas main, I thought that steals to me. There is still a lot of wiggle room. You know, you just don't know if there's one week where a guy goes into a lineup and he he plays a team that gives a bunch of steals and all of a sudden he swipes three bags and that's, you know, that's three points in the standing. So those areas that are really bunched up, I think you have to be, you know, really pay attention to that. And it's almost like in that scenario, you kind of just want to get the skills and worry less about the playing time. But if you're chasing things like wins and RBI, you're just trying to best your can like get enough options to like put in the lineup. And it's it's funny because this time of the year, I feel like the guys that are more beneficial to have are those guys on like the lesser teams that are either out of the playoff hunt or those teams that are like right in the stick of it and they've got to really do everything they can. So maybe paying attention to those trends, you know, who's who's playing for those teams? If they're a heavy platoon team, you can kind of project ahead like where the platoons work look like.

That's something I try to play really close attention to is I feel like there are some guys in the last couple of weeks that you just kind of looked at heads like, man, there's a lot of lefty's coming up. Like this guy is going to be on unplayable for three of these periods. Like he's a good player, but if you're not going to play him at this point, you kind of need to kind of lose. So being just like really hyper focused on the standings and where you can kind of gain or lose points and where you might be anchored, you know, like it might be really exciting to go after, you know, like like Montez and Seattle because the power is just ridiculous. But if you don't need power, that guy doesn't that guy doesn't help you. So, um, try to as best you can, like give yourself a bench of options to make up for the random sits on Monday or Friday or something like that and just be in really in tune with with the standings and in the in paying attention to those teams that have to play their guys. It's funny. You mentioned the steals in our men event. It's a really good example of the of what you're talking about. You've got 139 steals. You've got four teams behind you with an eight, but you've also got four teams ahead of you with an eight. So you like, you could you could end up with 12 points and steals. You get up with four points and steals too. That's a big gigantic swing. I mentioned you got a lead, but that's an eight point difference

right there. That's a pretty big swing. That's a that's a really good point. They and I see people like times, you know, you're up 20 and steals and still still playing someone like Justin Crawford or Chandler, so I'm sorry. I think I'm like, you know, you got to you got to really, if you have a big lead and something you got to start taking it. If you have big lead and save that kind of category, like I've stopped playing Jacob Latz, even though he's been awesome, I just stopped playing him because I just don't need saves. It's just looking at those standings. It's really, really key to try and figure out that, you know, at this point, you're just trying to you're just trying to gain those last couple points to win your league. Yeah. Yeah. And that's I'm not I'm not known. That's why I was aggressive to get Jorge Mateo in our main is like, I like that. I looked at that. I was like, man, like, there's so much uncertainty with those seals there that I want a little bit of a buffer to where I can at least have that option and see where it is after a week. Yeah, I agree there. Someone in the chat asking if they just lost Rafael Devers, we will hit that Devers out for the season after a crazy hot like eight weeks of season. Would you would you prefer to pick up Ty France or Jonathan Oranda in Tampa Bay? Ooh, that's um I would probably

that's the I would probably lean France. I mean, especially if you could have gotten him before the week of course or the big core series upcoming. I know Tampa Bay does have a lot of lefties coming up and in a random does typically play a lot anyway. Yeah. But I think the way the Padres are swinging right now in France, the year he's having I might lean France. Yeah, it's a it's a really tough call. My my my right away answer was Oranda and then I realized that the race have eight lefties in the next 13 games. So it's it's tough in France goes to they got a cores this week for four then homing. It's Miami. It's a really good set up. I think I go France too and one of those things if you ask me in May, it's definitely a ronda. But if you're the last two weeks I'm taking France. Yeah, Victor Mason Jr. I picked up in two leagues last week hit like 900 this week with home runs and steals. He's got five lefties week. I kept him just been so good. I don't know if the race will go strict with two in that but he's might be on playable this week. I'm hoping you know maybe playing the last week of the season. He's been so good. It's really hard for him to bench it though. He's been so red hot right now. Yeah, that and Cedric Mullins has really fallen off. Yeah. You know, maybe there's a situation where they feel like Deluca can play center and Macy can play in a corner and they bench they bench Mullins in

that situation. But I went with you ice cream to Richie Palacios and I I had a really hard time cutting him loose. But with all the lefties come I was like, ah maybe I'll try to get him back for a buck or two next week. But it's going to be thank you for your service. But you're not going to be in the lineup much these next next week and a half. You mentioned you mentioned the standings and the actual baseball you know you want you want you want you want teams that have nothing to play for playing the young guys or you want some guys who are still playing for stuff. Who do you like in the in this a central west we have two really good division races the end and actually it's pretty much I wouldn't say cooked but I mean the braves are five in the Phillies but the central and the the west are both done. But the white sucks are up a half game on the guardians the asses of one game on the Rangers. Both those braves got closer today. Even when I brought it to the outland they got closer since then. Who do you like in those divisions right now we got we got two that are coming out of the final two weeks here. I feel like cleave this is kind of what Cleveland does and you're like you don't really know how they do it and then they just figure out a way to get into the playoffs and it's pretty cool that Cleveland and the white sucks are paying you know to start this week but you also Cleveland Cleveland's

matching up with Gavin Williams Foster Griffin and Parker Messick. Yeah. I'm probably going to take them to win that series and if they win that series to the head to head component I think they're going to be off and running get Oakland at home at the end of the week and they finished at KC so you know can't the white sucks that are pretty favorable schedule as well with the road Rockies Detroit who's been struggling KC as well but I think Cleveland's going to get this series and I like them to figure out a way to win that division. Yeah I like that too this series obviously me great I'm one you know it's one team sweeps is going to be pretty much pretty much over at that point you get a two out of three but you're right Gatt Williams and Griffin and Messick all the Griffin got smoked his last star but that they're set up perfectly for this series. What about what about in the West it's a it's a horrible division the Arsenal leading it leading at 500 right now all five teams more than 40 runs negative and run differential I'm not sure I've ever quite seen that do you have a preference between the the Astros and the Rangers going down last couple weeks yeah I think Houston although you were down deal they got to make sure they got

him in the lineup the rest of the way because he's been incredible but yeah I think Houston you know Christian Havier is really turned it on yeah it's recently that's been a big boost from them West Neskey I know you get hit around recently but he's he's generally been okay Lambert's been okay to get 100 round to be decent I like the way it kind of sets up them especially that last week at Seattle and then at Sacramento to end it I kind of lean Houston the bullpen I mean Josh Hader it's just not not a good not a good full fade in all my DC you know not getting in Josh I thought he was gonna be just kind of done for the year but I did too that the way he's been throwing outside with Houston which is wild I mean they they just basically pushed your GM out I mean they don't even have a GM and they're they're probably going to win the division he was in playoffs the only thing I'd say is Texas has 12 games left 25% of those are going to be started by Jacob DeGrom in man that what was that start he had where he got bombed by some I've been the white talks he got smog and then I thought he was like oh we're gonna have an injury and he

