0:00Transitional Healthcare Programs. This is a money minute from in-charge education foundation and militarymoney.com. If you're leaving service and are worried about how to pay for healthcare, you should know that the military has several healthcare programs available to help. The Transitional Assistance Management Program, or TAM, offers transitional try-care coverage to certain separating active duty members and their eligible family members. Care is available for only 180 days. Members and former members of the National Guard and Reserve are able to purchase premium-based healthcare coverage under the try-care reserve select. CHAMPFA is a federal healthcare benefits program administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. CHAMPFA provides reimbursement for most medical expenses. The VA provides a standard enhanced health benefits plan to all enrolled veterans. The plan emphasizes preventative and primary care. Lastly, keep in mind that all retired military service members and eligible dependents are eligible for try-care. This money minute is made possible by in-charge debt solutions.
