Tom Steeples was a Nashville man who was in the computer business. Tom's life took a dark turn as his addictions worsened. Tom drank, took cocaine, and racked up sizable gambling debts. He allegedly murdered a bar owner that he owed money to in 1993. The police believe he murdered a newlywed couple in 1994. Tom would never stand trial for any of these murders.

The couple met with a man named Tom Johnson was Tennessee that day on a computer business deal. The meeting turned dark when Johnson violently attacked the couple.