had something that came up and the next started once yeah yeah one hit one hit 12 strikeouts and next start I'm like I guess we're back to normal he like turned back the clock till early met DeGrom the last few outings it's been a treat to watch but you're right I mean the way he's throwing three starts left with that guy yeah you're gonna have a very good chance to win when he's on the mound yeah Mackenzie Gore has been really struggling so I don't know where I'll help it we also think of pitching a Bradford twice this week he's not been great since he's been back but if they could be I mean Kyle Kochos but you're great for them I like see Texas win I just I can never really room for the Astros but I like to Texas pull it out but I think I'd leave with the other the Astros are set up pretty well they have a hundred brown throwing three starts down the stretch too so they're they're set up pretty well as well but yeah I'll be curious to see what native quality I know he's he's come back but like if they can keep stretching a matter maybe he's just like a come out of the bull pin and air it out for two or three innings kind of the guy that could be a pretty big boost for them to kind of help them yeah I agree I'm all right I spent some players here you're you're obviously on top of a lot of stuff here camp shittler Schlippler I can

never say the name preached exceptionally well again today he was a six innings one hit no earned runs eight strikeouts ERA now is under two the whips under one 228 strikeouts 25% came out as well it's been I'd say break out but I mean he was obviously really good last year when he got called up and he was 296 last year but you know over over we're talking now 185 innings for Schlippler is he top five pitcher and drafts this year we're I'm asking the question with the hope that we're doing drafts next year I do understand that's that's a maybe but well is he top five pitcher I kind of think he has to be at this point Scott they released a spring training schedule we're good oh yeah it's all good yeah let's play guys here's the spring train so I do I do think that he is comfortably a top five pitcher you know when I when I saw the Alan I kind of was thinking through some guys just with his foundation of age pretty general clean bill of health throws a ton of strikes leans on the fastballs good organization

he's now proven to be durable he's done in the playoffs he's done in the regular season I think he's going to be firmly in the mix is like up there near the top yeah of starting pictures when when draft season really rolls around but it's it's really hard to poke any sort of hole into anything he does yeah it's like one of his it's like worst case scenario adding for him as he goes like six innings and gives up a couple of homers like he just doesn't walk anybody yep so like and I kind of like to I forgive him at the point a while ago but the way his his evolution was as a hard thrower it was like it was kind of very gradual over time you know wasn't a great college prospect and I kind of think that that bodes better for him long term for like a health component standpoint right without hard he throws but yeah no top five SP for me next year for sure Schlittler and Mizorowski Sanchez scuba yamamoto set the five uh probably Sanchez is going

to be interesting um the the volume is there the whip is kind of gone back towards where it was before last year a lot a lot of hits like the last like six to eight starts a lot of it's yeah and it's starting to kind of be like a better Logan web ish kind of profile you know and yeah I think I think part of that too is Philadelphia's defense I think doesn't really help him um and I don't know how much that's going to change next year but yeah I think that's probably that's probably where I'd go from the jump right now what a dislozardo start to sneak in there assuming he's this little thing he's got right now is not good because he's been he's probably been the best picture baseball last like six weeks yeah and that's the thing is that like if you if if I didn't just read the headline about the shoulder issue I think he's absolutely I would I would definitely put him a bet ahead of Sanchez for sure um but yeah it's like how often do we see and I hate it but how often we see these guys when they throw complete games and they're just really going after a no hitter or something like that and they just have a little sort of sort of something so I really hope

it's nothing serious um but yeah if clean bill of health that guy is is definitely in the top five baseball baseball legend John posm was in my my NFFC draft this weekend in Vegas so I saw him there I walked out we're just kind of chatting he's like oh just see the news in lasardo and I just I just walked away I'm like I can't talk to you about it but I'm not doing this good job I don't want to hear bad news what's that it's not just for ball of tape I was like it's the bar straight to the bar I was like oh I was like he's not mean he's not pitching tomorrow right because he's going to pitch twice this week brutal but yeah he's been really really good um where do you think I didn't put this in the out like but what do you think what do we do with gear crochet like is that uh it's gonna be almost impossible to get a figure out what it draft it's gonna be especially impossible because of the impending lockout and it's gonna be even harder to get news um it's gonna be the teams aren't gonna have as much communication with the players and like what's going on and everything like it'd be nice if he can just get back on the bounds and like a like a competitive game and like give us something there but yeah um that's gonna be a really really hard one I can find myself like

like until that season gets going and scheduled and like you see him kind of doing things then I'll feel a little bit better but that's gonna be a really tough one this off season. It really is and obviously a huge huge debacle in the first round you got him on you you get 30 innings and they wouldn't they wouldn't have been good in it's either 60 alright never get that one start where you just got absolutely smoked but since we're talking now it's talking top five pitch that I want to switch over to the first round just for a second um is p-car I'm sure definitely uh moved up to number one is that can be a consensus number one does show how you have a chance to sneak in there judge Bobby wit I just I mean PC is at 41 38 right now he's in 280 11 runs at 98 rb I'm gonna have 100 and 100 he's probably gonna have like 118 and like 105 or something crazy like that is he yeah is he consensus number one is he gonna be the 180 p we walk into it Vegas hopefully next year I don't think it's gonna be consensus um I think he'll probably end up being the most often picked number one but um wit I think we'll be in that mix as well show hey assuming that he has a kind of a normal off season but you know remember at the end

of last year we're like oh my god all these PCA struggles like what do we do with that is like you look back at the year he had 2025 he still went 31 90 runs 95 rb I 35 steals and we were just like his demise at the end of the year it's like we probably should have said well what if he just kind of figures it out and takes another step and sees what happened but you can buy the age yet let usism the defense that's gonna keep him always on the field um the line up the park uh yeah that's that's like what's the worst case he goes like 30 30 again next year and that's that's a great place to be for a first pick do you worry about the bobby wit power at all he's got he's got 18 home runs I know he has the 40 steals been huge there but 23 home runs last year and 18 right now this year um yeah obviously he's stud I love bobby wit but you worry a little bit about that about the pop a little bit yeah you know you kind of wonder um you know he's running that 256 ISO in 2024 if that was a little bit of an outlier um you know the way he hits and things like that it's not like that classic like sell out and really try to you know pull the ball for home runs

and things like that so yeah I do worry about that a little bit I was a little surprised by that just because the wit what they did with the park I thought that park is gonna help him out a little bit more than it has this year so now that's a fair question any when you start comparing lineups you know we'll see with with cags and gents in and maybe healthy mac you'll grow see it might not be too bad but um you know you start comparing lineups at the top there he's probably gonna rate lower than some of those other ones yeah no doubt definitely a tougher park even though with the park with the with the walls wall moved in but I mean still has 40 home runs you're still gonna end up right like something like 2045 with a good average but he has 54 ri I know yeah that that just kills you I mean it kills you if you need to be I mean he I have probably win a team it's really good and it's been fine because I've been able to move around maneuver around it but 1854 is a problem for two stats for a guy you're picking at the top five yes yeah it's a problem and I hope it's an outlier just because of what he did every year before that yeah yeah I mean it says more about the royals lineup the 50 barbie eyes but we're talking about the royals so yeah you know it's totally plausible that could happen again yeah um what the heck do we do with with George Kirby uh

