We're team in transition. Welcome back. It's on Peyton Chicago Sports Radio 1043. The score we are broadcasting live from the scores. Hyundai Studios brought you by your local Hyundai dealers. And it has been a lot of fun this morning. A lot of people to thank all the callers and the textors. Most of all, thank you for listening on this Thursday, the 10th of September. We've been right along, Jared Peyton. It is some week. Tomorrow was Friday. We got week one for the Bears on Sunday. Whoo. Go fast. I'm so excited. It's very exciting. Oh, man. Let's get this thing kicked off. Thank you also to our video producer, Jacob Stutz. It gets us up and going here. I'd like to thank Luma Nautis for Luma Nautis' pizza here delivering the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Part of the new lose rewards promotion. It was delicious and it definitely gave us a kick. In the last segment with that we needed. Thank you to our executive producer, Dustin Rhodes.
Lazy. Wow. Lazy. Excuse me. Lazy. That was from Dustin Early in the program, Miss Interpreting Kevin Gosman's words. Thank you to Brandon Fryer. Are you guys talking about the 3P this morning? What 3P? What 3P should you guys have, Murphy? OK. OK. He's going to become the first guy to win manager the year in 3 consecutive seasons. It's never been done before. Spread Biggs. Biggs time. He thought he would take up some of his very valuable, precious time to talk football to troll me about Pat Murphy and the Brewers. Just to get under your skin, just a little bit. He does it well. Time now. Let's go out to Lakeview. Let's go to Cody's public house. That's where Rahimi and Grody are, Layla and Mark. Good morning, guys. How are you? Oh, good morning to you guys. And it is literally a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Like you said, David Haw. We are at Cody's public house in Lakeview.
And we get to be outside on the patio. It is such a great neighborhood vibe. Already, I'm looking at one of the owners here of Cody's public house. Matt Hayes has hooked us up. We're wearing uniforms here. We've got our... I know. We have Cody swag. They're nice. I love their shirts. And we have a dog. This is a dog-friendly patio. We already got a sweet puppy dog. What kind? We've got a puppy dog. What kind of dog? What kind of a pup would you say that is? A good dog. It's a good dog. Good dog. Oh, you guys... I'm very happy to see Connor to Connor O'Donnell. Oh, we want a good... Hi, good puppy dog. So we're having a great time already. Yeah, it's jealous. It's viewed. We've got a couple of big TVs that we're looking at here right now. The stage is literally set with the tables here. You could smell the food and the... I think it's a smell popcorn. Is that a smell popcorn? It's a hot popcorn. Oh, that's right. Oh, hot popcorn. Is that a popcorn guy? Yes. Is that a popcorn patio and football, friends? Can you get much better from that? No, it doesn't get much better than that.
So the popcorn is just describe it to me. It's of the butter kind and the fresh kind. That's salty, a little salt kind. It's not... I don't know if it's cared for the way David Haw cares for it because for people who don't know. You once do in the score performance kitchen. RIP did the score performance kitchen. That was a nice one. We called him as kitchen grotto. You have a good memory. I did popcorn for a lot of people. We had a big event. That's on Clark sponsored it. That's right. It was quite a thing. They came through and they delivered. It was very good. David, when did you start loving popcorn? Oh, let's really get into this. Where did this popcorn obsession start? I was probably seven years old. My earliest recollection. Every Friday night, you make a batch of popcorn. You grow up in a small town. Marked this very little other things to look forward to. Oh, yeah. Popcorn. Yes, staple of all small town popcorn. And then the secret is, as you know, from experience because you asked me this, the
bacon grease. Oh, that's right. The bacon grease. That's great. You pop your popcorn in a pop full of bacon grease. Let me tell you, it is excellent. That sounds amazing. But being a part of this team now, I didn't know that eating this early was like a thing. It just depends. Like, if your friends at Lou Melnottie stop by, we're not going to say no. Yes, definitely. Yes, the buffalo chicken pizza. They're just dependent. Yeah. Now, when Benny, the bull dumped popcorn on you, did it have bacon grease in it and did that turn you off of popcorn for a while? It never would turn me off of popcorn. It just turned me off of Benny. And you know that even, it stung even more, Mark, because it was a waste of popcorn. Oh, sinful. Yes, sinful. Yes, very expensive to make popcorn. I mean, we can't be wasting, but Benny and I are good terms now. It's a different Benny, so we're definitely going to get along well, Betty. You're not supposed to say anything. Well, we're giving away the identity, you just say, because inevitably there's going
to be different people in the uniform. What? Kids are not allowed right now. Hey, did you guys hear, Grant, talk about the Bears being a prime candidate for regression? And he said that yesterday to K Adams and Bill Barnwell wrote an ESPN.com, well respected Bill Barnwell, that the Bears are going to miss the playoffs. So it's interesting to see the different opinions as we get closer to week one. Yeah, it's pretty easy to jump on that bandwagon, right? I mean, there's all the, it's almost like too obvious, right? Those of all the fourth quarter comebacks because of the turnovers and the dramatics and the players, obviously that forced those turnovers, Kevin Byard, Nishon Wright, those types of guys are no longer with the Bears. So, you know, this is another example, guys, of God, let's get this season started, because like that's like the fifth or sixth, you know, pontiff that is jumped out there and has said pontiff, that has jumped out there and said, the Bears are going to be. I got the Pope on my mind.
