President Donald Trump jumped in early, endorsing 12 Republican candidates across congressional districts and a state senate race. Most of those picks are incumbents with strong chances of winning, including names like Greg Murphy in the 3rd District, Virginia Fox, and the 5th. And Richard Hudson in the 9th. Trump also backed Michael Whitley for an open U.S. Senate seat and state senate leader Phil Berger. Trump's endorsements have a solid track record. In the 2024 primaries, 96% of his picks won, and in 2022, it was 92%. That pattern holds here, with 11 out of 12 candidates seen as safe bets. The exceptions add some drama.