I guess I would say for right now we starting in the next couple weeks and what the hell do we do with him for next season like this is a guy that this is now back to back years where and we thought maybe 2025 just kind of a you know ERA blip like the the fit the fit was really good the X-Fift was still really good the K-Mine is walk was still over 20% so you kind of like do the you know the battle is little high maybe the 420 was gonna come down but he's 425 this year the whip is really a problem 136 he's been terrible lately he's a he's got a 498 doesn't like that ERA since August 1st strikeout rate is super concerning from 26% down to under 20% walk rates still really good there you know up from those like weird 2324 years but same as last year so I don't think the walks of the issue um but uh it's it's been bad I feel like every time he goes out there it's time like you know a couple of good names on Sunday gives a 4 or 5 runs you that this week this week against against Sacramento but um how do you feel how do we figure this out for next year it's a tough one um because there's certain aspects under the hood that are that are you know promising uh you look at things like body R.A. 3.26 which is one of his best marks for his career

pitching plus some of the stuff metrics all that sort of stuff is kind of in line with a lot of his seasons when he was a better pitcher but I think you just do the eye test and you watch him and it just doesn't look like the same guy that's kind of known for the command got really being able to do it every once in the baseball and and all that sort of stuff as well so um I would definitely roll him out this next week so I think he gets the angels and I would probably start me against the angels at this point um but yeah you could probably feel a little bit nervous about that even still I don't know I kind of wear the price lands I could see myself having a lot of interest if it's one of those deals where you're getting a pre-significant discount kind of where he's gone because the home park is always going to be a plus and something about the mariners this year I think collectively that entire group just has kind of been a funk all year um and I kind of wonder if they'll just I don't know get this season in the Revere Meal Better vibes next year kind of get back to to being a better collective group all around but it feels to come down a nice discount I can find myself being interested because there's enough things underneath to where if he just commands

the wall better and get back to who he is I think he can return some value and the good thing is it's not a Velo issue as his four sewers actually up like a half ticket there just less whips on everything you know the four seamer whips are down the the sweeper whips are down the knuckle curve whips are down just it's just been one of those weird off years I think I could probably buy and you're getting you're going to get discount next year people so so over the guy right now uh me included have been my other main event team that is would be it would be uh doing really well if you just had a regular whip but uh it's still winning the league but it'd be doing really well for that a good whip but um yeah it's just been it's been just really bumpy there's a every once in a while you get a jammy like maybe here we go yeah it backs it up backs that wouldn't something not good you's never gotten a role all year um let's say you're you're in Texas there I'm asking about a Houston Astro here as Jose Al Tubey kind of croaked as a fantasy play right now it's been a really uh really rough year for him I know he missed a little bit of time but still still 517 played at parents so still a pretty good sample there 247 44 RBI he's got five stolen bases on the year um he's yet at 15 home runs not really a plus guy in any of the five categories

so far right yeah yeah yeah 36 years old um and and always a little leery as guy's age guys like him that are kind of the hand-eye scrubs the law you know hobby or bias was the extreme example of this and it's like when it starts to go for those guys it can really go pretty quick and the thing is if he's not gonna run it's a really tough profile um in just five steals this year um you know he'd be able to accumulate if he was healthy just because of that lineup but where he hits in the lineup you know if he's kind of pacing for a full season the counting stats might not be too bad the homers wouldn't be too bad but um he's running a low babbub again for the second straight year after being a really high babbub guy for most of his career so I think the age the the way he attacks offensively um that kind of profile I think the days of him being the kind of a guy you can really depend on a fantasy or probably gone um but you know he probably still gonna be an accumulator that um if he comes at the right price he he won't mind too much especially

the he's sitting around some of those guys in the ass there's lineup we have some of the chat fired up because the giants just beat the cowboys so congrats to angelo 8424 really good a really good home win for the giants there um one more second base for all I ask you about before we move into some other stuff uh Aussie albys another guy that um always felt like a little bit of accumulator in me he's got these weird like years like pops the homeruns he had a 30 home run year a 33 home run year but last three years uh hasn't been over he's at 21 this year is the highest but he's hitting really bad lately he's hitting like a buck 97 since uh since uh since uh August 1st three home runs seven rbi since august 1st just a brutal number they're obviously a good lineup good team to only three stone bases on the season kind of big thing to we had 14 last year you're thinking maybe you're gonna get you know 12 to 15 that sort of thing with with 20 home runs he's only got three of that really hurts uh where do you feel it what do you feel about Aussie albys 28% hard hit rate it's like down with like the Chandler Simpson uh Justin Crawford's of the world like just like a like a rabbit kind of guy you don't expect that from albys it's been a tough year yeah it has and you know he was one i feel like at this point last year even a

little bit before that there was a lot of really really frustrated people that were cutting him in mains yeah um just that that's been a pretty high draft price on him just because he'd been so bad and that was like a strand of like a full like year and a half where he just wasn't right and I just like you know that we're in this era now that we have all this information and it's just like you start to learn like the guys who hit the ball hard on a consistent basis those are the guys are they're easier to bet on than kind of these other profiles or it's kind of more well maybe they're really you know pull fly ball profile or or just like if you don't have the barrel rate and you're not really hitting the ball hard and you're not running there's a chance that things are just going to kind of crater out from under you so I think that's kind of what we're seeing here which is for the most part of the last two seasons kind of been who he is and he started really strong this year is like oh man I missed that one yeah but this is kind of starting to resemble what we've seen for a while now and I kind of just think this is who he is yeah I agree there as well I think I'll be I'll probably just be a stay away there I think he'll still probably go

a little bit earlier than I want to question the chat someone said they can only make one swap would you swap in herberto for DiPalo Mesa Bessana or Roqueo or Jeffers for Shay Languilliers I'd probably just grab Languilliers I would just grab Languilliers yeah they got the A's are on the road this week with them at all home week to finish the season I want all these he's he's the H now too so there's no reason he's not gonna play every day I would yeah he clearly wanted to come back and he didn't have to come back so yeah I think he's gonna get some out of bats and I think he's that last week is going to be nice from yeah agreed there as well let's look ahead to to this week I know we we'll talk a little about kind of a two week chunk to end the season but don't look at this week first we got 90s with seven games the White Sox twins tires and angels in the AL the Metz Red Dodgers Padres and Rockies in the National League just to note the Nationals do have five games this week so if you got Nationals hitters just make sure you know they're off Monday and Thursday they have a two game set against the Phillies and three at the Cardinals but we do we always kind of look at the you know the the good the good home park teams to kind of figure this out a little bit Rockies have

seven home this week a beautiful set of still warm enough where it's good place to hit four against the Padres three against the Mariners they also get three more in the final week so Rockies have 10 home games the final 13 games here yeah and I feel like we've been waiting all year for the Rockies to have a streak like this where they have all this home games and it kind of comes right to end of the year so I grabbed um Amador last week just trying to get ahead of ahead of the rush a little bit and you know that line up well if Wolley Castro comes back maybe that complicates things but cleaner fasciitis is I think that's something that really tipped typically lingers it does so I know they're a little frustrating with mixing the match and sometimes what they do in the outfield and and that shortstop and things like that but they have so many home games and even if your guys not playing at all of them you're probably gonna get some value out of that so I tried to get out in front of that and really load up for this week targeting Padres guys targeting Rockies guys big Montez on the weekend if you need some power that could be a really fun one so yeah that's

