1:05And it was kind of anticipated. I think it was just all coming down to what day? Welcome to the program. Dana, I'll ask with you. We're at the top of this first hour here on Monday, getting you set up with all of the latest and what to expect. So it was starting from before the strikes, there were a lot of indications that something was going down. I told you, Friday, you had the ambassador, US ambassador in Israel, Mike Huckabee, who sent out an email saying that Americans, American staffers in the embassy, etc., and others need to make accommodations to get home sooner rather than later was the language that he used. It was language designed to not freak people out and cause mass panic, but it was a language that indicated necessity of speed. And then of course, there was the representative from Oman, who was meeting the administration in DC on Saturday as Ramadan kicked off.

2:05So there were, and he was to give Iran's answer to Geneva on Saturday. So it seemed as though they weren't expecting already, and you can tell that from what POTUS was discussing with the negotiations, how yeah, it doesn't seem like Iran is really going to come to the table in good faith. You know, as you heard him say, we came, we thought we had a deal and then they walked away and we thought we had a deal and then they walked away and kept doing it over and over again. And he said, okay, that's it. There were, the media was, it was very interesting. The media was very eager to go after POTUS with the whole line in the sand thing, right? And the reason they were doing this is because of what Barack Obama had done with the line in the sand with Iran. So they were saying, oh, Trump is in a very difficult spot. You know, he has this line in the sand for Iran is, what is he going to do? Like they were fully anticipating him to do what Barack Obama did, yet they defended Barack

3:05Obama when he did it. Trump actually makes them, he not only enforces the line, he takes the, the comedy's face and shoves it in the line with a bomb and totally, you know, merks them off this mortal coil. And so yeah, I would say that that's a very big difference. Now, this is how we're going to break down Iran because I want everyone to understand, you know, one of the things I say quite often on this program is I don't care if you agree with me. Just make sure that you're disagreeing with me, disagreeing with me based on fact. So leading up to this because there are a lot of people and I really do think that the media is inflating and trying to really drive this division of between Trump and his own base. You need to be very careful who you listen to right now. And I'm, I'm saying that with all the sincerity I can muster, you need to be very careful whom you listen to because there are some bad actors out there that are wrapping themselves in the cloak of conservatism and the cloak of republicanism, but they are anything but

4:05they have been advocating for and not so serotonously pushing Islamist agendas frequently. And these are also the same people that are trying to hijack Trump's own movement away from him because they think you're stupid. They think you have no idea about the lead up to this. So I want to break down everything that led up to this because one of the big problems that I have with the way that all of this is being described, especially with those who disagree with Potus' actions and we'll talk about that coming up is how this is somehow for Israel and it's not for Israel. Anybody who knows the history of the United States with Iran knows you don't have to have Israel's involvement in it for the United States to have beef with Iran. I mean, we didn't bomb Iran because of Israel. Now this is separate from whether or not you think we should and we're going to get into that 2001 authorized use of military force. But this is different from whether or not you think that we should. The point is is that it had nothing to do with Israel. I mean, if you really want to go back to it, you could look at the 976 Americans

5:09that have been murdered by Iran in the past what, 47 years. Some of us haven't even been alive for as long as Iran has been terrorizing the world and the West, particularly the United States. I mean, we could go all the way back to 1979 when Iran technically already declared war on the West. You could go back to the Barut, a Barut embassy bombing. You could go back to the hostage crisis. You could go back to CIA chief William Buckley being kidnapped and tortured and murdered to torture to death. The Kuwaiti air hijacking, TWA, 47. We can go on and on Colonel William Higgins who was murdered by Iran and that was in 89. Then we're not even touching yet. Notice how we're not even touching yet on the Houthis, on Hezbollah, on Hamas, on all of the little proxy groups that Iran has been funding. Let's not talk about the hundreds of service members that have been killed directly by Iran, by Soleimani, which is one of the things that Potus mentioned accurately, when he was there from the podium at this Medal of Honor ceremony.

6:13So, I mean, we could get into American troops by Iran back militias. Like I said, we could get into the hostage crisis. We could get into a number of things. We could get into them under Obama Biden boarding one of our vessels and making our troops and photographing and disseminating it around the world, get on their knees with their hands behind their head as a propaganda sia. And that was in going through the Strait of Hormuz. So, we could do all of this. You don't even have to invoke Israel in order for the United States to want to kick the ever-loving hell out of Iran. To say nothing about death to the America or the fact that Iran tried to assassinate the President of the United States. Let's not forget that. And they admitted it gleefully. So, let's not forget that. So, you don't even have to invoke Israel in this to note that the United States has had justifiable beef with Iran. And we're going to go over the history of it. Not only that, we're going to go all the way back to 2001 because this is going to be the big debate coming up after these. After the war powers resolution, it's a 90-day thing.

7:15And then the President has to bring it to Congress. The 2001 authorized use of military force. There's a fight over the interpretations of it. Because you could argue technically Iran is not mentioned. But any party, what is mentioned, any entity that had party to 9-11 planning is technically covered by the 2001 authorized use of military force. And for the people who say that Iran had nothing to do with it, I will have you go back and look at how Iran gave a safe haven for al-Qaeda following 9-11 and even during them before. So, we're going to go back to all of that. We're going to bring it up. And like I said, I'm just going to give you the information. You need to make the best decision for you based off the available information. And not what some clickbait whore digital prostitute that's getting paychecks from cutter once you to believe. So, we're going to dive into all of that as we roll into headlines. And of course, the terrorist attack in Austin is Lama's sleeper cells from Iran. We've got to break all that down. You know that they're apoplectic over it. So we'll come back. Polymarket accounts are 1.5 million in bets on the date of the strikes, including six suspected insiders. 15:22Joining us to discuss this and of course, Iran as well. Congresswoman Beth Vandine, my congressperson from the great republic of Texas. She joins us now. Congresswoman always a pleasure to have you. I've got to get before we jump into the primary stuff. I have got to get your kind of 30,000-foot thoughts on everything that has happened in the past couple of days with Iran. And the people, there were people celebrating in Dallas over it. Yeah, look, this president did whatever other president has only talked about or dreamed about but never had the guts to actually do. And obviously, this president potentially was thinking about it over a month ago. But it worked with our allies in that region to make sure that they were prepared and they were ready. And if you start thinking about the people who are ticked off the top of the list of the most wanted in Iran, I think they've got like 48 at the top 100. This was a very calculated, a very strategic, a very surgical attack. And as a result, I think the rest of the Middle East right now

16:24and the rest of the world is celebrating. I mean, I've been telling people, let the man cook, because he hasn't gotten us involved in any kind of war. He took out Maduro. We took out El Mencho's, that his name came. Yeah, you know, you're, I'll go to your white adjacent side. El Mencho, take out a big giant cartel head. Now we have the Ayatollah. And I saw a headline where it looks like, oh, Putin's looking to give all the security guarantees possible and seems like he doesn't want any of the smoke. That, I mean, that seems to tell a great, I like other tyrants being terrified of what our president's going to do because he's unpredictable. I mean, maybe that's not the best way to go. I like it. I love it. I think strength through that is, is perfect. Iran has been a horrible regime for decades now that has completely trapped, disempowered its people, tortured its people. And the rest of the Middle East has lived in fear. And I think when you see the United States, again, working with Israel and other allies there, Iran's reaction is to actually, you know, carpet bomb

