Turning Why Me? into Woo Hoo! - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast

About this episode

Are you a “why me” kind of person?

Maybe you don’t even say it out loud, but regular phrases that get said inside your brain include things like, “why does bad stuff always happen to me” and “what did I do to deserve this?”

If that doesn’t sound like you, then yay, you! You have the emotional maturity to understand that you’re not being picked on so you don’t focus on normal life events as if you’re being victimized.

If it does sound like you, then yay, you! Now you’ve got an idea of some personal growth that will make you feel SO much better.

Here’s an idea you can use to banish those “why me” feelings: catch them as fast as you can and laugh at them. They are the 6-year-old version of you who never grew out of focusing on bad things and taking them waaaaay too personally.

Getting in the habit of laughing at those non-productive thoughts will help you get out of the habit of thinking them.
