Troy Snitker Joins Mets, Bringing Team-First Culture

0:00It's March 2nd. Here's your New York Metz news in two minutes. Troy Snitzker is the new-hitting coach for the Metz. He spent the past seven years in that role with the Astros. Before that, he grew up around the Braves organization because of his dad, Brian, who managed there for years. Snickers Childhood was full of baseball trips. His family would pack up the minivan during school breaks to join Brian and minor lead towns. He served as a batboy and soaked up lessons on managing and player relations right from the dugout. Snickers got drafted by the Braves in the 19th round and played two years in their system. Later, he coached alongside his dad in the majors. Their past crossed big time in the 2021 World Series, when Brian's Braves beat Troy's Astros for the title. A year later, Snickers celebrated his own championship with Houston. Now at 37, he's teaming up with the Metz hitting director, Jeff Albert, to boost their lineup after replacing two coaches.