17:28and send missiles into the neutral folks like Qatar or Bahrain. Bahrain, why are they choosing to attack, you know, people who are potentially, you know, they're allies in that area to be able to work with the United States. It shows how desperate Iran is. This is a president who has been able to put Iran on its heels. There's no doubt about it. Iran wants Americans dead. Iran wants, you know, any kind of democratic leadership in the Middle East gone. These have been an enemy of the Western world of diplomatic values, of democracy for decades. And I think this president finally coming in, working with allies to make sure the destruction of the Isletolus is exactly what's in the best interest of America, Middle East, and the rest of the world. And, you know, Kudos for him to do. I know we're going to have a war's resolution when we get back. We're still waiting to see what the details of that look like. But, like, I am in favor of getting in and getting out of Iran quickly, making sure that the people of Iran have an ability, an option of being able to take back

18:29their governments and any help that we can give them that does not, you know, put innocent Americans in harm's way, does not get us into a protracted long war. I'm supportive of. Yes. And I know the war power's resolution. That's something that, depending on, I think the timeline that he states committed to this course of action, depending on what happens, then he would have to return to Congress to get full approval of Congress to continue at that point. Because I feel like a lot of people are a little fuzzy on some of those details. They are. And we'll see. That will be worked out this way. But again, I'm not for a long protracted war that doesn't have a budget, that doesn't have a goal, that doesn't have an end date. But I think we're going to have that. I think this president has shown, he's the exact same way. He does not want to put, you know, American servicemen in harm's way. But he also represents that there is peace through strength. And that's exactly what this administration is military, I haven't been able to achieve. There you go. I wanted to ask you now I got to switch gears because Texas primaries, March 3rd and everybody's watching because it's not, the crazy thing in Texas is it's not just Republican versus Democrat.

19:31It's a lot of Republican versus Republican too. Because you got Democrats who, they know they can't get elected as Democrats. So they decided to dress up as Republicans, get votes and then shock or shock or they end up voting with Democrats in Austin more than they actually vote with Republicans. And this, I just wanted to get your, I want to get to the say back too, but I kind of wanted to get your opinion on the whole Crockett phenomenon. I, it's hard for some of us to take it seriously. I don't get it. I don't get it. I know she raises money. I don't get it. I know she raises money. Who looks at her and says, yeah, I'm gonna write a check for that. You know, I am not one of those people. So I can't answer that question, but I do know. I mean, I look at the numbers. I look at the numbers themselves. I look at her social media numbers. The amount of interviews she gets, the amount of free publicity that she, the unarmed publicity that she says she gets, it's astonishing. But the funny thing is it's actually just, it's the atrix. That is not when you see what she was like before she went into Congress. It is two completely different people. She's playing a character. That character apparently is,

20:32people are hungry for that. And you're gonna be supporting it. But I don't, there's no way that she's gonna win in Senate, you know, with that whole state. But I will look, tell you, if you start looking at some of the early voting numbers. I know we were talking about this earlier when I went to go early vote last weekend on, you know, the dams, the ours, we had separate lines. And there was a long line for, for Democrat primaries, there's a very short line for the Republicans. But that being said, when I start looking at the actual numbers, the breakdown is actually not that astonishing. I know some people were very concerned because we had slightly more Democrats than actually Republicans that were voting in early voting. And they thought, oh my goodness, this is gonna show like all these brand new Democrats that are bringing to the polls. Actually, no, they had 96.8% of the people who voted and the Democrat primary, we're intending on voting in November any of it. These are not brand new voters. But if we are gonna tear apart the numbers and think about what they mean, one of the things that we have to pay attention to is the enthusiasm. Right now, the Democrats are much more enthused

21:33to get to the polls. Now, whether or not this, because you got people at Jasmine Cruckett on there that they either, you know, don't like or they really like, we'd, it remains to be seen. But I don't think that Republicans can take it for granted that their voters are going to come out unless we give them reasons to come out. The second thing that we need to look at is how Hispanics actually are going to be voting. What their turnout is gonna be without having Trump at the top of the ballot. As you know, we added five additional more or less red districts in the state of Texas. And that's, you know, that's a gamble. That's a risk because they were looking at a lot of the Trump numbers and where Hispanics were going to be able to, you know, check their ballots and they were assuming that they were Republicans. We have to make sure to earn their vote. And you think about what we've been able to do with a great, beautiful, you know, one big, beautiful bill when we look at, you know, the fact that you have now, you know, wages that are outpacing inflation. You look at the increase in wages, it increases in private opportunity jobs. Those things that the Trump administration has put

22:33into play working with Congress hand in glove is gonna be really important that we get those messages out. Very important. And the one big message to get out is making the Senate pass the SAVAC. We're talking with Congresswoman Beth Vandine from Texas and she's been a huge, huge proponent and co-sponsor, I believe, too, in the House. It went through the House. The House did its job. So the Senate is not doing its job. Now, the House did its job three times. We can send it over to the Senate, really saying this is an important piece of legislation you need to vote on. And if people are threatening to vote no, make them do it on the record. The problem that Thune House is procedural. A lot of people don't wanna have, you know, and his own party, John Curtis, Senator Tillis, have been very vocal and not wanting to change the process, the procedures for being the filibuster, the talking filibuster, changing it to that. And it's resulting basically in the Senate shutting down. Thune is not gonna put it on the floor

23:33because it doesn't think he actually has the votes. You already have McConnell, you got Murkowski, who already said they're gonna vote against the SAVAC Act. This is an act that basically says, we are going to make sure that people who vote are legally able to vote. That they are citizens, that they have to show proof that they are citizens, you know, I say it's all the time, when you go to buy a beer, when you go to get a library card, you have to show proof of residency. But it's just on some states. It's protecting beer over ballots. And, you know, in Texas, we do a very good job with past estate law that makes it easier to vote, but harder to cheat, we need to do it for the rest of the country. Beer over ballots, that's the, by the way, that's the title of the clip, is they're protecting beer over ballots. We're just gonna take that right from you, sure. Congresswoman Beth Vietdion, always a pleasure. Appreciate what you do for us in DC. Thank you for your fight and for watching. So we're gonna watch a SAVAC in the Senate. So if there's anybody we gotta yell at, you just let us know. Now I can give you a whole list of things. Oh boy, have a great talk, good to see you.

Also, what we're gonna dive into, Iranian sleeper cells, because especially after what we saw in Austin, which we're gonna break down, if you guys didn't follow that story, the guy who opened fire in Austin, Texas. And by the way, he was in a gun-free zone. None of the bars in Austin. You can't drink and you're drinking. You can't take a firearm in any of those bars in Austin. In fact, there's entire zones that are essentially gun-free. There's, I can't, the street down there, where you basically bar hop. There's a whole, by the way, there's a whole video service. It's like a social media account where it's just Austin street fights. And it's all on the same street. It's like a multiple blocks on one street. It's like, you know, kind of like the loop in Chicago, or the loop in St. Louis, or six street, yeah. Or like a grand avenue and say like things like that. But it is, it's wild. I've been down there a couple of times, not totally my scene, because it's pretty chaotic.