a really really advantageous situation in the years yeah it is I looked at who they're playing I looked at Rockies I had an Amador in an important spot too so hopefully I think you know I think even if Castro comes back like you said I think they'll with 10 straight home games and they go play it now for his worth worth putting your line up as well so I agree the Reds are all so good upset this week the Reds have seven at home four against the Dodgers so obviously any Dodgers hitters then three against the Cubs over the weekend so good weeks for the Reds if you can find some of the Reds besides Ellie who can actually hit yeah that's the thing is that I feel like they've just been so bad especially against lefties so you know Hector Rodriguez has probably been longed on and most your leagues but yeah it's it's a group that besides Ellie it's been pre-it's up sled for those guys yeah we talked a little about four the hand in this stuff but with teams the puttune is really big this time of year the Tigers for instance gets seven righties this week if you want to add like a cult Keith kind of guy like a perfect spot it should play at least six games this week we mentioned the raise they get eight lefties that's the same game the Reds socks do as well I believe they're playing uh Texas then Tampa Bay this week so they get a lot of a lot of

lefties as well they get Bradford and Gore this this to start the week and then they get to see more later in the weeks they have a lot of lefties as well um she's the thing to know like we mentioned Victor Mason Jr. um some of these guys especially with the Rae is they're pretty strong with the platoon it's going to be tough to find spots to to play them I'm hoping Mason Jr plays at least a couple of those games but it's going to be hard uh with with that extreme of lefties slam yeah it's I guess the one silver lining is if you kind of peek at the bullpins of these teams that are playing the raise do like to pitch hit a lot so even if your guys don't in there and you're kind of feeling a squeeze like oh man what I do know how many options that position you can feel pretty good that like they're probably still going to get in at that and most of those games come off the bench but yeah something got to be really paying attention to right now because these heavy platoon teams they're going to stick to it and they're going to start those guys from the jump there's going to be some weeks where these guys have really nice skills might not be usable yeah then you look at the flip side that teams face a lot of righties uh Arizona Detroit get 11 rise next two weeks I'm a little worried if you have labor torus he's been sitting a bunch especially

its righties I uh I dropped him in one spot I kind of went into this week figuring that uh I'm not sure how much I can use them I'll look at the lineups uh whenever they'll not play tomorrow on Tuesday but I'll look at play tomorrow against Toronto I'll look at that lineup but I'm I don't think torus is very usable here down the stretch I think they're going to sit him a bunch I agree I dropped him in my OCs even though it was a kind of a nice schedule upcoming but just the playing time has been so sporadic and I mean they're probably trying to get a lot of look at some of these young guys they're calling up on them blame them so yeah you just have to be paying attention that and be okay with cutting the guy loose yeah for sure let's say like I said you know you kind of guy for two weeks is not going to hurt you and it's in a spot like that it's probably going to help you want you want playing time at this point you want guys to run the line up yep um let's look at some news and notes real quick here before we jump into fab um I mentioned before the big news today was Rafael Devers 60 day IL obviously he's dead for procedural purposes but they have a core muscle injury sounds like he's gonna have surgery obviously I looked I looked at some drops in the league and obviously he was dropped pretty much across the board yeah I I didn't know Rafael Devers had core muscles injury you know not the most not the most great physique but I don't know my man's

probably been hitting so many home runs and rotating so fast in the batter's box that he finally got man that came out of left field I mean yeah I was like prime Babe Ruth for like a month you know he had a he had a grand slam on Friday night I was in Vegas watch the game and he had a grand slam off like a low pitch like nobody's in home run off I think he was lefty too but I was like a bomb and all of a sudden someone mentioned me Devers hard I was like what do you mean he just hit a grant I obviously it was uh but that's uh it's a tough one I mean if if you're in the mix say you're gonna give me power like he's been carrying teams yeah 15 home runs is the break six something like that's a crazy number um he's been awesome yeah he's been you know after the everybody sounded the alarms for his demise really in the year he's just down to the guy he's always been it's it's pretty wild when you look I mean San Francisco is a tough place to hit 30 home runs lefty and he flew by that number pretty easily mm-hmm back to back years too I know last year was only half the year but he said it was 3798 260 hard hit rates over 50 percent he's just been just been the same guy he's always been yeah yeah until he stops doing it he's he can bet on

30 high grades and just a hundred RBI like lingered in the fifth and sixth round in 15 teamers this year like it was it was kind of free money there it was a it ended up being a really good pick um another obviously big one shoheo taani went on the he had to go in the 15 day IEL but I'm people to know that because he's a two-way player and they made all those rules for him he has to go in the 15 day rather than the 10 day so sadly uh shohe's uh shohe's a drop in fancy leaks yeah I uh I I mean it might have been kind of uh uh air to keep him in an OC but like I should have cut him loose you know because like he said it's the 15 day IEL because you've got to treat him as like a pitcher too so he's got to go there he's he's eligible eligible to come back on the last Saturday of the season the 26th I think it is yeah yeah so you know we'll see if he tracks back for that it would be very shohe to come back for one game and hit like three homers still two bags right um but yeah that's it pitch six innings two yeah right yeah how many clothes to game I'm gonna close your now get your rain up say um but yeah that's that's um that's tough I mean this dodgers team too it just kind of a weird I say that and they still have a phenomenal record but yeah

just the way the season's gone is just with the injuries and shohe kind of looks human for the first time and like you know is this is this for the people meet who who drafted Kyle Tucker and need to need to feel you know get it out man the year he's having making all that money so the funniest part of my Kyle Tucker the first round pick in the main event was I wanted Tatees and he was like he was like 50 he's like 15 right in there I was like I pick I think it's 12 in that league and I was like oh I'm just gonna take Tatees love Tatees I know he started slow but and he went like 11 in that draft I'm like oh what am I gonna do now and I'm like oh Kyle Tucker safe like he could he's gonna fall into 30 100 in that lineup yeah and steady's got like he did he did a great slam this week he did a pretty good week but uh it's uh it's been it's been a brutal season for Tucker yeah yeah it has but yeah I'm like you like yeah where's Kiss scenario 25 homers 15 seals 100 runs 90 RBI yeah no problem you figured that was like a bad year for Tucker it's right hasn't even close to that another guy who had a ton of hype went on the aisle this week Kyle Bradish went on a 15 day out with lower abdominal discomfort it's funny you look at Brad's the year right he's been he's

been it's been a rough year 150 have innings the innings have been there but it's been tough you look at the area like 4-1-2 like yeah that's rough but you know I guess we could deal with that one four six whip is an absolute team killer I think we are all worried about the innings and there's a lot of talking in spring like is he gonna get limited anything and it kind of is outing short of the skip him yet he's about to the problem the performance and the lack of strikeouts absolutely has been yeah I uh another forget being on the clock in our biggest main um and ended up landing on him after some guys just went ahead of me that uh one of which I think was Luzardo that I really wanted and um I was like uh worst case you know the case the cage regress but he's still gonna throw strikes the whip will be okay uh fast forward the whip has been an absolute disaster and um you know it just goes to show you sometimes even when those guys come back um he came back to the end of 2025 looks phenomenal yep yep totally totally matched the skills he did in 2024 uh before the injury um just because they come back I mean those guys come off surgery it's not

