On April 23, a 28-year-old tourist on a hen party in Florence got arrested after climbing a 16th-century Neptune statue and grabbing. Its genitals on a dare from her friends. This happened Saturday afternoon at the Biancone fountain in Piazza della Cignoria, where police spotted her up there and pulled her down right away. The statue, built by Bartolomeo Ammonati, back in 1559, took some hits from her stunt, paying damage to the horse's hooves at the guy. Base and a freeze, she gripped to stay steady. City officials slapped her with charges for defacing an artistic monument and their estimating repair costs at 5,000 euros, about 4,000 pounds. While she's facing the music now, this ain't the first climb on Old Neptune, since cameras went up in 2005 after another tourist snapped, off a hand the previous time.
