This is Cory, keeping you informed on what's happening worldwide. You're listening to Global News today. President Donald Trump has picked Oklahoma Senator Mark Wayne Mullin to serve as the next Homeland Security Secretary. This comes after he removed current head Christy Knowham from the role. Mullin, a first-term senator, will be the second person in that job during Trump's second administration. Mullin brings a background as a former mixed martial arts fighter and a long time backer of Trump's policies. He entered the Senate in 2023 and is known for his strong personality. He's voiced support for the Department of Homeland Security's work on detaining undocumented immigrants. At the same time, he's called out the partial government shutdown for hurting the agency's funding. Recent troubles at Homeland Security include two U.S. citizens killed by federal immigration agents in Minnesota. Mullin has defended those officers, saying they face huge threats while doing tough work. The Senate still needs to confirm Mullin for the post. He's also a family man, father to six kids, who built up a plumbing business over the

years. This episode is proudly sponsored by our partner. No need to switch positions. The sound is already where your head is, S-O-L-I-S-O-L-Pillow.com.
