Trump Admin Deportation Challenges | March 19, 2025 | Hour 2

The Trump administration initiated the deportation of alleged Venezuelan gang members by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, a rarely used wartime law. This action targeted individuals associated with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, which the administration labeled as a proxy for Venezuela's government. 

However, U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg issued a temporary restraining order blocking these deportations, citing concerns overdue process and the applicability of the Alien Enemies Act in this context. Despite the court's order, the administration proceeded with deportation flights, leading to a legal standoff.
