Tri This: S1E31 - The Role of Hormones

About this episode

Kirstin discusses the role hormones play in keeping us healthy and performing at our best. Hormones play a role in energy production and storage. They can help us both build and break down muscle tissue. They can even have protective effects against injuries like concussion, while also being a potential cause of others, like Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tears. Hormones help our body do everything it needs to do. Yet, so many people deal with hormone imbalances with no idea what can actually cause them. In this episode we cover an overview of what hormones are and then we dive deep into the many, and main, causes behind hormone imbalances. Kirstin even surprises us with some of the causes you may not have thought of as contributors to your hormones!