25:36But there's a, I mean, you have cops everywhere. This guy goes down there and opens fire, kills two, injures five. Actually, I think there were more injured. And now it's coming out that he had an Iranian shrine in his house. So not only was he wearing, you know, Islamist clothing, I mean, he was definitely sending a message. This guy who was, he's an immigrant here under Obama Biden, actually, wasn't it, yeah, under Obama Biden, Obama's first term. He had a shrine in his house. So was that, is that technically one of the sleepers? I mean, I feel like it's a fair question to ask. We're going to dive into that coming up with our friend Jack Carr, who's going to be joining us. We're also going to break down how, again, it's had nothing to do with Israel. Look at the history. I gave you a quick rundown. Oh, we're going to date Nive. And a lot of people say, well, it doesn't include Iran specifically, or explicitly by name. But then there's also people who say, well, yes, actually, doesn't have to explicitly say them by name because they gave haven, and this is well known, to al-Qaeda fall and transit after 9-11. After, they had hundreds of al-Qaeda fighters,

30:45hundreds of al-Qaeda senior leaders, hundreds of al-Qaeda supporters that went through Iran. Not only did they give them safe transit, but for a lot of the leaders, they gave them a safe haven following 9-11. So you could argue that the 2001 authorized use of military force is applicable here, and that they are included underneath it. In fact, it's one of the things that the Trump administration is kind of leaning on. But here's the bigger question. For all of the lawmakers that are pretending to be libertarian on this issue, and that are posing on this issue, why didn't they get off their fat ass and do anything about it? Because it's been an effect since 2001. And look, I like Thomas Massey, but I really don't want to hear Thomas Massey talk about it, if he's not going to explain why he hasn't done anything or proposed anything to change it. And I mean, I like Senator Rand Paul a lot, loves Senator Rand Paul as a lawmaker, but why didn't you change it? I mean, I got this question,

31:45and I'm not trying to be mean. I mean, I mean, this with all goodwill, why didn't you alter it? Or why didn't you demand like the extreme level of specificity that you want? Because I would think to say that anybody who gave aid or safe transit or any kind of assistance to those who planned or carried out 9-11, and you have an entity that's giving safe transit and well-known safe haven to major al-Qaeda leaders, that sounds like that falls under that classification to me. So the issue isn't the interpretation, the issue is the lawmakers that never changed it that want to complain about it now. And the commentators who didn't even know with the 2001 use of authorized use of military force included until they started googling it yesterday. So where were all those people like months ago, years ago, when Congress could have changed it, when Republicans ran house and Senate, when we had a very brief near supermajority out of a special election tenure, where were they at? Major question.

32:45So we're going to dive into that coming up, and the lone wolves and the sleeper cells. Are there Iranian sleeper cells here in the United States? Top of this second hour, Dana Lash with you. Like I said, it has absolutely nothing to do with Israel. And remember, the 2001 Authorized Use of Military Force, if lawmakers, any lawmakers, was upset about it, then they had a lot of time to change it. Did they not 25 years to change it? Why didn't they change it? The 2001 Authorized Use of Military Force, and this is one of the things I see some lawmakers talking to Potos over. No matter what you think about it again, let's base it on fact. The 01 Authorized Use of Military Force stipulates that it doesn't explicitly name Iran, but it says countries that are giving aid, countries that are aiding anybody that had anything to do with the planning and carrying out of 9-11. Well, Iran, the 9-11 Commission, yes, it did conclude that Iran had no advanced knowledge.

36:51And this was based on the 9-11 hijackers traveling through Iran, coming from Iran before coming to the United States and staying on expired visas, which is why I said 9-11 always began kind of as a quasi-immigration issue. However, what's different is what happened right after. Iran not only gave safe transit, but they sheltered al-Qaeda leaders for years. Saif Al-Adel lived in Iran for years as did other senior al-Qaeda leaders. And in fact, when we carried out the raid and killed Osama bin Laden in a baudabad, there was tons of documentation and communication that they discovered between bin Laden and other Iranians or other terrorists that were based al-Qaeda members that were being havinned for the lack of a better way to put it in Iran, that showcased that Iran was a very critical key artery for communication, running munitions, running arms, all of that stuff through. So it is pretty well known that they were giving aid and haven to 9-11 perpetrators after.

37:53So again, my point is if there was such a problem with this, then why wasn't enough of a problem for these lawmakers in the past 25 years and some of them have been there for 25 years to do anything about this? Now for those who say, well, Israel, you know, we can't go to war for Israel. I want to know why people think that this is in any way going to war for Israel. That is the thing that I find most fascinating about this. How in the world does anyone think that this has anything to do with going to war for Israel? This started in 1979 when you had the Iranian regime that took over the US embassy. That's when this started. We had guys a 444-day hostage crisis. This started in 1979. That didn't have anything to do with Israel. That had to do with Iran and the regime taking over our embassy in Tehran and holding our people hostage for over a year. So let's get it accurate. And what's more, in 1983, our marine barracks bombing,

38:58we had 241 US service members who lost their lives in the bay route marine barracks bombing. And that was because the Iranian regime provided material support to Hezbollah to do it, one of their proxy groups. They are entirely funded by Iran. So even if you didn't want to consider 1979 and the hostage taking of Americans at our US embassy in Tehran, maybe you could look at the marine barracks bombing in 1983 and the deaths of 241 US service members at the hands of the Iranian regime. And if you didn't want to consider that hell, let's look at 1984 when they captured one of our own. It was William Buckley. He was the in bay route. He was the CIA station chief at the time. So it was kind of a little bit of a Benghazi situation here. They tortured him to death on video. They tortured him to death. They took pictures of it. They reveled in it.

39:58They killed him. So maybe we could even look there. I mean, we can also look at 1984. We had a US embassy annex in bay route. It killed 24 Americans because the Iranian regime and their proxy Hezbollah carried out an attack on the US embassy there, killed 24 other Americans. Now, that's an addition to the 241 US service members that they killed. Or what about in 1985 when they hijacked TWA flight 847 and they murdered a Navy driver? That was in 1985. What about then? Or what about when they were carrying out some of the prisoners that they had in custody, which included Americans in 1988? Oh, what about when they issued a fatwa? Remember when he put that fatwa against Salman Rusty? And all these incidents started happening as a result of that. I mean, we could sit here and go on and on. I mean, good heavens. It goes on and on and on.

41:01What about the beginning in 2011 to 2013, the denial of service, the DDoS attacks on US banks cost tens of millions of dollars, the Iranian regime linked hackers. What about when they boarded a vessel? And this was in January of 2016 when this happened. Barack Obama was happened. And the Iranian guard, they're insane little brown shirts for the lack of a better way to put it. They seized a Navy boat. You're seeing some of the footage on the simulcast. American soldiers were purposely, our sailors were purposefully humiliated. They tried to humiliate them. They made them kneel. And they took video and distributed it all over the world. They showed one of our servicemen with a tear in his eye, made front of our sailors. They threatened to kill them even, too. By the way, five days later, that's when Barack Obama sent half a billion dollars in cash to Iran.

