Trent McDuffie Signs Record-Breaking Deal with Rams

0:00It's March 9th for the NFL. Let's get into it. Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent McDuffie just signed a 4-year, $124 million contract extension with the Lose, Angeles Rams. This deal came right after a trade and makes him the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history. The Chiefs sent him to the Rams in exchange for four draft picks, including a 2026 first rounder. McDuffie was on track to become an unrestricted free agent in 2027, once his rookie contract ended. Earlier this year, Kansas City tried but failed to extend him as he pushed for top market value. Over four seasons there, he became a defensive standout, earning all pro honors in 2023 with strong playoff showings. Meanwhile, the Rams needed help in their secondary after a ranked 19th in coverage grades late last season. They had more than $40 million in cap space heading into the deal. Looking ahead, the 25-year-old McDuffie turns 26 early in 2026.