Bless you Mark. You think of the Pope? I think about two things every day of my life, the Bears and the Pope and it just all melded together right there. Did you see the Pope? Yeah, we need a game here. We need to stop this silliness. You brought it up Mark. So did you see the Pope received a 16 inch softball from somebody that brought him from brought it from Chicago when he accepted it and he threw it to him apparently as the story goes. Oh really? Not set one at. Okay. All right. This Pope just, he never disappoints and surprises me every single day and I think that, you know, we had, was it Father Tom McCarthy that we had on Lala? Was that the name of the, the John, yeah, Drey is giving me the thumbs up. It was, yeah, Father Tom McCarthy. Sorry, I'm trying to get my advice. That's okay. I got this. He said that we're all okay. We're all good. We haven't blown this, you know, we haven't ruined this for the Pope. We're not blasphemous. So I love this and I think that we should get our opportunity to make it to the Vatican. The show needs to broadcast live from the Vatican. You think so? Oh, I missed right on that. I think it's really inappropriate just for the record.
Lala is trying to save my soul. She tries to save my soul. No, I'm trying to save my soul for it. Lala, I wore a pole pat on television. So I don't know that I, I'm more of a green with Mark than you right now. No, I mean, I think that's one thing, but us doing a sports talk show from the Vatican is because the Pope is from Chicago. Well, wait, the Pope gave us the green light though. Lala, you would do it, right? I don't want it to be on my own on the Vatican. I don't know. I think this is the weirdest hypothetical involving a word. Hey, Grote, if not, it will be Grote and Peyton, you know what I'm saying? So you're willing to come with me. I'm ready to go with you, buddy. Oh, man, how you doing, JP? You doing all right? Yeah, I'm doing good. You feel good about the bear. I would feel better if Lala can figure out her internet situation. But once she does that, we'll be good. But I am technically this wasn't entirely my responsibility. This is a different Wi-Fi than this one. And I don't know how to do this right now because I just thank you, CS.
Did you guys do your picks today? Are you doing that tomorrow for the game? I might say our picks. I mean, yeah, predicting the bear game. Prodicting the bears game tomorrow tomorrow. Extra point 645, appointment radio. Oh, yes, absolutely. Can't wait to see where everybody's going. I want to see somebody, somebody's zags on the bear. I'm glad to see you just wait for somebody. It's a zag because you want to join too. You want to hear somebody say pick in the pants. Because you're leaning that direction. I know you grow. I know. Well, I've gotten closer and closer to picking the bears. You've been conflicted about this. I was. I was like a couple of weeks ago. Not so much anymore. The more and more I learn and read about and talk to people about Caroline, especially their offensive lines, Sitch. I mean, they've got, they're going to have two starters are out at the tackle positions. And they have mineral-freeling as the right tackle who they call the project. And now he's starting. So their project right tackle is starting. I don't know anything about that situation. It doesn't sound familiar at all. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Sounds like you were looking up on up the stats yesterday.
Yes. Yes.