42:04Five days after that, half a billion dollars in cash. So you could sit here and be like, it is real, because there are people who are going to try to make everything about Israel. Some things you absolute fetishized freaks have nothing to do with Israel. Some things have nothing to do with it at all. I mean, we could sit here and go on and on. The attacks against other embassy staff, the attacks against our soldiers, the 10 US Navy sailors that were detained. I mean, we could sit here and we could go on and on and on. There's a lot that they've done. And we have not had an administration that had the balls to do anything about it. They think it's like restorative justice on a macro scale, like a geopolitical restorative justice attempt. If maybe if we're just super nice to the Iranians, they'll stop like saying that we're the great Satan. Maybe we can just nice them out of it. When has that George Soros Kamala Harris style BS ever worked?

43:04Why would, if it doesn't even work within our cities, to stop crime, why the hell do people think that restorative justice approach would work with the terrorist regime? That Jimmy Carter helped install. Jimmy Carter's legacy, by the way, is in Tatters and I'm so glad for it. This has gone on. He helped Islamist take over a country that wasn't Islamist. But what about all the terror cells? You know, we had this mass shooting that took place in Austin, Texas. And the guy isn't Islamist. He came over here under Obama Biden. He shouldn't even, he was wearing a property of Allah shirt during the attack. He was a naturalized U.S. citizen for some reason. I think he should be, I think he should have been deported. He was in a gun-free zone. We're gonna have Democrat reaction to that coming up. Wounded 14, he was in a gun-free zone. He kept a little Iranian shrine.

44:04He had Iranian leaders and Iranian flags in his house, all of that. He went to the most populated area in Austin where he knew nice weather everybody's gonna be outside and he opened fire. He entered during the Clinton administration became a citizen under Obama Biden despite the fact that he already had a criminal record, which I think he should have immediately been deported. But, you know, Democrats, he had all kinds of arrests, arrests over and over again, I mean, all kinds of criminal behavior. But, Democrats allowed him to stay in and they allowed him to become a naturalized citizen. And so, this guy is, he's a terrorist. He, I mean, he had an Iranian shrine in his house so how many others are there out there? You know, I was kind of joking around because my husband and I, we've done a lot of training. And I'm like, now I'm like, maybe we should like run through a couple scenarios again and go, it's usually a place we go, we'll go take classes and sometimes it's like a weekend,

45:05a whole weekend or, you know, a day depends on what kind of training you want to do. But I'm thinking, you know, are they really that stupid to try something like that? By the way, this is why the Second Amendment is so important. Are they really that stupid to try? Of course, they are, absolutely, they're that stupid. Are they really that stupid to pick a fight with people who want to be left alone? But if you pick a fight with them on their turf, by God, not only are they super excited about engaging you, but they're going to make a mess for the medic and a mystery for the morgue. Just say and, I don't know, I'm just, you hear somebody screaming that and I'm just like, ooh, giggity, glockity, glock of clock. My word, I mean, you would hope it would never come to that, but I'm not going to shed any tears over popping an Islamist, not at all. So, I don't know, that's, I think that people do, now you know that they have already issued an alert to the military saying turn off the tracking on your phone. This was something, I'm going to pull this up.

46:06This is something that came out a little earlier. They were saying that American military, particularly you need to make sure that they are, they're turning off the location, the ability to locate where you are through your phone. It's kind of scary when you think about it. They said active threats against personnel. Apparently it came from the Department of War, Uber, Snapchat, they're all compromised. That's what they were saying. You know what I was thinking about too, with all of this, how much in taxes did the United States spend to fund the containment of such a menace that has terrorized us for nearly 50 years? This is the message that Secretary of War sent for military members, active threats against U.S. military personnel in the United States even.

47:10You know, Iran has struck more Arab nations than Israel ever has to, which is another point that I was thinking of. But this is, I'm telling you, this is very, I just think that you need to just, you know, level yellow, cautiously alert. That seems the best way, I think, to describe. You know, just be cautiously alert. There's no need to be freaked out, but there's just be cautiously alert. But it has already reshaped everything. Think about it. During October, on October 6th, Iran was at its peak power essentially. Biden, Clinton, even some Republicans, years of them looking the other way. And they really, this is what happens when you are, you believe in your own, when you believe in your hubris. They really did believe that they were untouchable. They helped fund Hamas. They helped fund this whole of this. Hezbollah Hamas, Houthis. And October 7th, I think, is going to go down as one of the worst strategic errors that Iran has ever made. Because they united the world really against them,

48:12despite so the efforts of so many here in the United States and elsewhere to try to change the, how people feel about Gaza and Israel and Iran, et cetera. The other Arab nations response has been very interesting as well. It came out over the weekend that the Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman, of Saudi Arabia, very publicly were saying, oh, let's, you know, caution, caution, we don't agree with the strikes, although they condemned Iran for striking Arab nations as well. The only country that didn't actually come out and say anything negative on Iran was Morocco. They were upset with the United States, and that's pretty much it. But the Saudis reportedly, very privately, were telling Podas, yes, to do this, absolutely. And then very publicly, you know, they have to keep, because they want to, they would like to be able to control the fanatics that are so far underneath the Islamist regime. They're not for Islamism, which is the political terrorist Islam. They're not, you know, for it, but interesting.

A superior court judge in Bullet County has ruled that a man accused in an October 24 stabbing death is competent to stand trial. This came even after the dude in question removed his own eyeballs and bit off part of his tongue. The judge said, no, he's just pretending to be mentally ill. He's not mentally ill at the time of the offenses and he is currently competent to stand trial. So imagine being that, well, don't imagine being that guy. But that guy took out his own eyeballs and bit off his tongue to try to act like he was crazy. And they're like, no, no, you still got to stand trial. So man, you want to talk about it back, firing. Woo. Let's see, hot air balloon crashed into a radio tower. Occupants were rescued. Oh, see, I get weird about hot air balloons. You know, there's a lot of accidents that, I don't know.

Because there was a pensioner that an old person that got caught speed and in Britain on their little mobility scooter. And they had a tent over them. So it was like an all-weather scooter. And one of the things that we've been talking about getting all into everything with Iran is the one authorized use of military force and also, most importantly, the history, the history of all of this. Because no matter what somebody's opinion is of POTUS, it seems like this reaction that we've been seeing, this has been my entire life that we've had this situation with Iran.

