Two Hillsborough Principals Honored for Leadership

Two principals from Hillsborough County Title I schools received top honors in Florida Tax Watch's Principal Leadership Awards this week. Lippi Dottaree from Dr. Carter G. Woodson, K. 8th Center, and Dina Langston from Armwood High School were two of the 15 selected statewide. Dottareeed has led her school for three years, while Langston has been an armwood for six. Both run schools that serve many low income students and focus on strong academic growth. Florida Tax Watch leaders praised principals as the key support for teachers and students success, right behind classroom teaching itself. Langston shared credit with her students and staff during the event. Each honoree chose a student for a two-year college scholarship to help with future opportunities. This builds on their daily work to boost learning and achievement. The ceremony happened Thursday afternoon at Armwood High, where the school has climbed from low performance to just one point shy of an A-grade under.