always guaranteed yeah um and I just like the Orioles collectively didn't do like a great job maximizing a lot of their guys this year but yeah I've had to wear a lot of that whip and it's been really really tough um that's that's gonna be a very uh tough one to kind of figure out next year so there were um between I looked at our I'm looking at our draft right now between pick 313 and pick 4.5 so that's what that's eight picks there were seven pictures taken uh cold regans you missed you did good there Freddie Peralta also not good Logan Webb disaster especially today again Luzardo awesome George Kirby then you took Bradish and then Dylan C. Sweat the pick after that oh see C. Sweat burned me so bad the year before and I was like I can't I can't I don't know if he's gonna bounce back I really want to lose Ardo I think I probably would have taken Kirby if I if if he were there over Bradish um but C. Sweat was not even on my on my mind but I was a big Bradish guy heading into this year just because everything underneath just like like oh he came back on the mound he had a workload he'd face some good teams and it just you

just you just can't take pitching for for guarantee that's for sure but what are run of five seven pictures like five total disasters two five total disasters and two like guys that are like top three in the saw young like that's a that's an insane boob or bust stretch stretch yeah that's how it goes man that's how it goes that is a crazy run right there that is wild um my next no it was actually hey Zuzardo uh left uh with shoulders stiff in the earth he pitched a complete game then uh shoulder stiffness inflammation uh came up so he didn't make it start this week he says hopefully to pitch next week so as a fantasy expert that you are what does one do on uh the the Phillies don't play the Tuesdays Davis Tuesday morning if the news does not change just one throw hey Zuzardo this week and they're fantasy who um kind of depends on what you need I mean this time of the year you probably don't have many great options on your bench you certainly probably couldn't find anything on the waiver wire because it's really not not in the add not not pitching this week it was yeah it was really really tough so um if I'm something that needs like strikeouts

I would probably roll them at at at the risk of like you know like if you take a zero like what's the best what what do you have to plug in you know like yeah so if there's no news I think that I there's still you know the playoff situations kind of still up in the air um I would I would probably roll and if I needed strikeouts um if I didn't need strikeouts and didn't need wins I would probably try to try to look at other options yeah it's a really tough call I've got to figure it out I need the I don't really need K's I need I need whip in that league and that's like uh if he takes a zero it doesn't hurt me there if I put someone else in the does here we can help me in a website probably gonna throw him but I'm hoping I get some sort of like I you know the it still but still feeling good or feels great like some some kind of news that makes me lean a little bit because I'm right on the fence right now I'm hoping something could push me in the direction yeah you're hoping Monday you get some sort of report about tossing the outfield feels good or tossing the outfield feels bad at least they can make my decision for me so yeah a couple of real quick notes um Esmeralyn Valdez who was who was the wizard for a while and has been really rough lately but he went

to 10 a I with a strained left hammy obviously and easy drop there if you still had a Valdez Roky's a Saki for the Dodgers could be back as early on Thursday we're talking about the Dodgers and their injured issues sounds like Roky might be back would you throw him this week I wouldn't just because guys come off of blisters um yeah just never know and he was kind of volatile to begin with so I think I would stay away from that one I added him in the league but they're at Sintsi I agree with you on the volatility I'm thinking maybe maybe get a start from the next week after that he was like he was like third on my list so I wasn't the top of my list but I got him but I I think I'm gonna just chill at him chill for a week um you mentioned Michael Garcia earlier when talking about Bobby wit and the royals lineup um he started rehab assignment on Friday so I'm like he's gonna try and make it back to another team that doesn't have anything to play for their last place in the central but uh sounds like Garcia is gonna give it a shot here for last couple weeks yeah he's somebody that I was hoping to land in some leagues where I need some speed and could have some batting average boost but yeah if you're rehabbing right now you're aiming to come back and play I think exactly and they don't have much in the form of young guys need to play ahead of them so I think

he's gonna get to go here pre-send I had a note here in Wilson Goodtrera but he actually returned Sunday so if you have Wilson Goodtrera so nice that you can get him back in your lineup his team mates at Don at Raffaiella is aiming to come back next weekend hopefully for the the race series so I saw an interview with him where he said he's hoping to play uh Friday at Tampa Bay so we might get Raffaiella back as well Red Sox Red Sox Red Sox really went down hill and both guys got hurt they really miss both those guys yeah I kind of exposed that you know some of those guys that were kind of overachieving for a while once those kind of guys fell back to earth they they missed their stars in that lineup for sure yeah let's jump into a fab it was a period where you know you're looking for a bat you're looking for something to help you right now you're really you know like you mentioned before with the stone base is trying to squeeze some category juice out of these guys but Shane Langa Lears mentioned earlier came back wanted to play as you mentioned you know A's have done the play for we want to come back he was only 30% roster in the main event coming into tonight were you were you jumping at Langa Lears I know it depends on who your two catchers are but uh see like a guy that can really impact impact your team for a couple weeks here yeah I had a very very modest bid in for him I mean I'm fortunate to have uh Baldwin and Liam Hicks in our

in our main uh that works I mean to me Langa Lears is still an upgrade over Liam Hicks and Liam Hicks you could also play in a corner in field spot as well so um but I where I had the hammer and OCs I used it on Langa Lears like that guy could be at the catcher spot this time of the year to give a potential different speaker back that that's a huge deal it is he was added in 42 main events so I bet you 30% so means everywhere else he was picked up uh there were a couple bids over 100 so people who had some money like this at the time to listen time to do it a lot of bids and like the the 20 to 30 range that's something like that and then there was uh there was a one one dollar bid win oh man and and it was my bid oh wow I I did I only did it because I was like what the hell I it was a made event like I have seven bucks left I needed to pick up a pictures I'm like you know what I have Sean Murphy I'm just gonna throw a bid there for a dollar for Lincoln's I'll never get you only made the one for a dollar so everyone's a lot of works out so when you think you should do it take the extra five seconds and always try it yeah yeah because people scan sometimes like the percentage owned and sometimes like I like that that's kind of lower on the on the totem pole there

you might miss them yeah agreed obviously the big name call up this week was a Jose de Pala with the Dodgers O'Connie went in the aisle we mentioned earlier um monster in double a but they called them up straight from double a like this is uh the I assume they called him up to play um he you know he had a really impressive home run today so he was like it was like oh that that bump the fab price a little bit but um you're you're a scout prospect guy um give me give me a quick read on on to Paulo and how we aggressive trying to get this unique is a play every day I know get come call for double a is tough but 27 bombs 31 stolen bases hit three or three like it's an impressive stat line yeah I think that he if he doesn't play every day it's gonna be close to every day um I think that this this team needs to a rest a couple guys get them off their feet and be they kind of need a little bit of a youthful jolt into the lineup and I think this is what he can provide um I mean the the way he controls the zone the low swing and strike rate um he just looked even though he didn't have much it didn't have any experienced at all triple a he looked ready to

make this jump major major prospect ton of power but I don't think he's one of those like power over hit guys to where it's like you know like a valet is where it's like homework strikeout kind of scenario this guy's gonna get on base he's gonna hit he's gonna get to the power and I think he's gonna play and frankly I think they need they need him to play right now they need to get some things going before they head into the playoffs so special special talent the kind of guy that if he would have been debuted you know two months ago we would have been everybody would empty the walls together uh he was adding 59 main events I went I don't know if he was owned in one or the one he went without without being bid on but there was a lot of uh again not it appears on money left but a lot of like you know double digit bids there were three that are over a hundred bucks again people had money it was time to do it uh really fun got to add your team for a couple weeks too I was I was in on it I bid what I could but I ended up not getting do you get them anywhere I did not get it anywhere I didn't need power in any of my OCs so I kind of prioritize some other guys and I just didn't have the money in my auction or my main but I would have loved to have them that's for sure because it's a really really exciting profile yeah it