56:22I mean, in fact, since before I was born, we've had this problem with Iran. We all grew up, like part of the Gen X demographic, grew up with Iran as the big terrorist regime, and we know nothing different. One of the first things I remember, and this was in 80s, I was like, I was really young, but I remember we had family in the military and everybody was talking about the 1983 bombing in Beirut of the Marine barracks. And that, I mean, those images were everywhere. You couldn't get away from it. And that is like how a lot of us really remember how Iran started. We had no knowledge of Iran before Carter, no knowledge of Iran before this. And as you remember, that was a suicide truck bombing, 241 Americans, our service members were murdered by this regime. We have other embassy bombings, but this was the one that kickstarted it. And this is also the topic of one of the books that my friend, who is an absolute factory, Jack Carr,

57:25you are all very familiar with Jack Carr, targeted Beirut. I mean, oh my gosh, this just came out last October. And it gets into the bombing of the barracks there. In Beirut, it gets into all of this. He worked with a historian, James Scott, on this book. And as you know, our good friend, Jack, he has a retired Navy SEAL. He has a very illustrious career. He has an impeccable grasp of American history and really foreign policy. And he just brings a very unique perspective, practical, historical, all of the, everything's touched. But this book, and you know him, terminalist, his reseries, he joins us now via video. I mean, first off, Jack, it's so good to see you, but oh my gosh, I mean, to understand this, and I think you said something like this on social media, to really grasp everything with Iran. You got to start back then, back in the 80s, back when all of this stuff began. And you know, really the 83 bombing of the barracks

58:26and you dive into that with your book. And talk to us a little bit about this because you understand the historical significance and also how it led to where we are at today. There's a whole host of reasons that I would like to go back to the 80s, notwithstanding. But is if we could change a response to Beirut 1983 and starts in April with the embassy bombing and that it killed 63 people, 17 Americans. Then we go through a very bloody summer and get to October 1983 with the bombing of the Marine Headquarters and Barracks building. And as you said, that killed 241 service members. There was a lot of tough talk out of the administration at the time. And then we slowly leave very quietly in early 1984. So what this did was teach our enemy a lesson. Specifically, Iran. And in the case of Iran, it taught them that yes, terrorism works, but more specifically that terrorism through proxies works. So we taught them that lesson and there's a direct line

59:29from Beirut 1983 to September 11th, 2001. So if I could go back and change that response, I think that really does change everything going forward when it comes to that lesson the enemy learned and all the terrorist attacks that came after. It's what really growing up and watching all of this and even with Iran contra and everything else, it seemed like there was more rage against Western nations trying to stop the regime from killing people. Then there was rage at the regime for killing innocent people to begin with. I mean, we could see that bias play out on the world stage even all the way back then. Well, it's interesting when you talk about, say, mass protests and we look at, let's say the 50s, 60s, 70s in the former Soviet block countries. And it was only after there was new leadership in the Kremlin that didn't support mowing down protesters with machine guns that those protests were able to make a change. And we've seen since 1979,

1:00:30various times throughout the history of Iran where protests rise up, protesters rise up and they're mowed down with machine guns. We saw the same thing in China multiple times. For our generation, we remember Teniman Square. And it's very interesting this Iranian and Chinese nexus where there's a $400 billion pledge from China to Iran and part of that is a technological surveillance apparatus. So the same type of technologies that China uses within their own country to maintain that authoritarian rule, they are in turn selling that to Iran to allow them to use those same technologies to control the populace. So we also have to remember that regime, specifically authoritarian regimes are very durable. And we haven't seen something like this before. We're all very in tune with Iraq and Afghanistan, 20 years in Afghanistan, all those years in Iraq, all of that nation building, putting boots on the ground, which essentially made us targets in a propaganda war that the enemy was able to exploit.

1:01:31And we were not jotties from all over the world to come there to fight the infidel. And I'm my hope, and of course hope is never a very good strategy or a course of action. Is that those in the administration are senior level military leaders now have learned from the events of Iraq and Afghanistan over those 20 years and are applying them to this current problem set as wisdom. And we will see if that plays out over the next weeks, months, and years. Specifically, if we had somebody in mind, or if the Israelis had connections with somebody in the military, in the intelligence apparatus, who had the support of the intelligence apparatus and the military, you can step up into this power vacuum, or if we're just hoping for the best. And that's the part that I'm very curious about that we'll find out in the weeks and months. And it's interesting you mentioned the intelligence because I saw an interview with Mark Maut, I'm a dinner job. And he was saying that at one point, they had an entity that they created within their government and within their guard to go after Mossad agents. And they found out that the guy leading it was a Mossad agent. And I was shocked that he actually admitted it on camera,

1:02:33but that was pretty impressive that they didn't even know that the guy that they picked to lead it was the guy that they were actually hunting for. I saw that. And there's also technologies available today that we didn't have back in 2001, 2003 type time frame so we can exploit those as well. And then, of course, the Israelis on the ground have that human intelligence that we probably don't have, just because of their proximity and their ability to infiltrate the regime. They've proven time and time again with that example that you just gave right there where they're able to go in. And really deter or degrade the Iranian regime from either to further developing their ballistic missile program or their WMD program or whatever it may be. But in the long term, it appears that we got to a point where we couldn't just rely on those pinpoint strikes that really kept that acceptable level of violence, that status quo, we'd move beyond that. And I really wasn't surprised when I woke up on Saturday morning to have my phone blowing up with text messages.

1:03:33I knew exactly what they were going to say already. Because that maximum pressure campaign was never going to work. Because that Iranian regime has kept power because they have this outside enemy and they're not going to acquiesce to any of those three main demands that the Trump administration had because there was no way to say a face. It looked like it would look like a complete surrender to that populace and so that was never going to happen. So the next step, unfortunately, was this because it also means, yeah, diplomacy failed. That made me sad, but didn't surprise me, but also our covert action programs. Anything we've had in the works over the past year or in decades past, and I won't say those failed, but they didn't achieve the outcome that was necessary to avoid war and now we find ourselves in the current conflict. Yeah, there was no way to go along with this containment policy because it was something that you're just not going to be able to contain. We're talking with our friend, Jack Carr, behind terminal list, and of course his book, which is insane that this just can't, I mean, it not just came out, but fall last year,

1:04:34targeted Beirut, which gets into all of this. You mentioned the containment, and you also mentioned the regime, and the regime seems like as soon as they get a new leader, there's another strike that takes out that leader. But talk to me about the aspect of the asymmetric response that the remnants of the regime may still be able to muster because we saw this terrorist attack in Austin, and this guy had an Iranian shrine in his house. He had the founder of the Iranian regime, and then the current, well, the leader that just got taken out, and a bunch of other leaders in the flag and all this other stuff, is that something that is going to be the new reality in your opinion for Americans now? Well, it has been for quite some time. There have been sporadic attacks over the past 25 plus years. This is just the most recent, and of course there's something in the news and people can get radicalized, not even specifically targeted to be radicalized, but they can just be radicalized via algorithms that are meant to get you riled up and keep you scrolling.

