0:00On September 7th, alright, so the Mets are bringing a pitcher Jonah Tongue to start today's game against the Marlins. This is his fourth time getting a look with the big club this year. He's bounced between Triple A Syracuse and the majors a few times already. His first couple of outings weren't too shabby, going a decent number of innings without giving up any earn runs. The walks were a bit high and he didn't go super deep into games, but he kept the team competitive. His last appearance though was a rough one, but here's the interesting part. Lately, in his last two starts down in Syracuse, Tongue has been dealing. He's thrown over 12 innings, given up Harley innings hits, no earn runs, and his strikeout numbers are looking solid. He's definitely been pitching better. Meanwhile, Justin Hagginman is heading back down to Triple A. He had a couple of appearances for the Mets this past week. He started a game against the Rays and gave up just one earn run over three innings, which was pretty good. Then he pitched an inning against the Giants and gave up a solo homer.