was it was fun I'm hoping I'm hoping he does well it's a fun guy to watch you're I think you're running the Dodgers the Dodgers need a little bit of spark I was at the game on Wednesday night to score like 13 runs against the Reds they killed them but you just look at the lineup you're like you can you use like a really young power bad is it's pretty nice you know obviously the Dodgers don't need anything but um it'll be it'll be it'll be fun for them we're matching Freeman before like I think that he's probably gonna sit I bet I bet what 12 games left I bet you he's he has 13 games left I bet you he has I think they already said he's gonna sit their first game this week yeah so I bet you he sits five games the rest of the way for something like that he just he looks like he's fried right now yeah he's definitely we're we're in 37 years old yeah uh Lazaro Montez we talked about a little bit last week I wasn't here but Jeff did the podcast with Paul Spore so no he was still he's 60% roster of the main events he was not a year's universal pick up last week and the people worried about the playing time um looked pretty good this week showed off the power a little bit uh everybody that plays NFBC or looks at this at all looked at the three games in course filled over the weekend against yeah against three righties and that's where that's where

the rest of the pickups came in so he was he was popular this week as well not added obviously as many leagues because he was uh he was he was taken a bunch last week but uh how do you feel about uh how do you feel about Montez yeah if you need power I think that you should have added him or tried to add him for that core series yeah I'm up coming and uh he's definitely uh the power over hit kind of the guy yeah um but the power is it's really really really special power so yeah if you needed power um you know one of the better guys to add and kind of getting back to even on those those games where he might not starting into lefty Seattle's gonna get him off the bench the first opportunity to face a variety so I it's kind of annoying how sharp our industry is now and how everybody plays face-to-face while they're like oh we see all the lefties we're gonna leave him out into the wire now we're gonna add him this week on his playable at the good point it it I've been playing like the high level NFBC for a long time it's uh the difference between now and like say 12 years ago is completely it's it's it's vast I mean the amount of info and people that are smarter playing this and play it smarter it's wild you could you could you could sneak stuff through

10 years ago you can't sneak anybody through in a minute anymore no and people are so in tune with schedules and pitchers and cartoons and everything it's it's annoying but it's fun but it's annoying there's so much good info out there so many people that do this really well that point that stuff out then I think it's just it's just out there uh question the chat for you would you rather have Pedro Ramirez or Jordan Lawler this week coming up uh Ramirez I think you know Lawler's playing time has been been tough to kind of get a handle on in Arizona um you know I know they're kind of rust is shuffled the roster a little bit uh with like Lertus Guerrilla kind of moving on finally but um I think Ramirez is gonna keep playing until Danes Beeswanson comes back so you know just hit it home run again recently I think they really like him so I'd go Ramirez for the playing time I would too I look at that weekend series at Sinci like that I think Swanson actually might shoot to come back for that but I still think they're gonna find a way for Ramirez to get in their uh especially against varieties I I think I would go uh I would I would go Ramirez as well look really good this last week um what about other you know those are the kind of the three big

bats especially uh Languiliers and DePaul but what about what else you do in terms of bidding we might we mentioned the Rockies earlier we both talked about Adele Amador but what other bats we're looking at is that to look this week whether you needed stolen bases or home runs like what what are what are who are you some of your favorite ads as you kind of look through uh trying to figure out what to do yeah definitely the rays right handed bats uh Deluca and Vellotti um you know with how many lefties they have coming up and just the skills that those guys have especially Deluca with that the speed and power component Vellotti with with you know the eligibility to kind of you know fit into a hole at several different places in your lineup yeah really like to both those guys and potential ads we mentioned the Rockies guys right now her and came back um you know swung it well coming back from the IL um you know we'll see how long jazz shisms out but Anthony Volpe looked like the swing was different when he came back from Chipotle he had that good moment you know hitting that grand slam a total Yankee stadium grand slam oh my gosh hey he did that swing and I'm like oh that's showing the highlight gets it's a three run double and then a way to figure out I was like there's no way that ball went out so total Yankee stadium grand slam um but I had

some interest in him as well yeah this was an interesting week you had a lot of name recognition guys yeah I'm coming off the IL you had a lot of core stuff upcoming um you know you had some specific skill kind of guys I mentioned earlier on Jorge Miteo was my my main ad in my main because you know I wanted to make sure that I didn't lose a lot of ground and speed yeah he's gonna play a lot with with walls out as well um you know what's you know if if any of those giants outfielders are still kind of hanging out I'm sure most of them are gone like Jonah Cox and um that guy's fun yeah he is it's kind of like a Henry Bolte kind of a guy you know it's like the giants version of that maybe a little tiny less power but um really runs as well and um a guy I didn't think I was gonna get um I got him for a buck in our main is a manual Rodriguez okay um I you know I think people kind of looked ahead to see all the left he's coming up and I'm not so sure he's he's gonna get platoon just with the way Walker Jenkins has been playing so yeah I kind of think that

Rodriguez might get first crack at being the everyday guy against both lefties and righties um so I had some interest in him really talented guy just as never stayed healthy um but there's a lot of talent there there's some power there's some speed he gets on base a lot the twins obviously still trying to find a way to get to the playoffs yeah um so I had some interest in him and then those course guys um you know I had some minutes in John Ray but I saw a cags came back so I was like I don't really know what to do with that situation but uh kind of it was like man I wish I had all these options like the last three rights you know yeah just like you know you know camp you saw now you know if you get a picture you know he can go into course laying a layer if he was available um you know the the Seattle guys go into course for that series so it was a nice week to find some hitting if you needed some hitting it was you met a funny you mentioned that because I were always to do the list every week for the podcast and I was like really struggling to find hitters and today I had like 20 guys and I'm like and I could just kept firing through my like a lot of interesting names you mentioned we talked about manual algorithms like a lot of loud contact in the miners like really good hard hit rate barrel rates in the double digits there

but I want to ask you Dwocker Jenkins was a big ad was it three four three weeks ago something like that has struck you said struggle that that's putting it mildly he said he said he said he's in 098 right now he went under 100 today with the over four with three strikeouts I think I feel like about like 10 days ago he just really started pressing his bad looks really low he's been really unlucky but you could tell like a strikeout starting to build he's a 50% strikeout guy in the miners this year he's at he's at over 30% right now like he is just full press mode would you drop him right now if you're defensively I would I would and I agree with the pressing you know whenever you see a guy like him that ran the contact rates he did the miners and the low swing and strike rate and all of sudden those numbers basically just completely flipped the other way yeah it's a probably some sort of combination of like hey you see him pro pitching for the first time or pressing or whatever it is but yeah I would drop him I don't think he's got an a hit against the lefty yet I was kind of looking through some splits there but yeah you look at the swinging strike right against basically I'm it's more than double what it was when he was in the miners so crazy I think I think you got to cut him loose because he's he's just not playable

