Tommy DeVito's Restricted Free Agency: Patriots' Decision Looms

Tommy DeVito, the backup quarterback for the New England Patriots, is heading into restricted free agency this off-season. The 27-year-old joined the team on August 27th, 2025, after the New York Giants let him go. He had been a fan favorite during his two seasons with the Giants from 2023 to 2024. Here this year, DeVito signed a one-year deal worth $1,030,000 with the Giants. That gives teams a recent look at his skills from the 2024 season, where he completed about 70% of his passes for two. 157 yards over three games, starting two of them. DeVito never saw the field for the Patriots this past season. He sat behind star quarterback Drake May, who finished as the NFL MVP runner-up, and fell back up Joshua Doves on the depth chart. Now, as a restricted free agent, he can shop his services to any of the other 31 teams in the league.