1:05:37It doesn't have to be an actual concerted campaign to find somebody and then get into their head and then radicalize them and then send them off on some mission. It can be a lot less institutional than that. And so we have a couple of things that can happen here. Terrorist attacks meant to get a political end state or you can have these different terrorist attacks as revenge. And when we think back to the 80s, again, we think to Libya at the time, we think of Gaddafi at the time, we remember the two service members killed in a Berlin nightclub. We interned bomb in 1986, Libya two years later. We get Pan Am 103 over Lockerby, Scotland. And that was a Libyan intelligence service that was behind that, killing 270 civilians. So there's this back and forth for revenge, and then there's terrorism to get a political end. And unfortunately that political end, that's the one that we taught the enemy that terrorism works. So it's not the greatest in what we can all do

1:06:41is just be vigilant. We should be doing that anyway for ourselves and our families. But in the weeks and months ahead, just because of the rhetoric, because of algorithms, because of all these things at play. Yes, sleeper cells are something that are concerned about. There's targeting military members too. You saw that alert come out from a second war where either military members are supposed to turn off their location tracking and all of their devices. Because apparently that's now being, being, that kind of surprised me coming from the Secretary of War. If we saw that over the last five years at some point, we saw that happen once but once before. But of course there's little things that we can do to make ourselves harder targets. But at least we don't have an open border like we did for so long that could be excluded by the enemy. We do have an open society. And those are things that Iran didn't have, that China doesn't have, that Russia doesn't have, that North Korea doesn't have, and that our enemy can exploit. So those aren't things that we can exploit in those countries. And they can unfortunately exploit here. Or fortunately, that's just the byproduct

1:07:41of having a free and open society. But there are things that we can do like shutting off our borders and having a better vetting process in place for those who want to come here. Of course that's one. And then now we have our intelligence apparatus, the FBI, in particular working on domestic terrorist threats. But that's mostly the ones that are the cells that we talked about because they're actively planning. And it's those one-offs, those people that are just crazy, radicalized by the algorithm or whatever it might be to go out and take innocent lives. Those are the ones that I think are a little harder to target death. Last question for you, because you've, and you always we've, you know, throughout whether it's your terminal series, the re-series or obviously with your targeted Beirut as well. You always weave, you know, a lot of really good, historical things into your books. And I love the history that you get into in your social media as well. Knowing the history of the way that the regime has operated and even the lower leadership, the surrogate, how do you anticipate this ending at this point with Iran?

1:08:46I mean, is it going to take continued escalation of force? Is do you think that the people are going to be able to do it? I mean, if they've ever been so close, now's the time. Because it seems, it's difficult for us on the outside to ascertain what options they have left because to us, it seems like everything is destroyed. But, you know, they still have all these proxies, they're houthis, they has blah, hamas, that they can rely on. What does your take on that? Yeah, it's the whole tell me how this ends and back in Afghanistan. It's actually very clear how it was going to end at one point, especially in Afghanistan. They actually had a saying for it. The Americans have all the watches, but we have all the time, and all they had to do was wait. We would eventually leave, which is why the withdrawal in 2021 was so painful to watch, because we had 20 years to plan for it. Now we have new leadership in place. We have new elected representatives in place that are hopefully learning from those events of the past and applying them to the current problem set as wisdom. But it's really to tell me how this end piece, that's tough to, that's almost impossible to predict. But what you can't predict is that there will be unintended consequences

1:09:48of a regime decapitation. That's a certainty. And now what you have to do is adapt and adapt faster than your enemy, because typically whoever wins on the battlefield is the one adapting faster. We were not very good at that in Iraq and Afghanistan. We were okay at the tactical level, not very good at the strategic level, obviously. So we're going to have to apply that adaptability to this problem set. And I'll be very curious to find out in the weeks, months, years ahead if we had somebody in mind that could step into this power vacuum and purge the intelligence services and the military of those loyal to the former regime. And that's something that will be very violent and bloody, but probably necessary. And it's a big job. I know we got a good go on, but you also have a new book coming out. I mean, the threat, actually trying to assassinate the president of the United States, which Iran did had nothing to do with Israel. So stop it. Them threatening to sink all our ships

1:15:55had nothing to do with Israel. So stop it. These people, they're trying to protect their Islamist masters. That's what it is. I mean, guys, they're trying to push Chris Long for crying out loud. They're trying to make us somehow yoked to Islamism, not gonna happen. So that's what all this is about. It really is. So I, like I said, it is really something to see the difference here. And you know that all these other world leaders are looking going, oh jeez. Think about it. I mean, Trump went and took out the cartel boss, took out Maduro. Now it's like one baddie per month, I think. A baddie per month. Now we have four servicemen. And I know that they said they were waiting anywhere from 24 to 48 hours before releasing any names. But we have lost four service members in, because of Iran, because of Iran. And I mean, this add this on to the tally of service members that we have killed by Iran that had nothing to do with Israel.

1:16:57I ran struck more Arab nations in Israel ever has. Can you believe bombing do buy for crying out loud? Sending rockets to, are you crazy? Yes, they are. I mean, long story short, they are. What also interests me is the moment that, they got rid of comedy, the moment they got rid of their Ayatollah and then a new one cropped up. He got smurfed right off this mortal coil too. He got draxed, cane. Them clowns has got draxed. So I don't think, like they have to prairie dog their little heads up out of the rubble in the moment they do, pow. And then another one comes up, bam! Drax and them scramps. It's exactly what's happening. I was looking at the amount of money that we have spent just trying to contain Iran over the past 50 years and it's like billions upon billions. As you can imagine, billions upon billions upon billions of dollars, the American taxpayer do not, we should not have to fund the containment of a menace that has killed some of us and has been threatening to call all of us for 50 years. That's how I look, that's how I look at it.

1:17:58Now, there's a difference. I know, I don't think this is a war. I don't know why people are calling this a war. We, it was a strike. Notice how no other nation is going, oh yeah, you shouldn't have done that. Except Morocco. Nobody cares. Because they've been hitting everybody. They're desperate and stupid. They're hitting everybody. I told you how they lost one of their biggest buddies in Syria, with a sodgone, they ended up losing an ally over there, an ally that they relied upon for the funnel-in of munitions and all kinds of stuff. So we'll see, the war power's resolution. That is a real thing. We were talking about that so far. It looks like they're having some trouble right now in Congress. There's nothing concrete. I know Congress convenes, they go back on Tuesday. So we'll see how all that goes, but still it is, it's been wild to watch the enforcement, right? You almost don't know how to interpret it, actual enforcement.

1:18:59We're going to talk with Stephen Yates here coming up about all of this because, man, I'm telling you, it is very, this is so new for a lot of us that have grown up watching, I don't know how to put it. The culpability in a way, like Carter created this problem. And then you had administration after administration, that continued with it by really coddling the regime. It's been really interesting to see this. Now, a few other things, they're, I mean, they're strategy at this point. And I'm telling you, some of these other nations have already been giving them warning signs, especially after they were, they decided to attack Dubai. But the guy who led, which is fascinating, I mean, think about this, October 7th, what did they get from this?

1:20:01They started October 7th, and by the way, Americans were killed in October 7th. Hezbollah was decimated. Bashar al-Assad gone. Hamas was decimated. And now the Iranian regime is fallen. And that is, I mean, quite literally a direct result of their idiots that them carrying out October 7th. Because previously, Obama Biden and the Biden-Harris had us retreating from all of these, all of these other foreign interests. We were kind of pretty much in a policy retreat. That's one of the reasons why China became such a substantial player in South America, in the Middle East. That's one of the reasons why Belt and Road Initiative expanded. They were looking to partner with Arab states. Arab states were looking for partnerships. They wanted to counter the Islamic Republic.