right now yeah I think a 12 team or it was a pretty easy cut for me 15 I forget what I did I might have held on to him and just I keep looking at the 17 you know 14 17 the miners like maybe he gets going I look at the bad apps 125 you look at that strikeout right three more today it's it's just it's clear it's not working right now they're probably gonna have to you you're you're you're Rodry gets calls a pretty good one they're probably gonna have to shift somewhere else just to give Jenkins a break at least right yeah at least get him out of the game for a little bit any thoughts on this guy John Peck in and Detroit seems to be playing a lot if you need steals you consider him as a kind of maybe a backup to Mateo at all he yeah funny say that he was on my bid list down down the waterfall behind Mateo because of the speed component in playing a lot um the strikeout rates he's keeping that in check um you know one of those guys I think the Tigers would like to see what they have here kind of looking towards the future but yeah 22 steals in the miners this year um you know three already I think if you needed steals you can feel pretty good I think they got seven games this week that he's gonna play a lot of them yeah probably get you probably get you a bag maybe two yeah I liked that I like that too I had Mateo

above him as well I just think with walls out he's gonna play a bunch and I think more like you know you have the green light than than than than than than pack but I think that you know pack starting at three steals already 11 games I think you're right I think he plays all those games and he probably steals two with your bags this week uh you mentioned starting pitching was was tough to find we were talking earlier uh what the heck did you do here I I needed pictures in a couple spots and I kind of like got to the point I'm like I guess I'm adding a couple middle relievers like I just needed some arms were there any stars you like I'm asking first about Corbin Burns you know obviously he had the name value but came back pitch three innings uh do you think there's any chance he gets to five innings these last couple stars I just felt like the the blank he's gonna have in his game is probably not worth adding him yeah maybe that last start against against San Diego to in the season um I would be surprised if he gets to five this week um wasn't even the workload like the velocity was down yeah um the stuff just didn't didn't look great um so yeah I didn't really have interest in him um even with the projected two stars I just

from what I saw in just the workload I mean this time of the year if you're picking up somebody chances are you need wins strikeouts are both and I'm not sure you's gonna be able to provide you that and there's gonna be risk that he has like kind of a blow up ratio type situation I did the same thing when I when I first looked at this time on Thursday I'm starting to think about how I'm like oh Corbin Merzback that's gonna be a big ad for people and I got a little deeper I'm like yeah I didn't do it either and they're two and a half two and a half two and a half behind San Diego right now like he won't be probably make that last start if they they've been eliminated so they're just uh I did do it he faces Miami at home and the Yankees at home this week I just I couldn't pull the trigger on it yeah I'm with you on that one what about some of these other two steps let's just pretend you your ratio is okay you really need some some strikeouts some wins you've got to take some shots here uh Ryan Johnson uh for the Angels gets two home starts against the Mariners and the twins uh our old friend Eric Fettie from a couple years ago who's good uh has two starts against Cleveland Detroit uh Jack Perkins who I've finally run far away from I uh spending I'm just spending much time not running away from I finally have at Tampa at Cleveland could get strikeouts though if you need them yeah you have much do you do you like any of these

three guys at all as a as maybe some some risky two steps you can do to some pitching yeah if you do need strikeouts I think Perkins needed to be a guy that like if you just kind of look the erratio is like I can't really move up or down I'm just trying to stop where I am um he's probably gonna get you some strikeouts I'd be surprised when we get to the end of the week if he makes two star say he didn't get you know 10 11 12 yeah strikeouts um I I kind of like Fettie um I like the schedule I like the way he's been throwing he just seems like five innings two runs three or four strikeouts a solid whip um you know gets gets um Cleveland to open the week um and then maybe he gets a two step to end the year with at KC and then uh you know get the road rock he's potentially to end the year but um he kind of like nobody safe that's all why are this kind of here but he felt like you could kind of feel pretty good about which uh what you're gonna get there so um I I liked Fettie and then Perkins if you just need his strikeouts Johnson to me was a little tougher to figure out he's been so good yeah on the surface and I do think that ever since the

angels like found you know the computers and they turned everything on and they actually kind of joined join this era of baseball their pitching's really turned the corner could Kucut he's been way better yeah Grayson Rodriguez has been way better and Johnson's been good and I feel like if you really needed wins and you didn't need strikeouts I think you could probably roll the dice with that one I probably would have had Fettie ahead of them um but but but I think that if you're in that situation I can't fault you for taking a chance on him just because he's been pretty good for about a month straight now you're looking his last eight starts three one one zero two one one seven starts Aaron runs giving up like that's a really good stretch and it also makes me feel like an eight coming at some point which kind of scares me right yeah you can you can't be that good but um I had him a little bit of had a Fettie I understand I get you're saying about Fettie I think that's uh I think Fettie's blow up risk is probably less than Johnson's but uh I was I had them really close I had Perkins third just because I've been so burned uh last couple years but I do I do agree the under strikeouts like he had he had seven strikeouts and threenings two outing to go like he has

that punch out pitch um can't get guys out besides that but uh I think that I you're right I think like 10 11 to 12 strikeouts is a pretty good baseline for him for the for two stars and let's do me he makes both yeah yeah he's gonna get you some k's if that's what you need yeah so was everybody else you liked I really struggled with stars we I like I looked like five times in 15 teams they even looked at 12 teamers I'm like can't find somebody I'm remotely far about adding was there anybody else starting pitching wise you found yourself uh being in my even mildly interested in the Christian Havier um where was where he was available uh what I would I would I would have loved him to available I did not have available I would have loved to pick that up to yeah just the way the stuff is looked you know when he first came back it's like this looks kind of rough but yeah um they you could tell they've kind of tweaked some things with some shapes and and the way this stuff's performing now and um they're obviously in the playoff plant they're trying to win in the vision I think he's been throwing really well I had a lot of interest in him um where he was available at all in 15s he was definitely kind of one of my my main targets and and corner pre-lip too um just because he's getting a lot of strikeouts he might get the angels later this week

they kind of use them sometimes this so traditional starter with an opener uh but I feel like under the hood it's been better than the surface sometimes he's gonna get you some strikeouts and I think you know if it's at the angels and then versus the rangers in the year it's a pretty dang good schedule um to in the year facing those two teams so um those are kind of the two of the guys that if they're available in 15s I had a lot of interest in I like that as well um some of the chat was asking about Quinn Matthews he was pretty man he was I think it was 100% owned in the main event becoming today but do you like Quinn Matthews I I'm a Stanford guy so I watched him a lot when he threw you know four thousand pitches in the in the in the regionals and all that but how do you feel about Quinn Matthews the strikeouts he's only had 30 innings in the majors so far this year but the strikeouts have not transferred over as of yet the walks are a problem they don't have less than the miners but that's still a problem how do you feel about Matthews he this week he's facing um he's facing uh giants at home tomorrow and then he gets a home starting against Washington uh James Wood is back so that that line it's a little bit different than it was maybe a couple weeks ago but uh how do you feel about Matthews with the home home two step this week

