She talks about the warning signs of dementia, comparing them with natural signs of aging. For instance, forgetting something in the microwave is common, but forgetting that microwaves aren't a good place to keep your keys is not. Forgetting someone's name is common, but forgetting their spouse's name is not. If you're afraid to leave them alone, if safety becomes a concern, the greatest thing you can give them is an elevated level of care: memory care.