1:21:01So, you know, you, that was part of one of the reasons why the Abraham Accords was very successful in finding a lot of Sainese signatories from these other Arab nations. And then you had October 7th with the Iranian-funded Hamas. And that was the very, that was the very beginning of loss for them. It was the very beginning of loss. And the regime in its panic has been murdering its own people by the thousands. Notice none of the, any of the people crying out for Gaza. Nobody said anything about the Iranian regime. Not a single one of these Gaza propaganda said anything about the Iranian regime murdering its own people by the thousands. They haven't said a single thing. None of the Katari influencers have said anything about it. There's not a single Katari influencer that has talked about how the regime was murdering thousands of its own people, not one. Now, all of this had, was shifting, was fast tracking the United States

1:22:02into a lesser power. The policy decisions from Obama, Biden and Biden, Harris were designed specifically to empower the Islamic Republic and make the United States kind of put it on the back burner, make it a JV player. And then when they messed up on October 7th, by carrying out that genocide, and then now look at everything that's happened after. I mean, what is the downside of having the Ayatollah in there? Let's, I mean, what's the downside of, are taking him out? What's the downside of taking out the Ayatollah? What is the downside? Now, people have been arguing over, authorize use of military force. And I had said previously, the 2001 authorized use of military force, while not explicitly naming Iran, absolutely said any entity that is involved with the planning or carrying out implementation, et cetera, commission of 9-11 would be, is considered to be under the,

1:23:08that 01 authorized use of military force. So the question isn't really for me, why, because we know I ran, as we were talking about earlier, gave our, safe harbor to Iranian terrorists. Al-Adeed, he was one of the, safe Al-Adeed was one of the terrorists that lived for years. I was trying to remember like 17 years or something he lived in Iran. A lot of the big al-Qaeda leaders lived in Iran. They used it as a transit for bombs, munitions, everything. And I mean, that was not really a secret. So technically, going by that interpretation, which seems pretty legitimate, that's covered. That's what some of the critics of Trump's actions on this are trying to state. But here's the other question, if they found it so bad, why didn't any of these lawmakers in the past 20 years do anything about it? Why didn't the libertarians do anything about it? Why didn't the Republicans do anything about it? Why didn't the Democrats, any of those people,

1:24:09any of the ones who disagreed with what's happening? Why did they not use any of this time to do anything about this in Congress? Million dollar question. So we were talking about the terrorist attack in Austin, Texas. That, interesting, that too, it was a big okay, and if someone's fan apparently going by reports, he was all up defending that stuff all over social media. So this is what, like the second time now, we got somebody who's been radicalized by the woke right, another woke right terrorist, unbelievable. I mean, you know, I'm not, I'm just, you know, I'm just asking questions. Just asking questions, you know, just saying. So the pulling this up, this individual who came in under Clinton got citizenship under Obama, had a whole shrine and a criminal record. By the way, we still allowed to become a citizen, but yet had a criminal record.

1:25:14How does this, how does that happen? I mean, there are people who are turned away from even entering the United States for less. That's the big question. Coming up, we're going to be talking with Stephen Yates about the other aspects of this. So you have this axis of evil, essentially. You had Iran, you had Russia and China. China has been very quiet through this. Notice, and they have a lot of money tied up in Iran. We're going to talk to Stephen Yates about some of this as well. 1:28:19Let me go out because we had some other ones from above. This, oh, Rhode Island schools are going to request a reduction of the school year after their historic blizzard. So, they've had so many snow days that they would essentially have to stay in school all the way up until into July, not until but into July, because they've had so many snow days. That is wild. I mean, I think I would be okay for remote learning, like with a snow day, but I know the teacher would be at their, their her house or his house too. So, I mean, I, but I think you could, you know, if you get that much snow regularly, every winter, maybe have a plan because they know kid are going to be going, that's when it's, you know, nice up there is in July. That's crazy, though. They would have to go in all the way into July because of that. That's, that's a lot. You know, one of the things that's really interesting about the, you know, the analysis of this, you know, uh, uh, strike on Iran is all of the other targets, I guess, for the lack of a better way to put it. That Trump is also hitting with this. So for instance, Politico has a very interesting piece out that discusses China's oil dilemma with all of this. Because remember, they got a little bit of their oil from Venezuela, but almost all of Iran's exported oil. And I mean, you know, it was almost half of Venezuela's that went to China last year alone. Iran and Venezuela made up 17% of China's overall oil purchases.

1:32:24Uh, that's pretty impressive. And of course, Potus had said that he's not going to sell them uh, Venezuelan oil at those cheap prices anymore. They got to pay market prices and he may let them buy it. He's thinking about it. So this really is, if you think of it kneecapping, that access of evil, of the Russia, you have Iran, you have China. To get more insight on this are very good friends. Stephen Yates, you all know him. Steve Yates on X Senior Research Fellow Adheritage Foundation. And he advised two presidential administrations on foreign policy with a little bit of focus on China. And he joins us now via video. Stephen, it's always so good to see you. I mean, this is like, you know, right now, it's your Super Bowl. Winston, I hate, I hate putting it like this, but when things like this happen, you're a very in demand person. I, how much does this really hit China? Because they've, they've issued a statement saying, oh, we want to cease fire. Nobody's going to listen to that. Uh, but first, Venezuela now this, are they really that hampered in terms of oil, importing oil in,

1:33:26uh, from, from Iran after Venezuela? Are they really that kneecapped? Well, Dana, it's, it helps our broader cause. I wouldn't say it's one of these things that is like a kill switch for their economy or their military industrial complex. But every bit of turning this table helps. And so, uh, China has played a role in helping these bad actors escape sanctions. And so it's affected our policy in other other areas. These other areas of turmoil have been part of a strategy that China has written about and talked about for decades. That if there were to be a contingency over Taiwan or in East Asia, could they have, could they play in a flare-up in these other theaters to distract or degrade America's ability to respond? And so by taking some of these, uh, these variables out of the equation, uh, at a minimum, making sure that that oil doesn't go to them on the cheap. It definitely complicates the resiliency of their war machine.

1:34:27The price, price is going up for them, have to affect their economy some and that goes into the broader matrix of what's already affecting their economy and they're lying to their people in the world about. So it on balance helps. I think it's a little overstated by a lot of the armchair experts over the last 48 hours to say that this somehow magically changes the whole ballgame. It helps. And I applaud the president for doing it. It's the most strategic thing done to improve our options with China in a long, long time. But it's not the end of the ballgame. They have to be watching everything that's taken place in the past. I mean, I don't even want to say two months. You had Maduro removed and then you had all the drug cartel down in Mexico. The new Holesco leader. He's taken out. And now the itola in Iran. You know, China's got to be watching this and you had Putin say, yeah, we're interested in hearing about providing security guarantees. Nobody wants that smoke. What is going through China's head right now if you had to imagine what their meetings look like headed up as Xi Jinping? What are they discussing?