I'm firing up him up in one oh see this week um you know a lot of that is the giants against lefty's uh kind of a deal but and and no devers too yeah and no devers now so definitely not as don't see the situation but um yeah like last time I watched it it was kind of like right like you can kind of see the prospect status and then it's like how the strike throwings not quite as good yeah as I want it to be but um there's something there and I definitely had interest in him for this week um probably gonna throw it back after that with with potential at Milwaukee looming yeah um no falling week but but I'd like to schedule this week um Washington you mentioned woods come back but Washington's kind of fallen back to earth at the big time dealt everybody yeah so I think this is a pretty attractive two-start this week that great I was uh I'm dev I haven't been in one spot I'm definitely throwing this week too uh I may not watch it but I'm definitely throwing my business just here to watch but any uh any interest in potentially a tray a savage stash there's this some thought that he might come back and throw the final week and if he does there's some there's some thought he might come back Monday maybe throw twice for them you worry if you need

it strikeouts or you just kind of need it to take a swing on on something special potentially happening um I think you'd have some interest there I didn't have much interest just because I'm kind of more focused on like the workloads I can depend on you know this time of the year but um I would I wouldn't fall anybody like you know they're they're still kind of in it um you know they're trying to come out kind of in it they're a game out oh they're a game out now they're a game out after all this stuff of the bleeder season and the the world series hangover they're a game behind cleave and for the third wild card run out it is it is it is I didn't realize it I didn't realize they cut it to a game we get we get four east teams in the playoffs oh my gosh probably because Max Schroeser's start was so bad I just kind of maybe like the block block James out of hey Vlad Vlad Holmer at home oh my gosh is that his first or second this year first of the season was today oh my gosh he acted he acted like it was like a significant moment too he like watched it I was like come on oh geez man what a bunch of landmines there were in the first two rounds of bats is here so yeah I mean one game out um yeah if he's in like considering how he in last year

with what he did in the playoffs and stuff like that there's a chance that dude comes out and strikes out like 13 guys next week I kind of kicked it a week down the road I looked down like you know what I'll see if he's gonna I'm not gonna use a roster spot on it now but if he's starting Monday next week I'll probably take a shot on it that way especially especially if they're still in the mix yeah yeah before we jump out of here we've kind of hit everybody but I want to talk for a lever is real quick you know you mentioned when you're talking about stolen bases with you know clumps of clumps of teams in the standings you can move up but it saves you usually that same way too there's so few of them especially now that you know a couple couple can really move you up and down who'd you like potentially if you needed some saves say you need you know I'm in Lee look at our main event you know you've got you've got three saves more than anybody else so that's not doesn't really work for you there but in that middle there's there's some clump in going on if you have if you needed some saves we look at Pete Fairbanks if he was available he was 78% roster but he's back for the Marlins someone like Rico Garcia in Baltimore's pitching really well got a couple saves recently too what were you doing in terms of if you need a you need a closer you some saves right now what was your spot yeah Fairbanks if he was available I think would have been my clear option

yeah probably second on the list after that would have been Zephyr John yeah just because he hasn't been great but that bullpen's just been so bad and he's at least gotten the job done recently and they've kind of gone to him to get the job done and you know that they're going to be in the hunt to win games down the stretch I feel like that's it Baltimore's been just so touched project it's like whenever you think it's Kitchwich all of a sudden it's you know it's you know then a Trico Garcia again and it's kind of bounced back and forth between those guys so I kind of thought a little bit better about Zephyr John getting more save opportunities than the guys in Baltimore even though I probably like the skills of the guys in Baltimore a little bit better Kansas City what they would do between Cruisem Pearson yeah I think both those guys if they were available anywhere you had some interest in them until White Sox I don't know I mean Grant Taylor sometimes yeah great Taylor's finally going to be the guy I think I was gonna pick up Brian Hudson and he like opened her game and I'm like oh I guess I'm crossing him off the list then he got a couple saves I'm like I don't I don't

know what you're getting there either and it's really tough is it is it Justin Martinez time I think it is like the immatulate inning in the way yeah passing yeah I mean it might be time to hand that guy the ball like they played on doing last year for much of the year so yeah that was another one to where you could kind of see a situation where he gets like three saves in the year and his time is blowing guys away the doctors were interesting to me because they had a seven game week yeah and just the way the bullpen's just kind of been fluid and like what happens when Ed when Diaz comes back and Scott blew one the other night and they've kind of been using a lot of guys there it's where you kind of just throw a bucket one of them and whichever one you get you throw them in there and hope you get a win and a save out of that type of situation just because of the games they have this week yeah I mean it could be like four guys in there it could be having Phillips it could be Tanner Scott still but and Diaz is still you know on the way back I wouldn't I don't think I touched that as I think they're gonna I think if he comes back I think

they ease him in last time he thinks like threw him a save off the first night he was back it's just clearly didn't work but yeah that's a team of seven games that probably's gonna win five of them and you're gonna get two or three saves it if you hit the right guy that could be a big score yeah absolutely anybody else fat wise that's that's on your mind have I've kept you here for a bunch of night but I just is anybody else you want to talk about anything else on your mind no I think we hit it on and all it was a really really big hitting week yeah it was and you know if you need to power there's some power if you need to steal there's some steals if you needed to catch her surprisingly yeah there's some catchers out there as well I mean we didn't mention a guy like Grand Poly who I think's got a good schedule upcoming I had a lot of interest in Dustin Harris where I needed speed just because you know like anything I've filled her playing a lot for the podraise he's been getting some playing time and running as well so good week to have hitting pitching wise just brutal man if you if you need to win some strikeouts and we're trying not to blow up your ratios you're gonna have to say some prayers this week for the guys around the wire there so no I think we hit it on the wall I'll hit them on all and you know just try to say you know paint attention to

how teams and lineups and then in the news and things like that and hopefully you've got a pretty deep bench to where you can kind of some surprising stuff comes out Monday or Tuesday you've got a you've got an option to throw in there that's that's what it is this time of the year it's really frustrating that we get to the end and that's what we have to deal with but that's just the way it is and I think your point is good like you should you should set it up so you have a deep bench if you've got guys in the aisle get rid of them like you need you know three or four bats that you can move in especially on Friday if you're playing an NFBC type thing where you can move guys in and out on Friday you're gonna have guys you don't want to play next week and they're gonna have guys to start sitting with mentioned Glaver Torres like midweek last week I'm like I don't want this guy anymore I have to I have to adjust so if sometimes when you can't make moves you got to make sure you have that defense these these last two weeks of the season I I'm a big proponent of like five or six bats in the bench next week like you figure out your 10 pitchers you want you you want you want one or two in case somebody gets scratched but pictures lock on Monday or Tuesday like you can't do anything about it there's no reason to have them under bench one or two I get a set for a scratch or something like that sure but like you should have five bats your bench so you can move any if it makes it hurt you get you should have a guy for every single spot possible yeah and a lot of these we're gonna see too upcoming a lot of these pictures are gonna you

know these road projector rotations are probably gonna change heavily between now and the end of the season so you know you might have a guy in your bench like how he's not playable and then all the sudden something happens to some pictures like oh wait he's facing three righties this weekend instead of one yeah that's a good point too we talk about all these like you know you face eight out of 13 lefties that may shift as well but these last weekend every stat counts I remember a year like 50 that 12 years ago I had a Greg or Bronco run scored in the last game for the rest or the giants that want to league so it's like oh it all comes down I've had that you go the opposite way as well it's very very much that there was the year like god like six years ago the Dodgers play I think Dodgers may have had the Rockies in a like a one game playoff they say that's when those games counted and like walk up you little through like still most through a no hitter like seven shutout things and it did it shifted my whole main event like two say it was it was crazy but all the stats can all year but you just focus on this last weekend but it's it's wild times but yeah like you said make sure you watch these lines of guys aren't playing on Monday or Tuesday when the first game make sure you know why if they offer maybe they got something banged up because guys banged up right now tend to miss more than one game is yeah just kind of they're kind of just playing it out right now yeah I need I need Jake Bauer's his foot to just be okay the rest of the
