This week Kirstin gives us a race recap of the first Salem Oregon Half Ironman. It’s 70.3 miles comprising 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, followed by a 13.1 mile run. She finished in 6 hours 9 minutes and completed this race just under four weeks after a very tough Ironman in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. In this episode she talks about the course, which included an extremely fast, river current assisted swim. She also discusses some of her fears of heat exposure and how she managed it on the run, as well as a full breakdown of nutrition, hydration and her plans for recovery. And finally, are there any other races coming up?
Host: Dr. Kirstin Lauritzen