1:35:28Well, first I just don't assume that they're rational like we are. And so it could be that Xi Jinping is just drunk on his own supply and he just decided just like he went after and put the pedal down in Hong Kong. It's going to come time and he's going to do whatever he thinks he can get away with on Taiwan. I hope that's not the case. I think it would be counterproductive for China not just because I like the people in Taiwan and I don't want a conflict. I think it really empirically would be bad for China for them to do that. But I don't get the bet on them being rational. I do think they have to be looking at, well, we sold material assistance to Venezuela and we haven't even had our diplomats there with a front row seat when all that went down in Venezuela. And it didn't work. We have worked with Iran for decades giving them different material assistance and it didn't seem to do any good. And so if they are rational, they should be thinking, well, we've probably assumed for a very long time that America's on the decline. We're on the rise.

1:36:29America's falling behind. We have this big investment in this material and they do. But do they know it works? Look at that missile defense system that Israel just sort of slapped out for the world to see in the last 24 hours. Laser-based missile defenses that appeared to be working. If we and our allies decide to provide that kind of a capability to say the iron lady of East Asia in Japan or our pals in Taiwan, how much does this begin to change some of the equation? All of a sudden, that expensive material they've been investing in and all the excellence they thought they had with drones literally goes up and smoke. So I think there's some table-turning happening. I wouldn't want to get too hubristic about it. But if they're rational, they should definitely be cooling their jets a bit. And we don't want to get over our skis because we're already approaching. We're getting close to the halfway point of the second term for Trump. And who knows what's going to happen with midterms? I mean, there's already talk about maybe perhaps losing the house

1:37:30having to lame duck. And then in 2028, China could bite their time and then decide to get froggy. If heaven forbid, we have the return of that soft on Iran, soft on China, Obama, slash Biden, slash Harris policy. Which is, you know, it's very realistic. So is that could maybe be a strategy of theirs to wait us out? It certainly could be a strategy of theirs. I've spent a good putter my life in politics and I've always been told that voters don't pay attention to foreign policy and national security issues. There have been several elections in my life where I think that's patently false. I hope, but it's just a hope that people might take a moment and think about. The magnitude of change that President Trump is directing around the world. The magnitude of change that previous presidencies of both parties failed to take care of and that there is a material benefit to the United States that will allow us to have better trade relations, more balanced alliance relations

1:38:30and that we're not going to get pulled into Iraq style wars. But we're going to use force when necessary that all these things are to the net good. And if you just watch the Democrat reaction to this operation where they're literally siding with a terroristic Islamist mullah regime saying we shouldn't have done anything to take them out. Somehow this is all illegal. You know that if they're acting that way and saying these things about this operation that if they win the house that it is impeachment every other day and there will be no more ability for the president to have a free hand to influence the world. So there's a lot on the line and I hope people will prove the pundits wrong when it comes midterms because this is definitely on the ballot. Yeah, that's a great point talking with our friends Stephen Yates at Steve Yates on X. I wanted to ask you kind of a quick question and this gets into the technicality of green lighting the strikes because you know everybody I feel like some of these drive buys on social media don't understand authorized use of military force and they only just started reading about it

1:39:31or learning about it on TikTok and there's a lot of bad interpretations out there because from my understanding and I we when when and we I remember covering this very closely online in the early days and then later with the passage of the Patriot Act that 2001 authorized use of military force. Now my understanding is that it it discusses that anybody who aided anybody else who was involved in the planning or the implementation or the carrying out of 9-11 anybody who gave safe harbor they talked about you know entities countries that are that were harboring terrorists that planned and carried out 9-11 that that is all under that 2001 authorized use of military force even though Iran is not explicitly mentioned Iran did explicitly give safe harbor to a number of al-Qaeda leaders they allowed al-Qaeda to operate on headquarters within their own country so am I correctly interpreting that because I would think that well that falls

1:40:31under that 2001 authorization then if we're going if that's it seems to meet that credibility or that standard but Dana I'm a little bit of an extremist on but I base my extremism on the founding fathers who I think would be puzzled by the ridiculous position that political opportunists have put the commander in chief in and I say that because a lot of the confusion about all of this rests on the the running Richard Nixon out of office probably on not to get altogether legitimate pretextes and after he was underwater with water gate then they overriding a veto that he gave on this war powers act that was all informed by the hyperpolitics of the Vietnam war now people can relitigate that all they want but none of that was based on the founding fathers the founding fathers spoke explicitly at length in their debates and the people can read it if they want to in the federalist papers

1:41:32and Alexander Hamilton I think was the most particular he said you cannot have a war run by a committee it has to be a hand of one that you have to have a commander in chief and so that's the backdrop and so within that backdrop even if we play the game that they've given us someone I never thought I would praise senator federman I think has said this exactly right that all of this comes down to did the president give notice well yes he did and within like 48 hours or something you're supposed to give some kind of notice and then you're supposed to make sure that there aren't troops deployed after like 60 days we'll put there aren't troops deployed in iran and so there's there's all these people who want to be the constitutional scholar in chief but really all they're doing is being spitballs in the wind because really when it comes down to it

1:42:32our founding fathers wanted there to be a commander in chief you've got to have a commander in chief and everyone has operated like that including their saviors like obama and biden and clinton got save us oh my goodness i brought right i last question for you this uh... so now what happens because we've got the regime that's fallen apart you know the president is vowed to you know maintain that level of intensity so long as their remnants of the regime that are getting froggy but in the meantime you know and he's made it very clear that this is something that people have to do you know here's the here's with the current situation but you guys have to here's the door you guys got to walk through it now there's a lot of discussion about who's going to take over the power or who's going to assume control of the country and fill that power vacuum some people have been talking about the uh... son of the the old shop raza pilavi talking about maybe perhaps him he appears to have a lot of support from the people i mean nobody expects they're going to uh... immediately adopt a united states republic

1:43:35model with democratic processes nobody expects them to do that but you want it to be a friendly to the west entity a ruling entity that assumes control what is the likelihood that the son of the austin shot takes over and if not him who lots of perfect question and a lot of people are are asking it i think it's it's super super important on the one hand but on the other hand i think this is a part of president trump and threatening the needle uh... between this kind of an intervention to such some specific material ends without allowing the ghosts of iraq to come back and you end up with mission creep and nation building and things like that there's also the reality and face it a bit in venezuela to if you go ahead and pick someone and it becomes the u.s. or the trump preferred person then every tds suffering person around the world automatically hates and won't work with that person from the get go and if it's someone that comes organically up to the system you might have

1:44:38risks they might not be that great it might take a while might be ugly but what's uglier going through that process with some uncertainty or going through what we did with iraq for ten plus years of agony and expense and death and so uh... someone say well what if uh... a bad regime or bad leader comes up well then that person can have to watch out for the smoke they just witnessed uh... our job is actually to break things and others people's jobs to come in and make it work after the fact and maybe you need to conduct your affairs so that we don't have to come in and break things and that's ugly it's imperfect it's unpredictable but i think that's the only thing that's going to keep the world the break things department you know if we ever had like a break things office i like the idea of having yates be you know the the break things chief just put him on he he gets it steven yates at steve yates on x always a pleasure my friend always appreciate your perspective god bless that thank you for your time thank you Dana take a care you too when you really need care you need twenty four seven
